Well done on loss jack, v good

I went into the Spar to annoy theiving woman buy something and spent ages checking my change. She was like this

cocolepew · 21/05/2010 14:31

I've just bought 4 tickets for the Dr Who tour, £187!! it better be bloody good.

dinkystinky · 21/05/2010 14:49

Wow Coco - for that money I'd be expecting a go or two in the Tardis! Lol at checking your change to annoy the silly thief lady.

Right - those of us losing the will to lose - here are some tips from this month's Zest to boost your fat burning if cutting back on calories isnt doing the job any more

  • swap your tea for green tea (helps break down fat by up to 40%)
  • add chillies (hot peppers make your digestive system work harder, raising heart rate and temperature and calorie burn) to food
  • stock up on b vitamins (e.g. spinach, asparagus, broccoli, melon) - good energy booster
  • breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, dine like a pauper (this is DEFINITELY where I am falling down)
  • eat high protein foods help build metabolism boosting muscle (chicken, fish, eggs or pulses in diet plus strength training)
  • drink iced water (boosts metabolic burn)
dinkystinky · 21/05/2010 17:15

where is everyone? All out stocking up on green tea and chillies?

cyb · 21/05/2010 17:18

I'm just about to order a Dominoes pizza. Dh out on a boys jolly cycling around cornwal.. So he has left guilt pizza money

cocolepew · 21/05/2010 17:21

I've just had sausage chips and a fried egg = yum.

I was sorting out my summer clothes [hopeful] and everything fits this year I was last able to waer them 5 years ago

bobbiewickham · 21/05/2010 17:22

Evenin' all.

Today I have eaten...

Bowl of branflakes.
Three stuffed vine leaves.
Two spinach falafels.
A pile of white crab meat.

Planning on tuna steak and stir fried veg for dinner.

Have had two beers in the hammock, but have had the SHITTEST day imaginable, so medicinal.

BudaisintheZONE · 21/05/2010 17:39

Evenin' all!

Been in zone all day except for the spoon licking when I was making dessert for tomorrow night. Mixed Berry Tiramisu. It is very yummy.

Put on a pair of jeans that I bought in Tesco last summer and have never worn as they were too long. Had bright idea to roll them up. Wore them to school to pick up DS and they were falling down constantly. Ended up around my knees as I was walking up stairs (thankfully this was at home!). I could have been wearing them all winter! What a waste. Thankfully they were cheap.

Feeling slimmer. Hopefully rain will keep off in the morning and I can go for my walk. Going to use my heart rate monitor that DH got me for my birthday.

Dinner here will be steak and salad. As per DH's request.

bobbie - 2 beers in hammock sounds lovely! Sorry you had crap day.

I have just had humdinger argument with DS who has decided he doesn't like my spag bol and was refusing it for dinner. So after some shouting I said it was that or nothing and served it up anyway. He appears to be eating it. Has been told it's that or straight to bed now.

dinky - will start doing those suggestions on your list.

bobbiewickham · 21/05/2010 17:43

Beers were lovely. You doing well, Buda. You in the zone.

JackBauer · 21/05/2010 18:20

oning well there buda.
Been mostly zoning today
Muesli
banana, Apple, inch baguette with marg, 2 chocolate buttons.
Chicken stir fry and small yoghurt

wsent to docs with dd2 as she is not weeing still and was very letharigc this avo and scared us. Of course she perked up and was buoncing around and he was very scathing with me
Went to matalan on way home to spend my £5 off on £30 voucher they sent me for my birthday(!)
Bought this dress as a tunic (it's v short) DH loves it as well, whic is a bonus, this tshirt and some bootcut jeans, all size 18.
Tops fit great, not too tight, perfect fit!
jeans...not so much but they were £9 so I will stick them in the wardrobe until next time.

Undertone · 21/05/2010 18:34

Hello all. I'm back from sunny, sunny Spain. It's sunny here as well, so that's not so impressive, actually.

Quite an eventful trip. Something went wrong with my contact lenses after a night out with the clients so my MD, with whom I was on the trip, had to rush me to Madrid A&E at 3 in the morning because my eyes were agony after I took the lenses out and I couldn't see anything. Turns out I badly scraped my corneas somehow. So I missed the meeting the next day in which we were scheduled to present out stuff to the clients, and I had to sit with my eyes closed in my hotel room until it was time to leave for the airport that evening.

My parents came to pick me up from Gatwick and I'm at their house now. I can see pretty ok now, but everything's still blurry (apologies for typos - and I tried to read all the pages to catch up but I may have to leave that until the weekend!) And it still feels like there's grit or something in my eyes.

Anyhoo - just wanted to share. Bloody contact lenses!!

And I've been feeling so miserable I've been a total biffer. I'm sitting at the computer with a Blue Riband wrapper staring at me accusingly. I also had a massive cheese sandwich and a packet of crisps earlier to make me feel better.

I'll see how my eyes are tomorrow when I log back on - hopefully will be able to read. It's so, so dull not being able to read.

duckyfuzz · 21/05/2010 18:39

oh dear undertone, hope they are ok, sounds painful and frustrating, poor you

well done zoners, my goal is not to biff excessively this weekend

pointydog · 21/05/2010 19:41

I scraped a cornea once. Very sore.

pointydog · 21/05/2010 19:42

Are we still weighing in because I weighed 10st 12 this morning and want to record it before I biff up to 11 again over the weekend.

duckyfuzz · 21/05/2010 19:47

wahay pointy, well done, I did that once n this thread, about 6 weeks ago, haven't seen it again since (apart from when I cheaet)

pointydog · 21/05/2010 19:50

You're kidding. You bounced back up to 11 straight away?

I've been finding that if I manage two really strict days in a week then I lose a bit.

dinkystinky · 21/05/2010 19:57

Wotcha. Cyb I take it that the planning what you eat starts tomorrow - or is the Dominoes pizza planned?

Bobbie - sorry you've had a shitola day. At least its nearly over.

Undertone - youch at your contact lens experience. I've scraped a cornea before and it is painful - both must be awful. Take care of yourself.

Jack - shopping sounds good. My boys always do that perking up before the doctor thing too - most annoying.

Well done to all the other zoners out there.

duckyfuzz · 21/05/2010 19:57

yes, and a bit more am gymming though, which seems to stop me losing

cornsilkcottagecheese · 21/05/2010 20:00

I am ahaving a solero - 99 cals so not too sinful. Can't be arsed to make tea yet -too hot. (have fed ds's)Am having tacos tonight and loads of wine. Have had a shit week so don't care!

cyb · 21/05/2010 21:09

dinky the planning needs to begin straight away (too bad I ate the pizza) feel squidgey round middle

too much bread

have eaten biscuits this week

MUST THINK BIKINI

bobbiewickham · 21/05/2010 21:13

Oh god, was perfect all day and now have had a massive cookie.

And I didn't even enjoy it.

I'm off to bed in a minute.

dinkystinky · 21/05/2010 21:39

Bobs - diet another day. Today sounds like a shocker which threw you out the zone - go to bed, get a good nights kip and zone away tomorrow. And one cookie is not the end of the world - though remember next time you're tempte how much you didnt enjoy the one today.

Cyb - I went for a walk in the sun and wander round shops at lunch time and popped into M&S and have come to the conclusion that the vast majority of their current stock is bleurgh and that their shoe selection is on the whole bleurgh - the ones you link to which you buy are definitely the cream of the crop. Mind you, also popped into H&M, Next and Gap and nothing in any of those caught my fancy either.

Oh and weigh in at gym showed have put on 2 lbs. Ho hum. Still around 10lb down from starting weight I guess.

CheeeseOnToast · 21/05/2010 21:57

thanks for the words of encouragement earlier btw. Bobs and dinky i think hauled me back from the brink of serious biffing and jumping off the wagon for good. What is getting me down is that i'm not feeling any different in the body - so although I've lost (a frankly pathetic) 1.5lbs in six weeks my body feels the same I think. clothes don't look better. But I just need to stop whinging, keep going (and stop eating snacks that I tell myself don't count ) - and keep on going to the gym.

Well, thats what I was thinking, but then I was given a copy of the Idiot Proof Diet (India Knight and someone else) and I wondered if anyone here had any experience of it? I got the recipe book rather than the full book on the actual diet theory, so it only covers the basics of the diet before introducing the recipes. It looks good, but not particularly healthy? Is it just a tweak on the Atkins?

Bobbie - beers in a hammock sound great. sorry you had a crappy day though.

Undertone, ouch, eyes sound sore. I've never had a scratched cornea but it sounds awful.

Well done everyone else sticking in the zone

JackBauer · 22/05/2010 07:26

Happy Birthday To Me!

Undertone, that sounds horrible, hope you can see to read this today.

Cheeese, afaik it is just a tweak on atkins pig2twig is their site so might be worth having a mooch on there to see.
Don't be disheartened, you might still be snakc biffing (which is probably what makes the difference, sorry) but at least your head is getting in the right zone, just needs your hands and mouth to follow, I know, I;ve been there!

Got pressies, gorge purple beady neckalce and bracelets from my mum, and a pyramid charm from egypt, sisters each got me vouchers, amazon and MandS, so handy for shopping later. Not got DD@s pressies yet as DH is still in bed, but I suggested it as he as up all night coughing and I was awake anyway bastard birds

have a lovely day! NO BIFFING WHILE I AM OUT.

(I will, but it's my biffady so is allowed)

gherkinwithapurplemerkin · 22/05/2010 08:22

Happy biffday, have lots of fun

I've put on 2lbs this week .Not sure why though I have been ovulating very painfully so might be connected?
