2013 WW thread #4 - Crunchies' Challenge

AddictedtoCrunchies · 26/08/2013 15:31

Here we are, new shiny thread to use for the Crunchies Challenge. Starting 1 September and running to Christmas Eve. Let's compare notes, support each other and restore the camaraderie we had earlier in the year when the weight was falling off us.

I haven't done a spreadsheet as success is personal and I'm on my iPad and it's way too complicated. The link to the old spreadsheet with the points for the Hairy Dieters (HD) book is on thread #3. I bought the new HD book last week and will attempt to point it when I get chance.

Good luck and here's to looking slim and slinky this Christmas Smile

Hurrah, a better week (1.5 lb) - I even used a couple of my weeklies Grin

Lunch ideas: I've been having a sainsburys be good to yourself wrap (3pp) with lots of salad, (lots of salad - more than fits in the wrap!),free dressing, and a slice of naice ham (1pp).

I'm going to start making soups soon though

I've been having Philli extra light and oatcakes as they're pretty filling.

Have got my second half marathon of 3 this Sunday so am carb-loading. My carbonara is good for that. It's a hybrid of the SW version..

Serves 2
2 eggs
2 tbsp v low fat from frais
2 rashers of bacon
mushrooms
4.5oz low fat cheddar (grated)
160g pasta

Put the pasta on. Cook the bacon in the mwave. Fry the mushrooms in a pan with Frylight. Combine the eggs, cheese, from frais and season. Add the mushrooms and bacon to the mix the chuck into the drained pasta. Mix until the egg's cooked. Job done.

Can't remember thepoints off the top of my head but it's a good pre-race or training meal.

Will definitely buy some of those sainsburys wraps - 3pp is good enough for me! Thanks gnoomi

Crunchies with all that running surely it must be muscle gain? Do you do waist/hip measurements?

Can I join too? I've been following ww online since July amd have lost just shy of 21lbs- sounds a lot like that as the first time I did ww 22lbs took me to goal! This time is post baby no 2 and started off at 14st 5 ... my tentative goal is 10st which should be a size 12 at 5'6 but will see how it turns out with mum tum etc.

I've just started the 30 day shred so hoping that will help too. WI day is Thursday for me and 1 off this week. Smile

Hi petalandstars, is the shred good? - I've only managed to do a couple of days before giving up in the past (partly due to my woeful pelvic floor). I only lost 0.5 lb this week, so I'm looking for something to help! I know I'm going to have a rubbish few weeks as work is busy/stressful and even the really healthy eaters at work have been turning to biscuits

STIDW · 19/09/2013 18:51

Hi petalandstars, that sounds a really good start.

My WI was today and I've lost 1.5lbs this week which isn't bad I suppose considering my weight loss is starting to slow down and what I ate last Wednesday and Thursday. I increased my exercise to compensate by adding an extra 25-30 min a day swimming, cycling (new bike!) or walking. Not sure how long I can sustain 1.5 hours exercise/day though without increasing eating more points.

gnoomi I'm on day 4 of level 1, I haven't got any hand weights yet but doing it regardless. I've not done any exercise for a year with pregnancy and newborn busyness so I find it tough but I have already started feeling a bit of a difference in how I find the push ups etc.

I have been doing the easier modifications and am sweating at the end, but if you have a higher fitness level and push yourself to do the higher impact version I would imagine results would show quicker.

DH works shifts so I can't count on being able to get out of the house for a run so counting on this to do some good with fitness.

hi all
I did the shred once for the whole 30 days but all on level 1 and saw a huge difference in my tone. Much less wobble.

I've been checking the thread every day but don't really have anything interesting to post. I'm still following the plan and exercising like mad. Hopefully I'll see a loss Monday. Confused

Lost 2lb this week.

I've done a half stone in total now - which I'm really pleased about.

Feeling very motivated!

Have a good weekend everyone

Hi everyone. I'm drawing a crunchie line under the last three weeks. Won't go on cos its all boring but I've been too ill to think about any sort of healthy eating or exercise. I've missed four weigh ins so fear there will be a large gain at the scales. But onwards and upwards and feeling much better now although I've been asleep all day so I'm having tomorrow as my last day and on Monday, fingers crossed, I will be back on track with you all.

I'm being positive crunchie I've still got tons of time to catch up. Well done all.

Hi

Wondering if I can join...signed up ti WW today, after having DD eight weeks ago and piling on far too many lbs in pregnancy! Have got 4st to lose to get down to my wedding weight of 10st, which I had got down to after losing 2st with WW before.

So...back on the wagon and loving the extra BF points!

Of course you can join MrsW and welcome. There are many very helpful people on here with a wealth of information. Where they are at the moment I have no idea, its gone very quiet.

hi can i join chat? Started WW online last Thursday, really liking it so far. Have DS aged 19 months and any night i can get out i would rather go to gym than to class plus online is cheaper too! And £25 quidco CB!
I have done WW before, and i know i can usually get a stone off quite well with it. Would like to lose 2, getting married in March so that should be enough motivation! I had been trying to do MFP and calorie counting, but felt hungry all the time! and ended up binging! So hoping WW will get me back on the straight and narrow. Have lost 2 stone since having DS, so getting there, its just a slow process! Had big plans to los 2 stone for wedding i am going to this weekend, and didnt manage to lose anything at all over the summer! So i need the structure of WW, and i must say the app is brilliant! So big weigh in tomorrrow!

Welcome everyone (sorry I'm on my phone so can't name check). I'm another 1lb down this week. Lots more to go though Smile. Thanks for the shred advice - I'm going to try and give it another go from next week.

Not sure who was saying they'd been hungry all the time calorie counting, but I've definitely found the unlimited fruit and veg has helped with that. And being able to have a treat with nice fruit has helped psychologically too.
