Right thought I should put up a new thread as we were getting close to filling up the old one!

Useful Notes and Links:

HD = Hairy Dieter's Recipe Book. Circa £7.00 on Amazon and full of yummy low WW point recipes

We share our yummy low point recipes on this thread

We track our losses weekly on this online spread sheet

The spread sheet also has a tab containing all the WW points for every single recipe in the HD book, courtesy of the lovely OhTheConfusion (for working them out) and AddictedtoCrunchies (for having the foresight to paste them in the spread sheet)

Here's to another thread of amazing losses ladies!!

Thinking on joining WW online group... I am hoping that the commitment of a group will help me lose weight (the financial commitment, if nothing else?) - please could you share your experiences. I am swaying towards WW rather than SW as you have to cook from scratch a lot with SW which I confess I don't do..

Have been doing slim fast over the last few days, not sure how long I can keep going with that... I need real food

I am 5ft 3, and weigh 13st 1lb Blush, age 42, not sure what my goal weight should be? Can anyone advise??

I am disgusted with myself for getting this way..
Thanks

Oh my, I have a lot to lose Blush ... Do you go to WW meetings, or online?... I feel so unhappy right now...

AddictedtoCrunchies · 29/05/2013 17:08

He's not too bad today although went to his football course and is in bits from tiredness. not sure we're going to make 6pm let alone bedtime! Smile

Have fun baby-making this month jazzcat.

Poorpaws its a pity you didn't get it at asda, my work colleague took back a prawn salad & got money back plus £20 voucher! She kept it on her desk all afternoon & had eaten most of it yet still convinced them it was off.

Hope everyone is ok? I had WI today & stayed same. Not happy with that but telling myself its better than gaining weight.

Good luck to everyone this week.

poorpaws · 29/05/2013 21:46

Neeko - that hurt. Thanks.

Welcome Emmie. I've done SW, WW and Rosemary Conley (see a pattern here). I am embarrassed to admit that SW was not for me. I lasted three weeks and actually gained a pound. R Conley was very good and I lost weight but I couldn't do the exercise now so I chose WW. You might be forgiven (if you read what I write here) for thinking I haven't done well with WW but when I was actually trying to get to goal I was very focused and lost steadily. It's since I got to goal I've struggled. As everyone on here knows I gained half a stone over Christmas through being a complete pig and now in May I am still trying to lose it without any success at all. I've been at goal for over a year now and find it so much harder to maintain than I did to lose it originally. Hope this helps. They are a great group here and there's always someone to help or kick you up the bum (which I need a lot, hey Neeko).

Well, am pleased to report, i've signed up for WW online tonight Smile

Have been busy with points tracker...

Tried the low-carb diet, but found that really hard going, missed my cereal and pasta too much... Tried the 5: 2 diet, but felt too faint on the fast days...

I'm a foodie, I need real food...Have got a kindle copy of Hairy Bikers book... love it... meals fit in well with family.. did I see somewhere an easy way of tracking hairy biker meals on WW points tracker?

Please could I be added to your weekly spreadsheet for an extra kick up the ......

AddictedtoCrunchies · 29/05/2013 22:22

Emmie add yourself to the spreadsheet - the link is in the OP. All the pp for the Hairy Biker recipes are on one of the tabs so fill your boots Wink

Thank you, will take a look now Smile

Neeko · 30/05/2013 07:45

Clearly wasn't paying attention when I joined this thread. Have now bought the recipe book after looking at all the low point yummy recipes on the spread sheet. Slow, but I get there eventually! Grin

mrsXsweet · 30/05/2013 09:58

I made a brief appearance earlier on the thread and was doing rather well. I was a pound away from losing my first stone and went away for the weekend. I cam back having put on 3lbs and decided to lose it myself before going to meeting. I didn't I went back to a meeting today and have instead put on 5.5 lbs Sad.
I am so miserable and fed up of being fat but I still can't stick to a diet. I joined a gym yesterday and was feeling really positive but now feel flat.
My mindset is very much that I am dieting so I constantly end up cheating and treating myself, I know I need to make a forever change. Any advice as to how to do this?

AngryFeet · 30/05/2013 14:43

Hello! I have joined WW online and added myself to the spreadsheet. 67 pounds to lose and would really really like to have lost at least half that by the end of Sept as I am a bridesmaid. Have already started exercising. Did a 3 mile fast walk yesterday and my Davina DVD this morning. Going to try and get as much exercise in as I can since I really need to tone up quickly.

At what rate are people losing generally? I am hoping for 2lbs a week (my BMI is 34.2 so hopefully it will come off fairly quickly at the start. My first goal according to WW online is to lose 10lbs so my goal is to do that in the first month then presumably it will slow down after that.

Wish me luck!

DoodleAlley · 30/05/2013 17:32

Well I did my first weigh in and I'd lost four pounds.

Very pleased with myself.

I think the extra points allowance for breastfeeding seems a little excessive for someone as short as me so I didn't en up using all the points. It still feels like a treat to have extra points.

I've always said that I don't lose weight while breastfeeding but seeing as I've lost weight this week on more points than I've ever had seems to suggest I just eat a lot while breastfeeding.

I've got a hell of a lot to lose - about 4.5 stone easily. Can't believe i got that big in nine months. Quite ashamed by it.

I'm determined to keep my focus as my extra points get halved once you start weaning so I've only got another four months before weaning starts. I know I can't lose the whole amount in four months but I want to make as big a dint in it as possible.

emmief77 · 30/05/2013 19:26

Is there an easy way of adding Hairy Bikers meals to the WW online tracker? I've gone into Recipe builder, but only gives me option of adding each individual ingredient?? Is there any way of just adding meals with relevant pro point value??

AddictedtoCrunchies · 30/05/2013 22:03

Emmie if you're on a pc you can Add it at the bottom of the page. I've got the android app which is shite so I tend not to use it. Prefer pc. Smile

emmief77 · 31/05/2013 06:35

crunchie thanks, I'll go have a look Smile

emmief77 · 31/05/2013 07:24

Going to start 30 day shred challenge tomorrow... slightly scared that I won't keep going with it... Have started a challenge thread on sport and exercise page... scared.com

AddictedtoCrunchies · 31/05/2013 11:35

You'll be great. I'm doing Race for Life on Sunday with the non runners I've been supporting then my serious half marathon training starts Monday.

I've got one on 24 August, 15 September and 13 October. Bit scared of the work I've got to put in but I've done it before so should be ok. Trouble is it makes me starving all the time. Smile

emmief77 · 31/05/2013 13:08

Wow crunchie respect Grin

poorpaws · 31/05/2013 23:44

Wi tonight and stayed the same (for two weeks) which is ok because if you remember we discussed it on here and thought it was a good idea to add extra ppts and maintain for a while and then I might actually lose some weight. Apparently I've got it all wrong and that is the worst thing I could do.

I spoke to the Area Manager of WW tonight who is also a dietician. She first of all gave me the usual blurb of portion control, exercise etc but when I assured her this was not my problem she decided I don't actually eat enough carbs. I'd upped my protein intake with no real improvement so now I have to increase the carbs as she thinks my mindless evening nibbling (gobbling chocolate and ice cream) is actual hunger, not bordem. I've been to the supermarket tonight and stocked up on muffins (no not the chocolate sort) and crumpets which I have to eat during the evening, which will fill me and I'll end up very thin and beautiful. mmmmm not too sure myself but thought I would report this back to the gang in case it is of any use to any of you. [

If I report back when I'm thin and beautiful you could never hear from me again. Smile

AddictedtoCrunchies · 01/06/2013 07:04

Paws good for you, a lesser person may have given up by now in good for you. It will be interesting to see whether it works because it has to be sustainable. No point losing weight by eating banana, beetroot and brown sauce because that's not a practical combination. I hope you find something that works for you Thanks

AddictedtoCrunchies · 01/06/2013 08:09

Stayed the same again this week. Not too worried as haven't been that strict and am exercising a lot which tones. Half marathon training starts in earnest from Monday and am going to Shred 2-3 times a week for strength and conditioning too. Going on holiday 11 weeks today and first half marathon is 12 weeks today so need to get on it.

Not going to make the '12st 7 by 1 July' challenge but going to aim to get there by end of August. (am 13.8 this morning).

Hope you're all still lurking..somewhere.. Have a great day all Thanks Thanks

jazzcat28 · 01/06/2013 10:15

paws that's interesting about the carbs... I think there's something in that as I have days where I crave bread or pasta and if I don't have it I tend to get a headache and feel ravenous.

crunchie I am in awe of all your running.

I have been a bad jazzcat and not really done WW for the past fortnight. I even had a takeaway last night and heaps of potato wedges in the afternoon. My fortnight has been filled with one night of booze (I'd just finished AF and so knew I wasnt preggo before you say I'm a bad TTC-er!), a krispy kreme donught, jammy dodger biscuits, no portion control on anything and lots of costa coffees at work.

I nearly didn't bother going to WI this morning as I thought I'd put on at least 4lb but DH persuaded me to go and I was pleasantly surprised to have only put on 0.5lb!!! My leader said that was a very encouraging sign - she thinks that although I might have let myself go for the past 2 weeks some of the WW principles must have stuck in my brain as the gain was so small.

So onwards and upwards - I'm going to track religiously this week and shag for Britain and so hopefully I can shed that pesky 0.5lb and a little more by next weekend.
