Right thought I should put up a new thread as we were getting close to filling up the old one!

Useful Notes and Links:

HD = Hairy Dieter's Recipe Book. Circa £7.00 on Amazon and full of yummy low WW point recipes

We share our yummy low point recipes on this thread

We track our losses weekly on this online spread sheet

The spread sheet also has a tab containing all the WW points for every single recipe in the HD book, courtesy of the lovely OhTheConfusion (for working them out) and AddictedtoCrunchies (for having the foresight to paste them in the spread sheet)

Here's to another thread of amazing losses ladies!!

fled - sorry you're struggling at the moment. My advice would be certainly not to starve yourself for the next 36 hours. I'd try to stick to your dailies though and not use any more weeklies/AP.
Re funerals/weddings - it's hard to choose the good options isn't it - even just going out for a meal i feel as if i'm depriving myself occasionally, but it is getting easier (in fact on Saturday i couldn't eat all my main course - i was full, and i found generally it was too rich, which should help next time!). Re the general crap shifts - crap because they are crap or because of the timings? If the timings then would planning before hand/getting out of freezer/etc help?

Jazz it took me a while to work out POAS - but all up for hearing your result! Fingers crossed for you :)

AddictedtoCrunchies · 29/04/2013 16:53

Flatmouse I come on here everyday at least once. This is my lifeline. I don't post too often as I'm quite boring and only talk about running Blush. I didn't do my measurements and I wish I had as my bosoms are decreasing it seems. Need to go and get measured as my bras are gaping a bit. Wearing a dress today which is a lot looser too and managed a sneaky 2 mile run at lunchtime.

Also, I entered the ballot for next year's London Marathon. Don't find out until October but you gotta be in it to win it Smile

Jazz can't wait for the live WW POAS thread!! You need to tell us when you're going to do it so we can all be ready.

Fled, I don't think a size 9 up the jacksie is going to work this time my lovely is it? Sounds like you've had a really disrupted couple of weeks and have got out of your routine. THink you need to focus on two things:

  1. How much you've already lost. No matter how small it still counts
  2. Why you want to lose weight

Your weigh in is Wednesday so just accept you're going to gain. Then if you do, you're already prepared for it (and if you don't you'll be chuffed. Between now and then you need to stick to your daily points by making good choices. Try and get out to do some exercise and see what happens.

When DS is ill and on Calpol, I always set myself a zone of midnight to midnight so that I don't exceed the number of doses. Perhaps you need to do that when you're on funny shifts? Then your app will click over at the same time? Just a thought.

Sending you Brew and Flowers though.

Doretaball · 29/04/2013 19:45

Hi all. Managed to survive another day. Weigh in this morning was 11.3.5 so a STS for me. Was pleased as i thought i may have amother gain. Only blip today was a homemade cupcake, which given it was made pretty much by 2yr old DD, was surprisingly yummy!

Am psyching myself up for running again. OH has started new job and doesn't get home most nights til really late. Not sure how to motivate myself for a run at 9pm and then I would hardly see him. Excuses, excuses!!!

Was also wondering whether I should get an exercise DVD. Might have more motivation to do that as soon as I've put the girls down. Any recommendations?

fled - could you drink lots of water over the next few days, should help minimise any water retention you may have after eating rubbish for a while. Will also help you feel fuller.

Very excited about a POAS thread jazz - have you any inklings? I remember feeling sick for about 3 days very early on. I convinced myself it was too early to be morning sickness and that I was just being silly. Looking back, it must've been around the time I conceived. Same thing happened with DD2. Sending lots of baby vibes your way!!

Hope everyone has a good day tomorrow.

backinaminute · 29/04/2013 20:24

I'm still here too, also a regular checker but usually one handed while feeding so can't post. Let's keep it going, I will try and post more too.

Fled - I totally agree with the planning. I also find having a snack structured into my plan (at times I know are tricky) helps - caramel snack a jacks are a saviour for me.

Jazz - I am sending baby vibes too, oh how exciting, let's hope........

Well I am trying to be super good as I made a pork dish on Saturday night that I couldn't work out the points for but it was lots (got a bit giddy throwing in lots of different ingredients that I didn't keep track of) ...... And tomorrow, I am going to an actual pudding night. A tiny main course (very sensible, portion control at it's best Grin) followed by 4!!!! Puddings. There is a big group of us and it's been booked for ages. I really wanted to go for the social aspect but there is no chance of sensible food choices as it's a set menu. Other than Saturday night (but I did have 20 dailies left) I haven't used any weeklies so I'm hoping it won't be too damaging. 0 point soup for lunch I think.

On the plus side, I completed c25k today - I ran a full 30 minutes for the first time in my life. I'm so pleased, I think I might enter Race for Life and actually run it.....

I'm hoping the running will offset the puddings.......oh well, I'm going to have a lovely time and hope to STS this week. Saying that I would so love to loose 2lbs because then I would have lost 3 stone and finished C25k in the same week. Not very likely though but I will be happy either way.

TWinklyLittleStar · 29/04/2013 20:50

Hi, I would like to join if you wouldn't mind. I could do with shifting around 2 stone, and have my first weigh in tomorrow evening so I'll know exactly how much. I've gained about a stone and a half since I met DH, and I've just been diagnosed with PCOS, which makes it harder to lose weight but losing weight is the best way to reduce symptoms apparently.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 29/04/2013 21:03

back that's great running well done Thanks

Welcome twinkly

I just went out for tea and had pudding. Damn my shite willpower. Sad

jazzcat28 · 29/04/2013 21:13

Thanks for all the positive vibes! Am probably being far too optimistic but have had some spotting which could be implantation bleeding so anxiously waiting until next Saturday to test. Am feeling a little different but no classic signs just yet.

Welcome Twinkly - I have pretty much almost lost 2st in 4 months (2lb to go) so if you mentally prepare for an average of half stone off each month you'll be about right.

I had the most awful stir fry for dinner tonight. King prawns (yum), egg noodles (yum), stir fry veg (ok), Blue Dragon sweet chilli and garlic sauce (yuk). 2pp wasted on salty tasteless gunk in my opinion!

After 4 months of porridge for breakfast every weekday I'm getting a little bored. I have eggs in various forms at the weekend but need something i can take to work and eat at my desk for the week.

What do you guys have?

OP posts:
backinaminute · 29/04/2013 21:22

I'm also in a porridge lull. I pimped it up with a teaspoon of chocolate philli this morning. I usually have it with either a mashed banana or grated apple (and a 0 points teaspoon of golden syrup).

I've had the fruit ryvitas for breakfast with choc philli. Also had a slice of toast with low fat peanut butter and a sliced banana. I can't stomach skimmed milk on actual cereal so that's a no go for me. Watching with interest.........

I went to mcdonalds for breakfast and had oats so simple (check out my haloGrin) with half a pot of syrup and it was delicious - worth 7pp, I really miss proper milk.

Furball · 29/04/2013 21:43

Have a shufty on this blog

I'm half way through grabbing ideas, so hence the random page

but there's a fab breakfast where bagel halves are magically cut in half again to create 2 bagels giving the look of a big breakkie

My breakfast? well that will put you off eating for good. - 1 oz of ready brek made with hot water and a splash of milk and a spoon of sugar.......its easy and fills a hole. I have a banana mid morning and I also try and have S & V snack a jacks to curb any junk craving.

Furball · 29/04/2013 21:49

here's the bagel and only 7pp

Livinginorganisedchaos · 29/04/2013 22:00

I have been a bit crap about posting too recently. I had my first weigh in where I hadn't lost any weight on Friday but hadn't gained either. I guess I am not surprised as I have not been pointing and really have relaxed my eating a lot at weekends.

Struggling to stay motivated if I am honest. I am only 2 lbs off target, fit into all my clothes and feeling quite bored with pointing .

Part of me wants to lose a few more pounds but maybe I just need to have a break for a while.

I love this thread though so am not signing off completely but may just write off this week and try to start again this Friday.

On the plus side I did buy a pair of size 10 skinny jeans this weekend which made me feel fab. Got to love WW!

backinaminute · 29/04/2013 22:25

Furball - that blog is amazing. I'm going to have a proper look tomorrow but I've already earmarked some 0pp recipes. Thank youThanks

Neeko · 30/04/2013 11:28

Great blog! I already have my bananas in the freezer to try the ice cream on there.

I am also on here everyday but usually on my phone. I haven't got the hang of all your names yet and can't scroll back on my phone, so then I don't post!

Looking forward to the poas live event though!

I'm sorry that a few of you have lost your focus. I personally think it can be exhausting to log everything you eat long term and think sometimes your body needs a break. Don't beat yourself up over it. I'd say allow yourself a guilt-free day or two then begin again like a new member. You're only human.

As for the person who is only 2lbs from goal (sorry can't remember name) I'm assuming you're already within the weight range for your height? If so, tell your leader you've changed your mind and want your current weight to be goal. That gives you 5lbs to play with without paying and you'll probably find you lose the 2lbs when you take the pressure off.

Breakfast here is generally a wee sachet of porridge or 2 slice of toast and banana. Sometimes I'll have a ww sausage sandwich or poached egg on toast.

My weigh in is today. I'm confident I've lost but probably no more than a pound. Slow and steady, eh?

Brices · 30/04/2013 12:50

I lost 5 pounds!! Very pleased, the leader did say this doesn't happen every week, if only....
For breakfast I was having hot cross bun with butter but that's too many points now, so I bought some special k red berries which was 3pp and this morning I had a WW chocolate cereal bar which was 2pp.
Takes a lot of mental focus this watching weight business. Think I need to be more organised as I eat something then realise I've not got many points left. But it works, really thrilled to have found something that works

Neeko · 30/04/2013 13:36

Excellent Prices Well done Smile

I lost 1.5lbs this week so I'm pleased too

Neeko · 30/04/2013 13:46

Brices Sorry auto-correct Blush

TWinklyLittleStar · 30/04/2013 17:42

Well done on all the losses

I am about to go for my first 'official' weigh in and am bricking it a bit, even though I've weighed myself on the Wii so it shouldn't come as too much of a shock.

NoWayNoHow · 30/04/2013 18:22

Hi all, welcome Twinkle - good luck for your first WI!

Brices, that's an amazing loss, well done!

Jazzcat, fingers crossed for you!

After such a great loss last week, I managed to use all my weeklies over the weekend. Managed to stick roughly to dailies yesterday, but today my colleagues brought in cake for one of their birthdays which would have been easy to say no to what with my wheat allergy. But one of them brought in gluten free chocolate cake bars! I couldn't say no, they bought them especially!

So that was dailies out the window as already had lunch and dinner factored in. And DH has brought home a bottle of wine to have with dinner tonight.

So today is a complete write off - I just need help not to make the whole weeks write off!!

NoWayNoHow · 30/04/2013 18:23

Oh, we'll done Neeko too!

TWinklyLittleStar · 30/04/2013 20:06

NoWay I think it really genuinely would have been rude to refuse the cake bars. Can you do some activity over the next few days to make it up?

I'm 13 st 7 Blush Not the heaviest I've ever been but I've gained a full stone in the last 2 years. Eek. Laser beam focus time!

AddictedtoCrunchies · 01/05/2013 09:20

Twinkly how did you get on??

I had an argument with a box of Celebrations last night. They won. It's all going a bit wrong this week... But onwards and upwards.

PiHigh · 01/05/2013 09:37

Can I join you? I did WW last year and lost over a stone then had a really bad bout of tonsilitus and never quite got back on it and have piled the weight back on ShockBlush. I've attempted to start Bootcamp but found it too hard so decided to rejoin WW. I'm just doing it online and I think Dh is going to do it alongside me.

Furball · 01/05/2013 10:14

I've been a bit piggy this week - which is not good on only my second week.

But......I've just been and tracked it and it's only eaten into 10 of my weeklies. [phew]

Will be on my best behaviour today and tomorrow at least - WI tomorrow night. But am away for the BH weekend, self catering, so will plan accordingly.

Furball · 01/05/2013 10:15

and welcome pihigh Smile

fledtoscotland · 01/05/2013 12:55

Well I've WI and only gained 1.5lbs which is amazing. Was psyching myself up for gaining 5-6lbs

Had a chat with the leader about loss of motivation which helped. Also spoke to one of the helpers who I know from school. Her son has ASD and DS1 is being assessed by cahms on Friday for ASD/ADHD so had a bit of a cry there

I think I've had so much going on and thinking about others rather than myself and my diet

So have plonked DS2 in front of Peppa pig and am looking through recipe book whilst drinking WW 0 points soup
