jazzcat28 · 03/04/2013 10:53

Right thought I should put up a new thread as we were getting close to filling up the old one!

Useful Notes and Links:

HD = Hairy Dieter's Recipe Book. Circa £7.00 on Amazon and full of yummy low WW point recipes

We share our yummy low point recipes on this thread

We track our losses weekly on this online spread sheet

The spread sheet also has a tab containing all the WW points for every single recipe in the HD book, courtesy of the lovely OhTheConfusion (for working them out) and AddictedtoCrunchies (for having the foresight to paste them in the spread sheet)

Here's to another thread of amazing losses ladies!!

Hello . . . I'm sneaking in here . . .
I did weight watchers over 10 years ago and got down to my goal weight. Since then I've had 3 babies and my weight has been very up and down. I had twins (5 years ago) and got very thin and fit almost by accident because it was such physically hard work. Now they've started school I'm aware that the weight is creeping back on and I'd like to lose just over a stone. So I'm just tentatively thinking about doing weight watchers and how to do it, whether to do it online or I think there's a kit you can buy (?) or whether it is too hard to manage when you have children. 10 years ago I was just thinking about me and fitting into a wedding dress . . . now life is a bit more complicated! I was just wondering how people feel about it and if you'd recommend it etc etc.
Thanks! x

Welcome Feathered. Online all the way for me. I don't have time to go to a meeting and I the my computer plus the app on my phone. Then usually have deals on when you join but I pay £11.95 a month by direct debit.
Grin

Neeko · 21/06/2013 20:22

Hi feathered. I like the physicality of going to a class. Knowing I'll have to step on the scales in front of someone keeps me mostly on track. I guess it depends how disciplined you are. (I'm not).

Keep at it Crunchie and Poorpaws

AddictedtoCrunchies · 21/06/2013 22:47

My running coach texted me earlier to say that two separate people had said to him today how great I was looking. That made me feel really Grin

Weigh in tomorrow. Wonder how much of last week's 3lb gain I'll have managed to lose? Hmm I have been good with my food and very active so fingers crossed...

poorpaws · 21/06/2013 23:46

So Crunchie is looking amazing, good for you Crunchie.

Hi Feathered and welcome. I'd just say act NOW whatever way you choose.

WI tonight and I lost 3lbs so very pleased. Not quite as great as it sounds since I gained 2lbs last week and honestly shouldn't have. At least (thanks to all of you) I didn't think sod it, as I have previously. I just worked away at it and crossed my fingers and toes for a loss. Been thinking I should eat out three times every week if I lose.

Neeko ~ I totally agree with you about weighing in front of people. I stayed for the class this week though and I don't think I'll do that again (very boring) so in future I'll weigh, buy the chocolate bars, have a pre lecture chat with the fabulous people there and come home.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 22/06/2013 07:20

Morning.

Well I lost last week's 3lbs and another 3lbs so that's 20 all together now. I'm a little bit ashamed as the 3lb gain last week was due to sheer gluttony and when I went back to eating well it came off. So need to stay focused now.

Off to see Paloma Faith tonight. Have a great day all.

Neeko · 22/06/2013 08:02

Wow Crunchie That's an amazing loss however you look at it. Lovely that others are noticing too.

PoorpawsSo Glad you got your loss too. That's exactly how I feel about meetings: adrenaline of wi, chat with a few WW friends and restock on my strawberry hearts, rich toffee bars and the new WW magazine then home for my lunch!

Packing today. Exciting! Just over a week to go and turning into my usual holiday-zilla. Blush. Find it very stressful packing everything for everyone then DH just packs his own clothes. Not sure how this situation occurred Confused

Lambzig · 22/06/2013 08:13

Congrats on the weight loss. Can I join the 3lb club too. I lost 3.8lbs this week. I had hit a bad plateau three weeks ago, started doing 30 day shred and have lost nearly 9 lb in three weeks and am in single figures of hitting my ideal weight. Also I haven't weighed so little in over ten years. Thanks to this thread which inspired me to go on when I hit the plateau for three weeks.

I go on holiday tomorrow so fear I will put on but will try and eat well and swim a lot. Determined to pick it up when I get back.

fledtoscotland · 22/06/2013 08:14

Go crunchie!!!!!

Neeko · 22/06/2013 10:37

Well done Lambzig. Have a great holiday. Smile

AddictedtoCrunchies · 22/06/2013 12:25

Lambzig I too believe this thread is one of the main reasons why I've done so well. It feels like I have a virtual group of people rooting for me and it really helps me.

Ran six miles this morning in the driving rain. Surely I must get extra points for the extra effort Confused

Blush12 · 22/06/2013 16:24

Hi I am going to join today, signing up on line as need to lose 2 & half stone. Hate seeing my self I the mirror.

MadameCoco · 22/06/2013 23:20

Hi. Have not updated sine my 1st post. Am feeling quite proud of myself - have lost 6lb in 5 weeks and found it surprisingly easy. Have more or less abandoned the C25K but am cycling to work about 3 times per week - 40 mins return, which I log on the tracker. The WW app is brill and very convenient to update so am using that a lot. Also, the meeting that I attend has changed time slightly which means that it is more convenient for me to stay for the talk which I find contributes to better weight loss. My goal for the moment is 14lb (1 stone) weight loss for my hols on 20th August. Fingers crossed.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 23/06/2013 07:27

Well done Madam and welcome Blush.

I remember now why I don't get drunk any more. I'm hanging after way too much wine at an outdoor concert. can't remember the journey home but do remember throwing up in my kitchen sinkBlush Blush I can't find my glasses so can't see. I hope my friend has them. Oh and it's 7.26 and I'm being picked up in half an hour to go to an all day tournament. I can't walk let alone run. What a sorry state Envy

AddictedtoCrunchies · 23/06/2013 20:18

UPDATE
Despite looking and feeling awful this morning, I managed to play all day and we won Grin Grin

poorpaws · 23/06/2013 23:06

But did you find your glasses Crunchie? I love Paloma Faith, was she good live? (Not WW related I know, but I need to know).

I will have other non WW related news next week

Neeko · 24/06/2013 07:32

Poorpaws but I'm away next week and I want to know now!

Hats off to Crunchie. That's impressive work with a hangover.

flatmouse · 24/06/2013 16:00

Some incredible losses this week - well done to the amazing looking Crunchie (in her size 14's - me, jealous? yup but i'll soon be there!) and the rest of you! It really does make a difference when other people comment unexpectedly.

Sorry to let the side down but i stayed the same this week! Not surprised as things have been hectic (sick dog, general running around, not entirely full health myself, meals out, etc). Everything was pointed and i was within weeklies, APs were lower than normal. Need to kick start myself into this next stone!

AddictedtoCrunchies · 24/06/2013 17:03

Paws I found them eventually in friend's car. Pretty sure the concert was good but memories are hazy...

I've had such a bloody horrible day Sad. My tenants finally moved out Friday after a nightmare six months and I got the check out report today. Basically they're trashed the place. Damaged walls, doors and all sorts. We have their deposit but why are people like that? Why is there a hole in the bedroom wall? I just don't understand. Sad. Sad I'm so busy at work too plus in the middle of raising a grievance too. It's all pants.

Neeko · 24/06/2013 19:37

Sorry to hear that Crunchie Sad That happened to my friend too. Hope you get it sorted.

Flatmouse My old leader used to say staying the same was your body's way of stabilizing and ensuring you never put your lost weight back on. No idea if it's true but it sounds good Grin

Tomorrow is my last wi before holiday. Not hopeful due to time of the month but we'll see.

Champagnecharleyismyname · 24/06/2013 22:14

Can I join please, went to my first meeting today. Wi each Monday. Weight had crept on over the last year or so. Also can anyone recommend a good (cheap) scales? I think my portion control is not good.

poorpaws · 24/06/2013 22:45

Welcome Champagne (my favourite drink). Do you mean bathroom scales or kitchen scales? My bathroom scales are WW ones but I wouldn't recommend them they never give the same weight twice even when I've immediately weighed.

Neeko have a lovely holiday and don't let WW spoil it for you. Sorry can't tell you news yet, it's a secret Wink

I'm off to my favourite tea shop again tomorrow. It will be the last time until September cos the tourists take it over during July and August so I have to wait until they all bugger off/go home. So a last blow out for me, no doubt the home made cake or scones, jam and clotted cream will be screaming at me to eat them.

Flatmouse you haven't let the side down at all. I stayed the same for weeks and although it's very annoying at least it's not a gain (sorry very obvious thing to say but true all the same). You might have a very good loss next week (crossed fingers again).

poorpaws · 24/06/2013 22:47

Wine for Crunchie, hope things get better for you this week. At least you've got your glasses.

SageYourResoluteOracle · 24/06/2013 22:58

Oooh! Can I join too please?

So, I need to lose baby eating cake every day for a year whilst I was on maternity leave weight. Ahem. My DD turns 2 next month!

I am 5'6 inches, weigh 13 stone 3 lbs and would like to get down to 11 stone 7lbs. That's a nice weight for me and usually sees me as a size 12-14. Right now I'm a 14-16 but it's not so much size as shape and I want to get back into running too but it's not fun with all the extra weight.

I NEED some help to stay motivated please. I'm using the WW iPhone app.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 25/06/2013 06:58

Sage, I believe running is the answer no matter what your shape or size. If you look on the op you'll gee a weight loss spreadsheet and, on one of the tabs, is my beginners running plan based on C25k. I did it with some friends in April/May and got them from non runners to running a Race for Life. They all look leaner and feel stronger.

I've lost 20lb so far this year, slow and steady. I've dropped two dress sizes and couldn't have done it without my running. I've got three half marathons coming up so am training hard for those. 6.2 miles last night.

Thanks for all your kind words yesterday. Showed my very practical DFIL the pics last night and he doesn't think it's going to a as bad or expensive. He's meeting DH there later to have a look. I've just got to get through a vile day at work. Lots of Biscuit and Brew I think.

No Wine. though after Saturday. Don't want another glasses-gate.
