tea? [boak]
black coffee is nice, but not from maccy's.

Oh well

CheeeseOnToast · 13/05/2010 13:42

So are those flitfops any good then? I've thought about those, but they're slightly on the ugly side so I've never actually bought any. BUT if they give me a pert derrier I might be persuaded.

I read something yesterday that 'flat white' was the new 'in' coffee which is espresso with heated full fat milk. the fat in the milk is meant to give a nice creamy satisfying drink

I am trying to ignore latte cravings however and I even had green tea yesterday afternoon, which wasn't all bad! So I might partake in some later.

Soup was ok for lunch, far too filling though so I left about half. Then had a nana and some cranberry juice. Felt like I'd had a 'sweet' from the cranberry so felt ok with that. I'll have an apple and green tea for afternoon snackage, and pray that leaves me with enough energy for the gym.

Feeling all zoney today.

CheeeseOnToast · 13/05/2010 13:43

haha I meant fitflops!

cyb · 13/05/2010 13:44

My dad used to do deliveries of salt and shake crisps from the factories and would nick bring home boxes and boxes of them Once my packet had 8 sachets of salt in

CheeeseOnToast · 13/05/2010 13:47

ooh Cyb! 8! I used to love those.

My other faves are pickled onion monster munch and salt and vinegar chipsticks.

Must stop thinking about crisps.

Crisps

dinkystinky · 13/05/2010 13:48

Cheese my friend - if you're massively upping your exercise quotient you need to up your cal intake (only a little bit and in a good way) to ensure you have energy for the gym by having a little snack abit before you go to the gym. Otherwise if you zone it and massively gym it you run the risk of becoming a bit erm Hannah Waterman-esque. A skinny latte is fine - lots of protein in the milk and around 100 cals - if you're craving a latte. Would suggest building in a nana before or after gym too.

Fitflops a total flop in my book - only think that will give me a pert derrier

dinkystinky · 13/05/2010 13:49

Sorry posted mid-post - only thing that will give me a pert derriere is lots and lots of bloody squats.

CheeeseOnToast · 13/05/2010 13:57

je deteste le squats.

think you might be right about the calories though if i'm exercising more... maybe one of those nut bars at about 4pm? What do we think of these Eat Natural bars? Quite high in cals but mainly nuts, is that good for pre gym snack? Or maybe another banana is better?

CheeeseOnToast · 13/05/2010 13:58

oh and what's the Hannah Waterman effect? I know she lost weight but whats bad about her reducing cals and exercising?

bobbiewickham · 13/05/2010 14:00

You go from looking like a buxom wench to a pinch-faced granny with stringy arms, I think.

cyb · 13/05/2010 14:03

cheese I dont like those eat natural bars...so sugary. I was given one the other day and it make me have cats bum mouth

CheeeseOnToast · 13/05/2010 14:04

haha, oh right. Will try and avoid that then

Although to be honest I would give anything for stringy arms, mine are all fat and wobbly. I had a personal training session once yonks ago, and they did a fat measuring test with those calipers, and even the trainer was shocked by how swingy my underarms were at such a young age (i was 22), with a reasonable body otherwise. they really are quite a feature

BudaisintheZONE · 13/05/2010 14:06

Will you lot STOP talking crisps! And custard creams - was that you Snice? Give em up! You will get shouted at here for things like that.

Bought myself some fitflops when volcanoed in Dublin. Mainly because I live in flipflops in teh house in summer and last year my cheap Sainsburys ones left me with really bad pains up the backs of my ankles and legs. So I figured not enough support or too flat so bought fitflops this year. Haven't tried walking any major distances in them but live in them in the house.

Jack - a Maccy's cappuchino won't do that much damage I don't think. I hope not anyway as that is my treat of choice now if I end up there. Had one with my chicken salad on Tuesday.

Agree with Dinky Cheeese - would also suggest more protein if upping exercise.

I didn't have soup. Again. Didn't have the bags of frozen veg in my freezer that I thought I had! And didn't have other veg. Need to go shopping.

So for lunch I had 2 hard boiled eggs chopped with some cherry toms, a spring onion and some low fat mayo, all on a slice of rye bread.

About to go and get DS from school - just having a mint tea before I go.

Walked dog for 45 mins. 3,000 steps and 1.3 miles according to pedometer. Need to up that hugely i think to shift weight.

DarrellRivers · 13/05/2010 14:14

Hello all, I can't keep up, but am still here, trying to keep up

Had major depressed tired biffage yesterday involving tin of M+S biscuits, and some Milk tray, so am dreading tomorrow
But it was so so so good (proabbly needed it)
Am back on carrots now

cyb · 13/05/2010 15:20

ladies I'm sensing a slightly tired vibe to this thread

Lets say what % of 'in the zone' we are

I reckon I'm 70% at the moment

I'm eating too many carbs and sugary stuff is starting to creep in at times

Hurumph

Aitch · 13/05/2010 15:29

apart from the jelly baby (which was really an act of heroism, it was dd2 who found it and i cuoldn't be arsed cleaning her teeth again), i am in the zone. i'm tired of cooking, though, fo sho.

DarrellRivers · 13/05/2010 15:30

6/7 X 100= (runs to get calculator)

86% in the zone

(but feels eats quite a lot of bread at lunchtime so perhaps knock off 10% for that )

grand total

76% IN THE ZONE

BudaisintheZONE · 13/05/2010 15:37

Well I think I would have to say that this week I have been 95% in the zone - only none zone food I have had was 1 and a half digestive biscuits the other night. And one tortilla last night and the fajita mix has sugar and wheat in - both of which I am meant to be avoiding.

dinkystinky · 13/05/2010 15:38

Monday and Tuesday was in the zone. Yesterday and Today am in the lurgy hinterlands. Tomorrow I will be hopefully better and zoning it big style as have day of blitzing planning shite for house works planned. Fun fun fun. No gyming for me until better either so have to pull back to the zone.

Cheese - Bobs was spot on in her explanation! I'd avoid those nut bars as full of sugar (albeit mostly in sucrose/fructose form). I think a nana and oat cakes - or handful of nuts (note - little handful! Not whole pack) - or apple and yoghurt - are ideal pre or post gym snacks - take about an hour or so before hitting the gym. Also, skinny latte is a nice post gym treat (and is protein in there too which is always good).

Re arms - my arms are quite toned but I still have bingo wings (albeit more winglets nowadays). Tricep dips are the bomb in getting those down.

bobbiewickham · 13/05/2010 15:45

I'd say I've been 90% in the zone this week.

I've eaten quite a lot, but all good stuff.

I'm feeling it again.

dinkystinky · 13/05/2010 15:48

Hurrah Bobs. Have borrowed the DC's art kit to lie on my sick bed to make this gold star to give to you for your heroic fortitude in pret this morning. > Ta dah! I sprayed it with germolene and everything to de-lurgify it...

Themasterandmargaritas · 13/05/2010 15:49

I'm at about -3.2% in the zone. Blame it on the alcohol. And the fact that it's raining all the time. I'm not a very good role model, sorry.

We are however, after eight years in the NIT zone. I feel strangely elated at having our first nit incident ever. It's a bit like a rite of passage.

dinkystinky · 13/05/2010 15:49

Did you catch them off Coco TMAM?

Themasterandmargaritas · 13/05/2010 15:52

S'alright I gave her some lurgy in return.

cocolepew · 13/05/2010 15:53

I'd say Im 90% in The Zone (maybe more . I'm eating too many carbs and my treat is them Natures way granola bars, oats and honey. It's the only sweet thing I eat.
