J Lo says...'Just like anybody I try to watch what I eat - there's no big science to it, which is what sucks.

'One of the good tricks is to have a goal - for me it may be getting in shape for a video shoot.

'The other is portion control. I love to eat everything and you pretty much can - a little piece of something fattening is not going to kill you. It's when you eat the whole box that it's going to kill you,' she tells the magazine.
IF It's GOOD ENOUGH FOR Jenny from the block its good enough for us

er, and she runs triathlons...

CybilLiberty · 04/05/2010 22:43

got this dress, its so great, i love it

CheeeseOnToast · 04/05/2010 22:45

Yeah, that and the mobile diet chef, personal trainer, beautician, stylist, super-duper-clothes-lenderers and gawd knows what else

She makes it sound so easy, which is a little unfair I think on the average woman.

In the Cheeese household today biffage has been kept to a minimum. Porridge for breakfast, I grabbed a 'slim' wrap from Pret at lunchtime as I was whizzing around town and then dinner was two fish fingers and a load of steamed brocolli. Was delish. No snacks, but quite a bit of water. Munchies are beckoning though, and I need to stay up late tonight as DP is away, flying home tonight but the flight doesn't land until 23:30 and he didn't take his blummin' keys with him, so i'll have to wait up.

And, I have some news to tell him... I've got a job!!! All the work experience I've been doing has paid off, I was in the right place at the right time and scored a brilliant job!! I'm super excited!! Start on Monday! Whoop-de-woop!! It's technically a temp position and I am doing a month's "trial" but we won't let those little details get in the way. WOOOOO!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

CheeeseOnToast · 04/05/2010 22:48

Oh and as we're comparing dress purchases I bought this little number yesterday. It is really flattering. Straps cover bra straps and it cinches in at the waist. Its more 'sunny Sundays in the park' rather than 'posh do' though.

well done Cheesey

And I still think despite all her 'Dont be fooled by the rocks that i got' shite her diet rules are good

CheeeseOnToast · 04/05/2010 22:49

Thanks Aitch

And Cyb - and can I add: you looked stunning in that orange dress! (saw the pic on profile at about half 7!)

Aitch · 04/05/2010 22:53

i heard you looked like a big fat carrot, cyb. [challenging]

i do like that black and white, it's on my list of things to try on. although as a confirmed apple am wary of all but the perfect frock.

CybilLiberty · 05/05/2010 07:29

HEY! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOBBIEWICKHAM

cocolepew · 05/05/2010 07:54

Well done cheese

Happy Birthday Bobbie!!

ZoneArmatrading · 05/05/2010 08:13

Happy birthday bob. Have an ace one.

Cyb I was working like a nut last night and finding site really time outy so missed pics. However, I did dream about you

In my dream, your dress was a sort of tangerine cream satin with a Peter Panish vibe and you looked like Siouxsie Soux. Am I close???? There was also a bit where we were both at a meeting with Bernard Cribbins and it was clearly lunchtime and he insisted on making us and the other people sandwiches but it wasn't in a nice way it was a bit controlling and point scoring. You and I had better ideas about buying lunch in but decided to be diplomatic.

So, so glad I'm sharing this

ZoneArmatrading · 05/05/2010 08:14

Bobbie what are your plans for the day. Need full timetable?

CybilLiberty · 05/05/2010 08:16

ZONE ZONE ZONE
yes Peter pan was my fashion watchword that night! Have a quick peek

ZoneArmatrading · 05/05/2010 08:26

Oh proper lovely. Tres chic and slimcea.

I dreamt of that moment, damn it!

So good to get closure on these important things...

ZoneArmatrading · 05/05/2010 08:27

God you really can do orange. Presents look good too.

isthatporridgeinyourzone · 05/05/2010 08:41

Happy Birthday Bobbie!

dinkystinky · 05/05/2010 08:54

Happy Bob-day Bobs - hope you have a fab one. You're allowed to biff on your birthday you know.

Cheese - fantastic news on the job front - and the joining a gym front. Enjoy being a lady of leisure for the rest of this week.

Cyb - dress looks nice and will show off your slim figure beautifully. New look dresses always look naff on me - I'm just not the right shape for them I think. Even when I was an early twenties fishstick they looked rubbish on me.

Porridge - I have done 1 day of the Ossom dvd so far Have scheduled in day 2 tomorrow night (as have boxing with personal trainer tonight).

BudaisintheZONE · 05/05/2010 08:54

Happy Birthday Bobbie!

Right. Have caught up on what I missed yesterday.

Dress v nice Aitch. V. pretty and summery.

LOL at Shiney popping in and wife swap/brat camp suggestions. I was on Shiney thread for short time but I need Strident Su's straight talking rather then everyone being nice when i biff.

Period pains from 4am. Lovely. Bloody menopause. Had huge 6 month gaps at one stage. Now every month again and with cramps which I haven't had for years. Do I need to get checked out do you think? Oh and stomach feels enormous and bloated.

Took DS to school and told teacher what had happened etc. Then find out that they have optional SATs in 2 weeks! Had no idea and DS will still not be able to write. Great.

DS feeling very sorry for himself. "Will be most boring 3 weeks of my life" he says. I am back to wiping his bottom! Met a friend at school who is their football coach and who said "Oh mate - no football tomorrow then". Cue DS trying manfully to hold back tears. Poor love. His gang are football mad. Have also had to cancel drum lessons and exam.

Just had b'fast. Slice rye bread toasted with peanut butter and a banana.

Oh! Friend asked me yesterday if I had lost weight! Said she noticed when i got back from Dublin but didn't get a chance to say! Yay!

Oh again - didn't realise Works and Pensions got banned. Wow.

fishie · 05/05/2010 08:57

happy birthday bobbie!

shame we cannot see shoes cyb.

mum has delivered a giant labour party carrier bag full of slightly overgrown broccoli. so that is my diet sorted for a while...

aitch ltd coll stripe has an elastic waistband which was on my mid hip or else had to be worn bouffed up, not flattering for the apple. i wonder whether sherbert would do likewise, that waist looks low.

bobbiewickham · 05/05/2010 09:07

Thanks guys!

How sweet of you all to remember - I'm actually a bit choked here.

Well celebrations started last night when we went to see Peter Kay (v funny).

Today I got some nice pressies - binoculars to watch the birds in the garden , a hat for gardening in , a Vivienne Westwood purse, some flowers and a Cath Kidston flask to take to work (so I don't have to go to Pret and be tempted).

I'm meeting my sisters and best friend for lunch, then going out for tea to the local pub with dh and the boys.

So a nice biffing birthday!

Must dash - will catch up with thread tomorrow.

Love to all!

DarrellRivers · 05/05/2010 09:13

Happy birthday Bobbie

Have a more fun day than me, I am off for a scale and polish

See you losers later

dinkystinky · 05/05/2010 09:13

Buda - meant to say, poor DS (and poor you with all that stress). I broke my little right finger a few years back playing 5 a side footie and didnt get it strapped and carried on life as normal (including sport and typing/writing etc.) but it was painful - however its got a delightful nobble in it now so definitely the right thing going and getting it strapped. Reckon DS could probably do some stuff (not drumming though) in a week or so's time if he wanted to.

BudaisintheZONE · 05/05/2010 09:19

dinky - DH says that the docs err on the side of caution and that he will be able to use it within a few days. We'll see!
