Right thought I should put up a new thread as we were getting close to filling up the old one!

Useful Notes and Links:

HD = Hairy Dieter's Recipe Book. Circa £7.00 on Amazon and full of yummy low WW point recipes

We share our yummy low point recipes on this thread

We track our losses weekly on this online spread sheet

The spread sheet also has a tab containing all the WW points for every single recipe in the HD book, courtesy of the lovely OhTheConfusion (for working them out) and AddictedtoCrunchies (for having the foresight to paste them in the spread sheet)

Here's to another thread of amazing losses ladies!!

Well I'm being disgustingly pious and virtuous. Hope I can keep up the momentum! Poached eggs and ham on nimble whole meal toast for lunch. Simple yet delicious and doesn't feel diety in the slightest.

I keep looking at my new cooker (and wiping and polishing as its new and shiny and everyfing) and wondering what meal am I going to Christen it with. So far I've only meal planned for using the hob, possibly because it needs stay clean liners and I don't want it looking dirty quickly. Wink #notadomesticgoddess

So tonight I have chicken breasts, mushrooms, brown rice. Thinking that a sort of stroganoff might be good?

Metro a weekend away sounds like bliss. I've not had one of those with DH since 1999. Blush

Lovely to be back, thank you for the warm welcomes xx

Hello everyone, I'm just checking in to keep myself slightly on track.

I'm on holiday now - full on Haven caravan by the seaside! The sort of holiday that pre-children would have made me turn round and go home again. Grin

I've decided not to point this week and just to have a nice time whilst tying to make sensible choices. I don't want it to ruin this week but I would like to stay the same. That said I have already drunk and eaten too much but not anywhere near what I would have got through pre-ww, without giving it a second thought, which makes me realise what awful habits I had gotten into.

This morning I've done week 7, run 2 of couch to 5k and we've been swimming so hopefully it will go some way to offset the balance. Fully intend to do run 3 on Thursday (purely to make me feel less guilty about eatingBlush)

Well done to everyone. Sounds like everyone has some renewed enthusiasm. Perhaps we are coming out of a lull which is fab.

Not had time for day 4 on treadmill (honestly I haven't) but I was out nearly 2 hours with the dogs! Lots of them running around and me standing talking but that's still better than sitting at home as I used to do. Surprising how everyone talks to you when you have dogs and I met several regular walkers so stayed out for ages. Was exhausted when I got home but very happy. One of my WW friends arrived later (I met her at WW meeting) so I only had this evening for the treadmill but went Asda shopping (for vegetables) instead. I see this as a positive day because even food shopping is exercise and I can tell I've been on my legs more cos they ache! Wink

Good luck for weigh ins tomorrow. I'm meeting a different WW friend (theme here) for lunch (salad) but I'll check in tomorrow evening to see how you've done. I think we all deserve a pat on the back, we're doing just great (sending positive vibes to all). We should have a positive smiley!

I've lost 2lbs a week for 14 weeks so that's now 2st. Roll on the next 14 weeks! My activity points for aqua aerobics seem to have dropped which seems strange as all the other activities have stayed the same. Unfortunately my blood pressure has gone over 150 which is a bit worrying.

bigTillyMint · 17/04/2013 08:21

Wow STIDW - that is an impressive steady loss! I wonder why your BP has gone up though?

And well done on the exercise front Paws and Back. I did circuit training last night and my legs still feel stiff. Must do some squats every day, I think!

STIDW whoop whoop! 2lb a week is amazing! Wish I was that consistent!

I'm hoping for a 2lb loss on Saturday as this will see me reach my 10% goal.

Usual breakfast of porridge today for me, but having a tuna wrap for lunch to escape boredom of canned soup, and king prawns in chilli and tomato sauce with spaghetti tonight.

Feeling v in control this week, I'm sure it's this thread!

11 weeks to 1st July...

Well done everyone, you are all doing so well.

I was a bit Sad yesterday... I thought I had 'had' a great week and lost a measly 0.5lbs. I ate all my dailies, 45 of my weeklies, tracked everything, increased my protein, walked over 40K in 5 days and gained over 50 activity points which I DID NOT EAT!!!

My leader said it must be a temporary gain due to increased activity and lactic acid Confused. However it has left me feeling a bit fed up.

That's a shame ohtheconfusion, you may well find you have a big loss next week though, fingers crossed!

I am thrilled today, i have lost 3lbs! Just the boost i needed after putting 1lb on last week, also means my weight now begins with a 12! Yay!

Well 1/2 off so its in the right direction. Leader said its because exercise temporarily slows weight loss but to track measurements as well as weight

Having a shitty week - family friends funeral tomorrow (she was only 44) and just found out not successful for Uni (wanted to do masters in social work). Need to rethink career plans now Blush. Got a baguette on way home from WW but only got a little one so at least my comfort eating is limited

onthemetro · 17/04/2013 13:12

STIDW that is awesome, go you! Very odd that your BP has increased though, have you asked your GP about it?

Confusion I'm sure you'll see the scales catch up with your activity soon :) 50 APs is amazing!

Rudy & thread, well done! 3lbs is an amazing loss.

Sorry to hear about your shitty week, fled. Can you apply for other unis/Open uni? I'm dithering about applying for my MSc but I really need to get my application sent off. I'm terrified about it all though!

Thanks everyone. Am going to talk to work tonight. Had a band 7 interview (successful) a few months back but turned it down because thought I was doing my masters. Going to see if there are any other avenues I can go down at work but the nhs is making cutbacks same as everywhere else. Trying not to comfort eat but have made inroads into boys choc BlushAngry

Thanks everyone. The Activity points were not too hard to get... lots of walking, fitness dvd twice a week and forcing myself to do it! Do you think DH would mind if I clipped the pedometer onto my bra during nookie? Wink.

Sorry your having a rotten week fled. Did you apply to a uni with a C in the name? If so DH has applied to the same course (fancies a career change) and has not heard back... did they email or write to you? Also remember to call the dep after 2 weeks and ask if everyone who got in took up their place, as sometimes they don't and near miss candidates can take it instead.

Report
fledtoscotland · 17/04/2013 14:27

Yes same place. Just am email from ucas. Nothing from gcu. They can't tell me why as I've exceeded entry requirements and work in child protection field.

Report
OhTheConfusion · 17/04/2013 14:50

Fled, have you called the dep you had to send the essay into? It is really rotten Sad.

I don't think DH will get a place as he already has a MSc in another (but relevant) field.

Report
fledtoscotland · 17/04/2013 14:55

Yes phoned them and they couldn't tell me anything. No notification from them just from ucas. I've got to write to them for feedback but they tried to say ucas gave feedback which it clearly says on the form to ask the Uni for specific feedback. Was going to apply to strathclyde but hearts not in it and it would be difficult with childcare etc. Theres a SVQ assessors job but its a 5 and I'm a 6 so not sure if they would protect my pay. Ultimately I want to teach nurses but without a masters that's impossible and I can't find a funded masters I was to do. Best pal suggested pgce as I've got honours degree already as well as nursing degree.

Aaaarrrggghhhh

**sorry for the digression of this thread away from WW Blush

OhTheConfusion · 17/04/2013 15:15

Not sure about the pay protection. DH has always lectured and I know he was approached for a job on a lower scale... he asked them to up it as he was interested but unwilling to be worse off. They did. However it could be worth it for the experience gained.

I went to Strath and loved it, remember it is all city center based now too although when DH did his MSc is was between Strath and Glasgow, but his qualification is from Glasgow Confused.
Just hacked DH's email and nothing yet.

Could you take a teaching and assessing qualification through the NHS?

I've got a training background before I retained as a nurse. The SVQ job has a post grad training as a requirement once in post so that maybe an option. I do a lot of private tutoring for both gcu and paisley students

Where is your DH and what area?

Hi everyone. I'm back. After two weeks off. Travelled over Easter which included seeing friends we hadn't seen for ten years so lots of eating and drinking. A little bit of walking but not enough to count really. Then had two days at home before flying to Dublin. More eating and drinking. No exercise. Cue a gain when I weighed at home on Saturday morning.

The sort of good news is that I have lost half a stone since. But it is through a tummy bug so not great and will come back. Ate first proper food last night since Sunday. Dominos. That prob wasn't sensible as as on the loo again around midnight. DH is away and DS was back at school today so wanted Dominos as a treat.

Today I am back on track though. Tummy seems fine now touch wood. I had Greek yoghurt and an apple for breakfast and HD Golden soup for lunch. No idea about dinner yet though. Might just have more soup.

I didnt go to WW this week as was unwell - prob just as well as was dreading it.

I should have kept up with the thread - might have made me stick to plan a bit better. Agree with all of you that this thread is fab.

Off to get DS - back later!
