jazzcat28 · 03/04/2013 10:53

Right thought I should put up a new thread as we were getting close to filling up the old one!

Useful Notes and Links:

HD = Hairy Dieter's Recipe Book. Circa £7.00 on Amazon and full of yummy low WW point recipes

We share our yummy low point recipes on this thread

We track our losses weekly on this online spread sheet

The spread sheet also has a tab containing all the WW points for every single recipe in the HD book, courtesy of the lovely OhTheConfusion (for working them out) and AddictedtoCrunchies (for having the foresight to paste them in the spread sheet)

Here's to another thread of amazing losses ladies!!

I've just been out and walk\run 1.75 miles then run 3.2 miles. Bit pooped now Smile

fledtoscotland · 17/04/2013 20:36

Go crunchie!!!

mylittlecherub · 17/04/2013 21:18

Well done everyone on the fab weight losses and don't be disheartened those who have hit abit of a slow patch, I've been fannying about over the last month 1/2 on, 1/2 off.... Today I have been to weigh in and lost 4lb!! Or as my leader put it "a big lump of fat finally fell off" :D

I've been pretty good, having porridge for breakie and soup for lunch with fruit and yogurt as snacks, then just a normal meal with the fam. Long may the loss continue, I've got another 2 stone to go but I'm finally beginning with the 11's.

I'd never heard of the c25k until I saw it on here but I'm going to do it when I lose abit more weight! Start getting toned.

Livinginorganisedchaos · 17/04/2013 21:47

Gosh, well done everyone on some fab losses and hang on in there those with slightly more modest losses. We are all heading in the right direction for summer!

I am needing some motivation as I am finding it really hard to get tracking again after having a few weeks off for Easter. I decided not to track at the weekend as we were celebrating DS birthday and it was just going to be too hard to figure out. I think I am maybe having tracking fatigue and it was nice to have a more relaxed attitude over Easter.

I have been toying with the idea of trying filling and healthy instead but I am going to wait until my next weigh in to decide.

Managed a 4 mile run tonight but think that running into such strong head winds deserves double AP!!

poorpaws · 17/04/2013 22:47

Wow, well done to all, such great losses (4lbs is incredible). To the half pounders, hang on in there it's still a loss.

Livinginorg - I gained weight over Christmas and am still trying to lose it in April so don't make my mistake, it just wasn't worth it. Keep tracking, I think it's the only way. I agree about double AP!

I was good with my friend at lunch and we walked around town afterwards to try to gain AP. We did go into Costa later in the afternoon and I so nearly had a choc muffin, it just looked so good, but I refrained (halo shining again). We have however arranged to go back to our tea shop next week where the home made cakes, devon cream teas, sandwiches are to die for. I really need a good weight loss of Fri in preparation.

Keep up the good work, keep positive, we are all doing so well (I think I am doing well, but will find out on Fri).

fledtoscotland · 18/04/2013 09:40

Very restrained paw! I'm impressed as I would have fallen for the choc muffin

Feeling virtuous myself as although I comfort ate my weight in choc yesterday (all pointed Blush) I've just ran/jogged 5k in 58mins Smile

AddictedtoCrunchies · 18/04/2013 13:04

Fled that's brilliant - well done Smile
Someone in my office just stopped me and asked if I'd lost weight! First time it's happened and I'm so chuffed. Grin Grin

OhTheConfusion · 18/04/2013 14:09

Well done Fled and Poorpaws, your doing great!

Crunchie... bet you still have a huge Grin.

poorpaws · 18/04/2013 22:27

Well done Fled thats fabulous.

Unfortunately I spoke too soon about my halo. Today (the day before weigh in) I've completely lost control and had a chocolate/ice cream binge from hell. I always start so well and fall at the last fence, I am so cross with myself.

Addicted, you must be looking good if someone noticed; well done you.
Think I should adopt your name, I've eaten three crunchies today.

Furball · 19/04/2013 09:02

Just joining you here, if thats OK

I'm a long term dieter, and am crap at it. I'm usually a SW gal, but have done WW a few times before. (told you I'm a long term dieter!)

A friend wanted to join classes so I said i would accompany her for moral support and I needed the change

any help/tips/pointers would be hugely welcomed,

I'm just wading through all the bumph as I type.

Will meal plan, meal plan and meal plan. I for some reason bought turkey steaks this week, if anyone knows of a recipe for them?

jazzcat28 · 19/04/2013 09:33

Welcome Furball !! This is a very positive and motivating thread, so hopefully you'll be spurred on! I usually cut up turkey steaks to use in curries/stir frys - you could try that?

I'm feeling positive ahead of tomorrow's WI. Have planned out my food for today and know I'm going to be fine. Working from home and weather is sunny so might even go for a brisk walk this afternoon.

poorpaws don't worry about a falling off the wagon, I'm sure you'll make it up again within a week. If choc/sweets are your thing, do you make sure you factor them into your week or are you going cold turkey and then having a binge? Perhaps try allowing yourself some of your weeklies to have a choc bar a day:

2 finger KitKat = 3pp
Curly Wurly = 3pp (my personal fave as it's huuuuge!)
Milky Way = 3pp
1 Freddo = 3pp
1 finger Twirl = 3pp
1 finger Twix = 3pp
Maltesers ice cream bar/lolly = 3pp
Milky Way Magic Stars (1 33g bag) = 5pp
1 Milkybar = 4pp

Or maybe cadburys highlights hot choc at 1pp per mug? Try to keep your inner chocolate monster happy to avoid a massive blow out?

I personally cannot live without ice cream/dessert after my evening meal so have the WW frozen puds. I know if I didn't have them I'd pig out on ben & jerrys or something.

Hey all.

Long time no post! Have been away in the US and back a couple of weeks, but have been tracking religiously since getting back. The good new is the over the 3 weeks between WI before holiday and WI after holiday, I managed to keep the gain to only 1.2lbs which I'm really pleased with, especially as I was trying to be good but not tracking at all.

The bad news is that in the week since that WI, I have been regions in tracking, and finished the week with 15 weeklies left, but yet have gained half a pound. I am now officially back into the "overweight" BMI category HmmHmmHmm

I don't feel like WW is working at all for me anymore. I've being doing it since 11 January with only 3 weeks off in that period, and my net loss is 4lbs, which is utterly pathetic. No matter how good I am, it doesn't matter. Am massively disheartened as WW has always worked for me without fail, so I really don't know what has changed.

Furball · 19/04/2013 10:52

Thanks for the welcome jazzcat

I've had a google and I'm going to do Garlic, Mushroon and Turkey Bake - which they say is 8 pp - this recipe serves 4 Smile

Welcome furball! I switched from SW to WW in January and it's been the best thing I've done for weight loss. SW worked for me for a bit but it just didn't fit my lifestyle at all, and I'm glad WW does because I don't have to deprive myself of anything. This thread is awesome and very supportive Smile

Welcome back NoWay! How was your time in the US? I had a dream that I'd moved to the US last night actually, and I was asking my new neighbours what chocolate bars are nice there, specifically white chocolate as I missed British chocolate! Weird. Anyway, sorry to hear you're not having a great time with WW, maybe you need to switch it up somehow - eating less weeklies/eating less processed foods/upping the exercise, etc. It's hard to find what works for you though when a tried and tested method fails though I know :(

Today is the end of my 12th week on WW, I've just got to the last page of my WW food journal and feeling quite reflective! I've lost 15.5lbs, and 13 inches from around my body. Though I think I'll have a gain tomorrow at WI, I'm really pleased with the bigger picture.

If you're not measuring your inches, please do! It's stopped me from freaking out about the gain from this week Smile

NoWayNoHow · 19/04/2013 15:24

Thanks onthemetro - US was AMAZING, had an incredible time. Yeah, it's really disheartening when something that has always been my "go to" for weightloss just stops working. There doesn't seem to be any thyme nor reason to it either. I've developed a wheat intolerance since having my gallbladder out, which means I'm eating loads healthier too and having quite a low carb diet anyway.

I'm going to have a read of the whole thread now and get some inspiration for moving forward, but I'm genuinely feeling a little bit at a loss. Feel like I'm already depriving myself and any more cutting back of anything else is just going to make me miserable!!

Hope all you guys are well anyway!

Livinginorganisedchaos · 19/04/2013 18:19

Hello, I am celebrating another pound off this week which means I hit the 10% target. It also means I am only 2 pounds away from goal and the lightest I have been since I had DS (who turned 3 last weekend).

I had been struggling with pointing this week but today has spurred me on to stick with it as I now can see that getting to goal is achievable. I think I had fully expected to fall off the wagon by now and to put on loads of weight over Easter. I am feeling much more in control of my eating and for me that is the real achievement.

Noway, I feel bad writing this knowing you are struggling. If it helps, I have noticed I lose more consistently when I eat all my weeklies. Also, I was wondering where you are in your monthly cycle as I always seem to put a pound or two on in fluid retention when I am due. Try to stick with it, as it may be a plateau and the weight will starting off again. My weight loss has been very slow and often just half a pound but it all adds up.

poorpaws · 19/04/2013 22:38

Welcome Furball, its great here.

Jazz, although I had an almighty binge it was still within my weeklies (just). I have given up alcohol so that I can eat more chocolate and the bars I eat are WW so only 2ppts.

So much for moving a lot more (longer dog walks and treadmill) and for being so good all week apart from last night which as I said was within my weekly points - Ive stayed the same!! My friend is maintaining on 33ppts (I'm on 26) and she used all her weeklies and didn't walk nearly as much as me and she lost 1 lb, its just not right.

So next week we have a new WW bar coming out (2 ppts), orange rice crispies (a little bit like a toffee crisp) I believe. I've asked for a sample and my leader agreed though they aren't supposed to now for some reason.

I'm having a little feast tonight and will be back on track tomorrow. I so wish I hadnt pigged out at Christmas, cos last November I was exactly where I wanted to be and now I am most definitely not. At least as the weather warms up and the nights get lighter it will be easier for us all. (end on a positive note paws).

AddictedtoCrunchies · 20/04/2013 08:07

I've only been and gone and done it. The elusive lb. Meaning I've lost my first stone.

I'm so happy. I couldn't have done it without you all

Thanks Thanks Thanks Grin Grin Grin

jazzcat28 · 20/04/2013 08:37

Hurrah crunchie!!!!!!! Grin well done and here's to the next milestone Wine

I'm hoping to have shed over 1.5lb this morning to have reached my 10% goal, taking my total loss to 22.5lb.... Less than an hour to go

Weather is sunny here so am wearing floaty dress to hopefully assist the scales!

Woo! Well done Crunchie! Thanks

I'm waiting to go to my meeting too jazzcat, got about 45mins to go. I'm not expecting to have lost but I'm not too bothered about gaining, next week's a new start and the start of a shiny new journal!

Does anyone have any pre-WI rituals? I've ended up wearing exactly the same thing each week, a long light dress and leggings. It's nice to see that dress getting baggier and baggier as the weeks go on Smile

jazzcat28 · 20/04/2013 09:42

Lost 1.5lb and beat my 10% goal Grin very happy and honestly couldn't have done it without you lovely thread buddies

We went to the theatre last night (saw Priscilla and it was FAB) and had an early dinner in an italian. I chose bruschetta then spaghetti and meatballs. Was very proud of my choice. Smile
