jazzcat28 · 03/04/2013 10:53

Right thought I should put up a new thread as we were getting close to filling up the old one!

Useful Notes and Links:

HD = Hairy Dieter's Recipe Book. Circa £7.00 on Amazon and full of yummy low WW point recipes

We share our yummy low point recipes on this thread

We track our losses weekly on this online spread sheet

The spread sheet also has a tab containing all the WW points for every single recipe in the HD book, courtesy of the lovely OhTheConfusion (for working them out) and AddictedtoCrunchies (for having the foresight to paste them in the spread sheet)

Here's to another thread of amazing losses ladies!!

Happy shagging Jazz Grin

STIDW · 01/06/2013 16:26

I've not posted for a while because I've been on a sabbatical in Canada and Alaska. Still managed to lose 2lb a week apart from one week even though I was away so I'm quite chuffed although I've increased my exercise. I've now lost almost 3 stone since the middle of January.

As far as carbs are concerned I found it was easier to cut down after loosing some weight. I now usually have a small slice of bread for lunch, a small portion of rice, pasta or pots for dinner and sometimes as a treat I'll have a pancake or slice of raisin bread as a snack.

poorpaws · 01/06/2013 23:21

Amazing as ever Crunchie.

Another happy shagging from me Jazz.

I've increased my exercise a little and eaten more carbs (new potatoes added to veg and ready meal for dinner and 2 crumpets later on tonight). Day 1 so I'm not sure I can keep this up but so far I've no lunches out this week so it could go well .

Sending thin vibes to all.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 02/06/2013 15:16

Race for Life done. Legs are stiff today after doing the Shred yesterday. Day one of half marathon training tomorrow. Grin

Accepting thin vibes..

poorpaws · 02/06/2013 22:05

Wow Crunchie you never cease to amaze me, well done to you.

I've done nothing today except the usual dog walk and now I'm regretting a completely wasted day. This "more carbs" thing doesn't seem to be working, I'm still just as hungry in the evenings. I said I'd give it a week so I will be I'm not impressed at all.

flatmouse · 03/06/2013 07:59

I don't know, i go away for a bit and come back and it's all different! Our own topic? Would be nice to have the other (older) threads moved into here too really.

So was on hols last week (fab time), and had bday week before - but kept within weeklies for both weeks. Total weight loss over the two weeks? 1lb 6oz. Was hoping for more - especially after SMASHING my PB AP total for last week with 64! Having such fun Hula'ing (although this goes along with massive bruises). Running also improving - ran 3.25 mi yday - time was a little disappointing but OKish. Crunchie well impressed with your 5km PB - wow! Over 2 mins off - that is amazing. Have to decide fairly soon whether i'm going to train for half marathon (October). Now I've got the 5km down, I guess I could.

My disappointment on the weight loss was balanced with the little star that popped up and said i'd lost 25lbs :) Also did my measurements today. Think i need to go out and buy my size 14s!! (these size 16 jeans are rather baggy now).

Nice to see you all marching on! Well done everyone.

flatmouse · 03/06/2013 08:01

STIDW that is amazing weight loss - well done!

AddictedtoCrunchies · 03/06/2013 14:02

Well done Flatmouse I'm starting a 12 week half marathon training plan today so I do think that should be your best option... I didn't notice the new section though - I just come straight here.

I'm not having the best of days. Was woken at 5am by the unmistakeable sound of DS throwing up all over his bed. AGAIN. Nine days of on and off illness now so called the doc, went in at 11 to see him and he suspects appendicitis. But just need to watch and wait to see what happens. But I have a referral letter and if he's bad again we have to go to A&E Sad So I've been up since 5, trying to get a 9 hour day in too. Thanks goodness for DMum who has him.

jazzcat28 · 03/06/2013 21:02

Crunchie poor you and your poor DS. Hope he's on the mend soon.

I'm polishing my halo this week after going back to tracking every morsel I'm eating. Have even entered my dinner out on Friday night now so I know how many weeklies I have to burn between now and then.

Am feeling very positive about the baby making this month. Really don't want to jinx it again but keep your fingers crossed for me. Am making the most of wearing my new smaller clothes whilst I can!

OP posts:
poorpaws · 03/06/2013 23:44

I'm polishing my halo too. I am being so very good this week, I can't believe its me really.

Crunchie, hope DS is better very soon and that you get some rest.

Flat, glad you had fab hol and well done.

Hope I can keep this halo polishing up all week (not sure I can).

SunshineandShandy · 04/06/2013 10:11

Hello. I would like to join you please. I am starting WW again and very determined. DD2 is 6 months next week and enough is enough. I am way too fat and unfit and I look horrible in my clothes.

So, today I started C25K. Hard work, but I did it. And I am also tracking again from today. I am a depressing 13.8 stone and am 5ft 3". So I have a looong way to go. But I swear I will do it now. I am 40 this year and I simply have to sort my body out.

Well done on all of your fabulous weight losses. Very inspiring.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 04/06/2013 13:58

Welcome sunshine. This is a lovely thread and people flit in and out depending on motivation levels Smile Good luck with your C25k - I'm a strong advocate of running and do a lot. I'm just going out for a lunchtime run.

Thanks for all your good wishes, DS is loads better today so hopefully that grumbling appendix will keep quiet now. Back to school tomorrow tooSmile

Have a great day Thanks

jazzcat28 · 04/06/2013 15:47

Welcome sunshine!! We are a friendly bunch and already have lost a lot of weight between us since January 2013 so hopefully the skinny vibes will rub off onto you too!

I am looking forward to a dinner of either prawns with cherry tomatoes, garlic and spaghetti OR fish fingers, potato waffles and beans.

All very much depends how much I feel like cooking when I get in tonight!

OP posts:
AddictedtoCrunchies · 04/06/2013 20:32

I had fish and chips Blush And it was bloody lovely.

Lambzig · 04/06/2013 20:35

Hi, can I join too please? I have been doing WW for eight weeks and have lost a stone, but hit a plateau for the last couple of weeks. Have another stone to go and the post CS shelf is not shifting.

I have just started shredding (on day 2) to try and get over the plateau. I go on holiday in three weeks and desperately want to lose 6lbs before then as I know I will feel ok if I do.

poorpaws · 04/06/2013 22:55

Welcome Sunshine and Lamb, stay with us we are very supportive.

Crunchie ~ fish and chips, goodness I've forgotten what they taste like.
Off to polish halo again. I still being soooooo good (if I don't lose this week I shall swear).

Sending more thin vibes for everyone.

Welcome newcomers, and crunchie hope mini-crunchie stays well. Jazz fingers crossed for this month! Well done rightsaid and paws.

Feeling a little fed up today as last night's run (PB on the 5km) resulted in poorly right calf. Advice from physio to rest it until after weekend and wear compression socks whilst running (seems to cramp internally IYKWIM). Really wanted to do 4 runs this week. Will have to stick to hula'ing until then (and walking the dog). Will start shredding again as well for core strength (but avoiding jumping jacks as they have bad effect on calf too), but waiting to get DVD back as is out on loan.

Salads a plenty here - and enjoying them! Oooh and fresh strawberries - yum!

poorpaws · 06/06/2013 00:01

Aw poor you Flatmouse hope you're better soon. I had my first strawberries of the season today too ~ yummy.

I've stopped polishing my halo today . I thought it was all a bit too good to be true. I had a gardening accident yesterday, a garden fork handle went straight into my eye (long story) but the whites of my right eye is now filled with blood and I look a bit like an alien (it bloody hurt too). This has meant I haven't done so much today so bored again and eaten an extra 21 ppts. BUT I am still well within my 49 weeklies so that's ok isn't it? .

It's been so much easier this week because I haven't been out for lunch. I usually "do lunch" at least once or twice a week and this is the first time in ages I haven't been out and I seem to have so many ppts to play with. Does anyone agree that using 7 weekly ppts per day rather than a blow out on lunches makes life easier? Pity I've got a lunch and dinner (with fantastic puds) planned for next week.

Well done Thread, another good loss.

Crunchie I hope to have that Pledge back very soon and also hope your DS is better. I've just realised that both halo polishers have had accidents (oops).

Ouch paws, not good. (Was trying to think of plenty of "eye" jokes but decided against!) hope it heals soon. Think the Pledge is very slippy and we should avoid it and just use elbow power to polish those halos (wonder how many AP for halo-polishing?).

Am off to cinema at weekend, followed by Pizza Express, so at least i'll know the pp's there. Fred how do you convert calories to pps?

jazzcat28 · 06/06/2013 09:48

paws that sounds horrid! Sending get well soon vibes your way.

I'm trying to save points for tomorrow night as am going for a meal out. It's at a restaurant covered by the Eating Out book but the best option I could find (other than a boring salad) is going to set me back a whopping 29pp for the meal!

When eating out for lunch/dinner I try wherever possible to steer my friends to places that are in the Eating Out book so I can attempt to work out pp. I usually put the pp in the book plus 3 or 4 extra to cover possible oils/dressings that might appear.

OP posts:
AddictedtoCrunchies · 06/06/2013 16:34

And the moral of the tale, too much polishing may result in calf and eye injuries. Sending you both Thanks Thanks

I'm not counting pp at the moment as life is just too busy. However real life has to go on so I'm watching my intake and keeping up my exercise. Need to run tonight and tomorrow, tournament all day Saturday, run Monday then a 10k race Wed.

In other news, I'm going to a do on Saturday night and it's posh frock. I have one in my wardrobe which I last wore more than ten years ago. AND IT FITS!! It's black, halter necked, floor length with a gert split up the front. Vair sexy. Need to determine the pants position ie tiny thong type affair (not attractive) or massive apple catchers (preferable) but I may well wear it. If I do I'll try and find some way of showing you all a pic if you're interested.

QueenFaeriecakes · 06/06/2013 17:49

Helloooooo everyone! I thought I'd join in.
I was a healthy 8st 7lbs 18 months ago but after a serious bipolar relapse I was prescribed respiridone and venalafaxine. I am now 12st 10lbs and at 4ft11 this is not a good look.
I have taken the well thought out decision to come off my meds as life is now stable and on the up.
I have slowly come off the meds and now day 4 clean. My body is giving me cold sweats and I'm fuzzy but other then that its going good.
I have done WW before so know the routine and got a lot of tips and recipes.
I'm day 2 of the diet, so hungry I could eat my own arm but know this is temporary as my stomach is so used to having mahoooosive portions throughout the day!
Any who, looking forward to weigh in next week to see if I've lost anything.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 06/06/2013 18:12

Welcome Queen. Sure you'll soon get back into it. Thanks
