Right thought I should put up a new thread as we were getting close to filling up the old one!

Useful Notes and Links:

HD = Hairy Dieter's Recipe Book. Circa £7.00 on Amazon and full of yummy low WW point recipes

We share our yummy low point recipes on this thread

We track our losses weekly on this online spread sheet

The spread sheet also has a tab containing all the WW points for every single recipe in the HD book, courtesy of the lovely OhTheConfusion (for working them out) and AddictedtoCrunchies (for having the foresight to paste them in the spread sheet)

Here's to another thread of amazing losses ladies!!

After a good first three weeks I only lost 0.5kg this week despite sticking rigidly to my points but that does mean I hit my 5% goal so am trying to stay motivated. Well done on all the fab losses.

Woodenpeg · 25/06/2013 17:31

right, went to the gym today, 20 minutes on the cross trainer, doing interval training then did some crunches, push-ups and a couple of plank's.

Feel great.

Really need to up my exersize.

Welcome sage you'll fit right in. It's great!!! I'm online, and it works. Make good choices and point! Grin

brunette123 · 25/06/2013 19:03

hiya just wondered for those of you who go to meetings, does your leader text you/contact you between meetings/weigh in to wish you well or keep you on track?
thanks
x

poorpaws · 25/06/2013 22:16

brunette ~ no my leader never txts me although I believe she is in touch with some of her girls.

Went to my tea shop as planned and did fairly well I think and used some of my weeklies I'd saved especially. In other news don't think I'll be eating out so much in future. WW friend and I had a big row today. I still think I was in the right but feel very low tonight. We've been dining out once a week for over a year and now it looks very much as if its all going to end. Sad but crap happens.

Crunchie you really made me smile with glasses-gate, we use the "gate" thing constantly in our house. Pleased the damage wasn't nearly as bad as you thought.

SageYourResoluteOracle · 25/06/2013 23:27

Addicted- thanks for the lovely welcome. It's crunchies of the sit ups kind that you're addicted to, right?! Grin

Totes agree re running. I used to run 10ks and have done a couple of half marathons too. 20lbs is amazing! I think I need to just be done with it and enter a 10k so I have something to work toward. I am signed up with Park run though so technically I can race every Saturday morning . . . but if much rather snuggle in bed with DD in between me and DH watching cartoons whilst we snooze! Oh well.

Wooden - thanks for your welcome too. I'm obsessive about logging points. When I did WW about ten years ago, everything was done via a handwritten diary and using a points guide booklet. How things have changed.

Poorpaws - I've come late to the party that is this thread but I'm sorry to hear you've fallen out with your WW friend.

Anyway. Bed is calling. I'm down to only 13 spare pro points until my new allocation on Saturday. 3 days to go so I'll have to spend wisely!

BreatheandFlyAway · 26/06/2013 00:00

Hi all thank you for welcome (few pages back ahem!) I have a question for ww and exercise gurus: been doing points for weeks. No weight movement. Came off ADs over a month ago as I heard they cause weight gain. Started circuits twice a week a few weeks ago. Still no change. So I am now as of last week, exercising six days a week in desperation. These are tough classes like circuits, LBTs and power core. Still no loss! Maybe a pound or two that fluctuates. Could it be that the ADs are still hanging onto fat for me despite stopping them pre 6 weeks? Or lots of sudden exercise making muscles inflamed and heavier (feebly hopeful!) or- I am doomed??? Thanks for feedback!

BreatheandFlyAway · 26/06/2013 00:01

Ps despite sounding jokey can I add that I am feeling in utter despair?

Neeko · 26/06/2013 15:14

not doomed. Breathe but you have put your body through a lot of changes. Give it time to settle. Too much exercise suddenly can make your body sort of panic. Drink lots of water, count your points and wait Smile

BreatheandFlyAway · 26/06/2013 22:07

Thank you, Neeko for your kind words of support Smile. I will stop panicking and continue with points, excercise and plenty of water. And hopefully this will eventually pay dividends. One plus is that my jeans are looser and baggier on the thighs, though no change round waist yet.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 26/06/2013 22:16

Breathe why not measure all your bits and pieces. Then at least if the scales don't change you can see the inches decrease? Thanks

I ran the 2nd time trial tonight. Those of you who aren't bored rigid by my running may remember I knocked over 3 mins off my 5k pb last time and did the race in 28.19.

Well tonight I wasn't feeling it but my running coach was there and he told me to go for it. So I did. And.....27.52! So another 27 secs off the pb. Am a very happy lady right now. Although my gyppy hamstring isn't and I'm currently 'wearing' a freezer block wrapped in a tea towel. Not a great look Confused

SageYourResoluteOracle · 26/06/2013 22:23

Addicted- 27.52 for a 5k is an awesome time! I can't remember what my PB was but the last 5k I did took over 38 minutes. Simply dire! And this from the girl who used to run a 10k sub 60! Hope your hamstring feels better soon. A running injury and everything! That officially makes you A Serious Runner! Grin

Breathe- it'll be muscles of steel that had shown no weight loss as yet. Looser jeans can only be a good thing.

2 days until weigh-in for me. When is everyone else's weigh in day?

BreatheandFlyAway · 26/06/2013 22:33

crunchies good advice re the measuring! Then I wouldn't be so despairing at the non-weight movement after all the efforts!

Great news about you running. Very impressive. Sorry I haven't read back - but how did you start out with your running? It's clearly very successful now. Did you do the 2 mins run, 1 min walk thing to start you off?

BreatheandFlyAway · 26/06/2013 22:35

ooh sage muscles of steel - I like it! My weigh ins are Tuesdays but haven't managed to go for a couple of weeks due to work. But have been weighing myself at home in meantime.

NewYorkDeli · 26/06/2013 23:57

Hi ladies, can i join?

Started weightwatchers this week, my weigh in day is friday. Had a crap day today, it's my mum's bday & the majority of my points went on cake & coffee. I had to use a chunk of my weeklies to eat a toastie! Need to make far more sensible food choices in future.

OhTheConfusion · 27/06/2013 08:40

Morning everyone, can I come back please? Blush

I have been pretty terrible for the past six weeks, I have felt sluggish, gained 5lbs and not done anything about it... but I am back on it this week!

Woodenpeg · 27/06/2013 10:41

I got another silver 7!

I give thanks to this thread! I was doing nothing until this spurred me on.

Thank you ladies!!!

AND WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

AddictedtoCrunchies · 27/06/2013 14:21

Welcome Deli and welcome back Confusion. Well done Peg!

Breathe I started running 3 years ago using the C25k. Had a bad injury and an op in 2011 but now I'm well back on it. I joined a lovely running club which helps as I always .ate someone to run with. And I'm getting stronger and stronger. Three half marathons lined up over the next few months. Grin

pollywollydoodle · 27/06/2013 21:06

hi, can i join? i got to goal last summer and stayed there until xmas when i gained. i've been 5 to 10lb over goal since. i decided to get serious last week and lost 3.5 lb. i've got 6lb left to get back to goal. 1lb more for it to be free againGrin
31 yday,32 today.. bring it on!

poorpaws · 27/06/2013 21:58

Welcome Polly. Glad you're back Confusion.

So weigh in tomorrow and yet again on Thursday night I am eating more rubbish than I've eaten all week. Why I do this I have no idea, it's always, always the night before weigh in. (There should be a stupid idiot smiley).

Thinking about it perhaps I am using up my weekly ppts. I'm always very careful with them for a few days after wi and by Thursday I usually have loads left (unless I've dined out unexpectedly). So I need to ask you all, how do you deal with weeklies and do you have loads left on the night before wi? If you have lots left do you have a binge and eat them all, or most of them? Do you use all your weeklies? I used to use all mine until I was invited for lunch and hadn't got any left so that's why I think I save them now. Also do you use them for rubbish/chocolate? Wow lots of questions, makes me wonder how I ever got to goal. Come on wise ones sort me out.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 27/06/2013 22:07

I generally use mine on a Sunday. I go to MILs and have a slap up roast with pud then Sunday tea. I point it as best I can and that usually leaves me 15-20 for the week. I've usually got some left cos I've set my doo dah to use activity points first and I earn quite a few of them. I have to have treats else I fail. Just have to make sure the points are there to cover it. Smile

pollywollydoodle · 27/06/2013 22:30

when i'm losing successfully i have a treat of 10 or so after weigh in and use what i need of the rest for meals out or to deal with cravings.
when i'm unsuccessfull, i tend tp go mad after weigh in picking at nothing memorable and then play catch up, trying to stick to my 26 (i'm in a wheelchair so don't bother counting activity points)

pollywollydoodle · 27/06/2013 22:32

oops... i can use most of my weeklies in 48 hrs Blush

NewYorkDeli · 28/06/2013 00:08

Ladies, 2 questions.

Firstly, do you always use all or majority of your weeklies? Do you get a better loss if you barely use them?

Secondly, having an indian takeaway on saturday. Going for the chicken dopiaza with half portion boiled rice & half a naan, shocked to see the dopiaza is 26pp when it's tomato based (same pp as a korma?!) now, i only eat the chicken out of the dopiaza and a few spoonfuls of the sauce over my rice. What would you point it at in that instance?

OhTheConfusion · 28/06/2013 09:00

Morning, thanks for the welcome back ladies Smile.

NewYork, my WW leader would say it s so high because the chicken is cooked off in oil so that is where the majority of the PP's are. Could you go for a half portion (I can never eat a half portion from our local, they still seem big).

OhTheConfusion · 28/06/2013 09:07

Sorry I posted too soon.
I get a better loss when I use my weeklies (I use around 40 of them).

I had my first PT session yesterday... I hurt from head to toe today Hmm, I have found muscles I didn't know I had!
