Right thought I should put up a new thread as we were getting close to filling up the old one!

Useful Notes and Links:

HD = Hairy Dieter's Recipe Book. Circa £7.00 on Amazon and full of yummy low WW point recipes

We share our yummy low point recipes on this thread

We track our losses weekly on this online spread sheet

The spread sheet also has a tab containing all the WW points for every single recipe in the HD book, courtesy of the lovely OhTheConfusion (for working them out) and AddictedtoCrunchies (for having the foresight to paste them in the spread sheet)

Here's to another thread of amazing losses ladies!!

What have I done Sad

Night before weigh in, I'm tired and I've just eaten ..

a greggs sausage roll one if the ones you cook yourself

a cupcake

numerous chocolate biscuits

and loads of sweets in work

Way way over my points, why do I do it Sad

Doretaball · 26/04/2013 23:03

Had a better day today. Thanks for all your messages. I think I need to focus on short term goals. I'm meeting a load of friends in 2 weeks who I haven't seen for a couple of years, so I want to be feeling confident. So every time I think about eating, I think about that and also having to come back on here and admit another rubbish day! That's kept my from raiding the bag of Cadbury Animals I bought for Dd1 as a treat!

Thank you very much again, it does seem doable with all your support.

Taking it one day at a time.

poorpaws · 27/04/2013 01:26

So I weighed in this evening, a gain of 1.5 lbs! Could have been much more I suppose considering the week I've had. You'd think I'd have been better tonight with a result like that, but noooooo I've eaten half the contents of the fridge, my cupboards and my reserve stack of chocolate. I'm even having a glass of wine tonight and I don't drink!

Mmmmmm so if I don't get back on track tomorrow, I'm having a break. Had a very supportive meeting so maybe that will help.

Well done to everyone else, you are doing great and keep it up. I'm just not in the right frame of mind at the moment and even the Chrunchie line isnt working for me. I certainly don't want to bring negativity to such a great group, so hey positive thoughts tonight and I'll be reporting back tomorrow night.

Well done to all of you.

mummytowillow · 27/04/2013 08:20

Just weighed and stayed the same, not surprised though Wink

I'm back on it today and determined to stick to it!

AddictedtoCrunchies · 27/04/2013 08:34

Just weighed and another lb off. That's 15 now. Slow but steady..

Have a great day all

Poppywillow · 27/04/2013 08:59

Hello,

Would it be ok if I joined? I started ww online 3 weeks ago but haven't got enough willpower to actually diet which is ridiculous! We have a wedding to go to on 8th june and I so desperately wanted to have lost weight for it but my excuse is that i have a very active two year old and a ten week old baby who has had an almost constant cold since he was born. He gets very blocked up at night so I am only getting about 4 hours sleep a night and eating to try and give me energy to play with my little boy. I am sure once with the change in weather this will be the last cold of the year!

I wanted to join a ww group but they are in the evening or when we are at groups & I just dont have the energy to go anywhere once ds1 is in bed!

I promise I won't moan about being tired everyday!

Doretaball · 27/04/2013 10:00

Hi Poppy, welcome! There are a few of us on here with toddlers and babies. Mine are 2.5 and 6m but dd2 was 12w when I started. I feel your pain about the sleep deprivation and constant colds.

I'm having a bit of a blip at the mo but have lost 20 odd lbs since January. I'm playing with the same 2-3lbs at the mo but will get back on track thanks to this lot!

On my good weeks, I found the key was to be organised, so that when you're tired you don't have to think about it - have lots of fruit on hand, cut up salad/veg in fridge so you can just grab that rather than choc or biscuits. I have also walked my two half way around the world this year, that has really helped.

Good luck to everyone this week

Well done Crunchie - you're on a roll now!

jazzcat28 · 27/04/2013 10:41

Well don Crunchie, welcome Poppy and to all those who are finding it a struggle, here's a massive kick up the backside Grin

I lost 3.5lb today making my total loss 26lb in 16 weeks. Dead chuffed. I know it's because I haven't drunk any booze this week and I had my treaty pizza night last Saturday immediately after WI and was good all week.

According to WW I won't get to goal until I'm 11st 10 which seems aaaaaages away, but I'm taking it a half stone at a time now.

Am in my first 2ww so who knows - this time next month I might be saying goodbye to you all Sad

AddictedtoCrunchies · 27/04/2013 13:32

jazz I don't want you to go Sad. but Grin. for your reasons. You're doing so well Thanks

Brices · 27/04/2013 14:09

Hi everyone! My first weigh in was on Monday and was awful terrible feeling so heavy. Thanks for the hairy dieters book recommendation I've just eaten the vegetable soup which was very good especially for zero points. Ate out last night at Italian and hoped the 49 weeklies would cover it I chose bruschetta then seafood risotto ( though only ate half) wine (a lot) and an amaretto instead of desert.
Really really hope this diet works my weigh in is Monday.
Great inspiration here, thank you

backinaminute · 27/04/2013 15:48

Hi to everyone.

Poppy - I'm similar, I started in January when ds2 was 5 weeks old (allowed myself Xmas but then joined ww) and ds1 turned 2 in march.

It's actually a really good time to do it. I don't know of you're breastfeeding but if you are you get loads of extra points which is fab. It also makes me plan meals rather than thinking 'what's for tea?' When ds1 got into bed and ending up with a take away. I've pulled our dinner time forward and pushed ds1's back so we all eat together about half 5 or 6 then he goes straight to bed pretty much (and tea is done so I can lie in a darkened room if necessary). I piled the weight on during my last maternity leave and didn't want to do it again.

I also started couch to 5k when ds2 was about 12 weeks old which has really helped too. I go before dp leaves for work and actually gives me a boost and helps me clear my head (and gives me a break for 40 mins).

Despite the lack of sleep I feel like I've got loads of energy. I'm eating lots of healthy food and exercising and I'm much less tired than I was with ds1 (despite being run ragged by a two year old).

If you stick to it, it really does work - I have been strict with myself with sticking to ww and running and since January I have lost 40lbs- 2 to go till 3 stone. If I can do it anyone can Grin

Most excitingly I tried on a dress at My mum's house last night that I have only ever worn once to a ball when I was 18 - it has been too tight ever since and it fitted. I literally can't believe it. I am officially the slimmest I have been my whole adult life. Hurrah for ww!

For all those struggling, don't think that all is ruined, just start again from now and get back on the wagon, it will be worth it (especially if it ever gets warm and a certain level of flesh exposure is required). Smile

backinaminute · 27/04/2013 15:50

I meant to say about the meal planning is that once I've planned it's something I don't have to think about and Ds1 isn't eating Peppa pig pasta on toast everyday (much to his disappointment) which is how it went when ds2 was born.

Neeko · 27/04/2013 17:30

I totally agree about the planning backinaminute and it also saves a fortune! Well done on your weight loss. You've done brilliantly, especially with such small children. My girls are 6 and 3 now and those early days were so hard.

Welcome to the new girls (though I'm fairly new to the thread myself). Ww is the way to go Smile

AddictedtoCrunchies · 27/04/2013 19:14

backinaminute you're 'm inspiration - that's a fab weight loss. I've been running round like a twat today and am finally sitting down with some wine. A rare occurrence for me but fancied some. DS has his friend over for a sleepover tonight so think I'll need it Grin

Despite the madness I managed a 3 mile run today in around 29 mins so pleased with that. Got caught in a hail storm which wasn't part of my plan! Kept on running though Wink

Have a great evening.

backinaminute · 27/04/2013 19:22

Thank you - a bit of mutual appreciation, your running is mine. I think of this thread while I'm hauling myself along a rainy river bank.

I think the fact that ds2 is a massive chunk who is really demanding food wise that has made it so quick. I can't believe it myself. Also the fact that I know I get 14(!!!!!) extra breastfeeding points has made me feel a bit on a deadline as it's going to get much harder. I take my hat off to those on low points. I feel a bit of a fraud to be honest because of my high points allowance.

Poppywillow · 27/04/2013 19:27

Hi, thank you for your welcomes and advice about planning backinaminute. I need to start doing that as I walk around the supermarket with vague ideas about what to cook then end up spending a fortune and having only a few actual meals the rest is random bits of food that don't go together! Ds1 has gone from having healthy meals and no television (very easy as he has never been particularly interested in it) to me saying every day, shall we watch Thomas for a bit & I have just bought 5 tins of Thomas shaped pasta as it was on offer!

I have tracked all my food which hasn't been particularly healthy but I am breast feeding so do have more points. Having read everyone's posts about doing more exercise and running I think I might try, just lack the confidence to start on my own which is very pathetic really!

Thank you again.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 27/04/2013 19:57

Poppy you can start a running plan with 20 mins a day, 3 times a week Grin. Have a look on our weight loss spreadsheet - the running plan is on there.

Neeko · 27/04/2013 19:59

Try the couch25k nhs podcast if you really want to try running.
For those of you breast feeding, don't feel guilty about the points - you're certainly earning them! Smile

backinaminute · 27/04/2013 20:20

I use the Nhs podcasts. When I first started I went out when it was dark because I was so self conscious but now I've got into it I feel more confident. I kind of think well 'at least I'm doing something' - I think people that exercise regularly don't even notice you. There is a certain sense of smugness too that I carry through the day. Grin I'm actually going to buy some Lycra shorts to wear over the next few days. I would have laughed 3 months ago at the thought I would be doing that.

Also, I do all my shopping online. I bought a delivery pass thing that makes me do it that way (and after one disastrous attempt to got to a supermarket with both boys) it's preferable.

I realised how much of a difference that makes this week because I met a friend in tesco cafe this week and went to buy some wraps - I nearly bought loads of stuff (err custard donuts and cookies - it's the bloody bastard instore bakery again) that I don't even usually think about.

It's made me realise how much money I spent on snacks (crisps, dips etc) too.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 27/04/2013 22:10

The running plan on the spreadsheet is C25k Wink

I shop online too. Else cake, choc, biscuits and wine just jump into my trolley Grin

Neeko · 28/04/2013 12:52

We have a sweetie cupboard here and there's still loads of Easter choc in it. Shock I've put the big kitchen bin in front as a barricade Grin

Poppywillow · 28/04/2013 19:16

Thank you, I will have to start shopping online as I get sucked into buying rubbish while I walk round. I will definitely start running as soon as I can get ds2 to go into his cot at nighttime. I love the idea of being able to get out of the house after the children are asleep & do something just for me. We had friends over for early drinks so have managed to eat quite a few crisps, tomorrow will be a better day!

flatmouse · 29/04/2013 10:23

Is it me, or is this thread slowing down? Some fab losses over the last few days, welcome new WW, and today's a new day for those struggling.

Having started my "increased exercise, lets get running" on Tuesday, i was poorly - so didn't get out again on Thursday. I did however manage to get out on Saturday - and thinking i was going slower, pushed myself more the last 3 runs and knocked 2 mins off my first time, so was quite pleased with that.

Spa day yesterday, and ended up doing extreme zumba (the mirrors were all steamed up by the time we finished!), hula and core & ball. Can feel the ache in the core already - dread to think what i'll be like tomorrow!!
It has made me want to buy a weighted hula though (argos sell) so that i can get hula'ing right (also fab way to burn calories).

WI this morning and i've lost 2lb 8oz - very happy. Also did my measurements today and the butt is decreasing nicely. (Boobs and waist same as 5 weeks ago but both 2" less than at start). The only bad news is that i'm down to 26 pp a day now.

Keep going!

fledtoscotland · 29/04/2013 13:11

I'm really struggling to motivate myself atm. With funerals, weddings and general crap shifts at work I've gone back to the easy option of toast/takeaways etc.

Today had branflakes & fruit for breakfast, low fat noodles with onion/mushrooms/tomatoes for lunch. Tea is fajitas. Didn't WI last week Blush so going to have a horrible gain this week on Wednesday Confused. Mood wise I feel so down I've gone back to old eating habits (although eating less its the same rubbish)

What can I do in 36hrs to minimise the damage.

jazzcat28 · 29/04/2013 14:40

Quick pit stop to say I'm still here and read this thread every day... Please keep posting as it spurs me on!

After my amazing loss on Saturday I went for dinner with friends which included far too many BOGOF cocktails so am writing off my weeklies and trying to get to next Saturday on dailies alone. Am also doing lots in the garden which I think must earn me some APs.

Have 13 days until I can POAS so if you ladies are up for it we could make MN history and have a live WW POAS thread?!
