THREAD 2.

Can you believe the first one filled up so quickly?

OP posts:
GettinTrimmer · 27/02/2010 12:01

Morning ladies

Blondes at first glance I thought you were having a bed and breakfast buffet! Just too tempting not to have a couple of platefuls, all that choice, have a night off from your points .

When you're on again, I remember you saying you lost 4 stone with ww, 2 stone went back on again (a bit well done again for your stone loss!). How did you go about keeping the 4 stone off? Every time I lose weight it goes back on again. Did you do their maintenance plan?

PBM At the moment I am just looking at the sticky hand prints and just thinking of cleaning them off Have they sorted your ds out with inhalers, etc? How are you?

Bebe hope your throat gets better soon.

I went running this morning, slowly though, but at least I did it!

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/02/2010 12:41

BEBE sorry to hear your throat hurts, have a gargle with salt water

TRIMMER no maintence plan, just hard work and keeping an eye on it - still weighed every week and if had put on a lb or 2, i would then eat 20p for next 2 days to counter balance it

after a while i weighed monthly as didnt want to get obsessive - if i wanted a pizza, i would eat it, but then good for next few days etc

i swapped all my stuff for low fat, ie diet coke/low fat flora/salad cream light - it really did make a difference - it is also portion size, it may be healty, ie homemade spag bol, but i was having far too big portions - again doing ww made me see that

60g pasta/rice is enough - where i was prob having at least double if not 3 times that

i also was a bit of a pint girl, and now i drink wine or gin&slim

i also give away ALL my size 18 clothes to charity, so again when my clothes got tight, i knew i needed to diet as my size 12's were tight - so i cut back, pointed my food and lost the few lbs that crept on - and stayed like that for 5ish years

i didnt want to buy a size 14 (tho did once or twice ) and i just thought if i didnt do it now, i would be back to where i was 7years ago - fat

some of my 12's fit, others are bloody tight and some (like my soooooooooooooooo sexy suede trousers) dont fit

tbh i am prob a 14/15 - but clothes stretch

laughalot · 27/02/2010 20:11

Bebe be carefull with sore throat I had one recently dident eat for days felt terrible and it was scarlet fever, apparently its going around again after all these years. The only way to get rid of it is with anti bio. Hope you feel better soon.

All I can say is lamb rogan josh eeeeeeekkkk
60 zillion points

mummymels · 27/02/2010 21:27

Very annoying, I wrote a whole long post yesterday and lost my internet connection along with my long posting.

PBM ? I have made lasagne with quorn before pre diet and it is lovely. I did cheat though and used a jar of white sauce. You asked how things are in general. This week I stayed the same but I?m not worried cos it is the first week I have stayed the same since I started Go Lower in October and I realise I can?t go on losing every week. I?m still completely rubbish at exercise!

Bebe ? Would your DH consider Go Lower that I?m doing? It?s also low carb like the Cambridge Diet so you lose the weight quickly but you have proper meals. Go Lower supplies the meals for you and they are sent. There?s no meetings but you do have a counsellor you can talk to.

Blondes ? Don?t worry, I know you were teasing. That?s perfect that you still had points left for crisps after your lasagne. Brilliant on making your first stone and losing all those inches.

Kayzr ? That?s great that you had a good night out. Hope the head is better now.

GettinTrimmer ? It?s so reassuring when people start noticing isn?t it. Thanks for posting that very interesting list of calorie burners. I am going to save it on my computer.

I hope I've covered everyone there.

Poohbearsmom · 27/02/2010 23:15

Mels im glad stayin the same this wk didnt get ya down i know when i stayed the same it made me feel low, i was kinda getting into my dvd but cant exercise since getting sick Trimmer thanks im not gr8 to be honest they started me on more antibods today for a "severe kidney infection" which has more then likely bn caused by all da procedures etc & has bn awful embarassing stil havn my backside dressins changed daily & wil hav to for the time being, tis sore but bareable, lots of other bits n'bobs botherin me but think im jus bein a bit -silly- paranoid... ds1 has being doing mighty on his meds his chest infection is almost clear as soon as his cough is fully gone iv to start weaning him off da treatment/blue inhaler which he's on 4time aday but he has to stay on da preventer/brown inhaler twice aday for da next few months at least he's bn a real star & has loved gettin coke wit da steroids (hosp said they use 7up as they r fizzy tabs that r realy bitter but they turn it pink nd my lads too smart to buy that they now do strawberry 7up... So its bn coke everyday after b.fast here ) laughalot u must tell me what lamb rogan josh is? if its 60zillion pts it must b worth a drool tho Blondes i think thats a really good idea throwin away 'fat' trousers, iv binned a couple & had to wear one of dh's belts on a newish one today as it proper falls off me & i never EVER owned or WORN a belt before hav bn plannin on puttin two newish dressy pants n da dryer to shrink em up a bit if dat fails wil jus hav to inflict buyin new 1's, o woo is me...

Morning ladies

Blondes Thanks for your feedback about keeping the weight off, what's happened with me in the past, I've just relaxed completely after losing weight and put it straight back on again this time I want it to be different.

mummymels I think GoLower sounds better than the Cambridge.

PBM Look after yourself - at least they are putting you on the right medication. Rest when you can and healthy eating with us lot! I bet your ds has loved the coke . Glad he's doing ok.

Jodie Well done on your 2.25lb!

Bebe How's your throat? Hope dh's backside isn't too sore.

Cote Congrats on your stone!

GettinTrimmer · 28/02/2010 10:37

I have found some ww cookbooks in my attic. How about this for a Sunday treat after the (low fat roast dinner!).

Orange Jaffa Surprise
7 points per recipe 31/2 points per serving Serves 2

4 jaffa Cakes, diced
1 orange
150g carton of low-fat ready-to-eat custard

1 Divide the cakes between two glass sundae dishes

2 peel and segment the orange over a bowl so that you can catch the juice. Chop the segments into pieces and scatter over the jaffa cakes. Then pour on the reserved orange juice

3 Spoon the custard evenly over the oranges. Chill for 10 minutes.

laughalot · 28/02/2010 11:31

Well done everyone keep up the good work.

Trimmer sounds num num

Poohbear it was curry very nice but evil on points sob sob.

JaneS · 28/02/2010 12:07

Hello ladies! Ok, I've only lost half a pound this week but I'm thrilled I haven't gained since it's been a week full of people's birthdays/drinks and so on!

CoteDAzur - you're an inspiration! Nice one.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/02/2010 12:53

afternoon, well done on loss's

i sinned again last night , was at a friends 30th and there was a chocolate fountian, as well as ate sausage rolls, chicken kfc things, voluvents and of course wine

so i have scrapped yesterday, i dont even want to know how many points i ate, as it will upset me

so onwards and upwards and blonde will be eating less today and tomorrow

lunch today is my trusty fav - 0 point veg, chicken breast and tin of toms all chopped and cooked - scrummy

good luck with weigh in tomorrow

bebejones · 28/02/2010 14:15

Trimmer - that Jaffa cake recipe sounds scrummy! Might have to give that one a go!

Cote, Jodie & LRD - well done!

DH is still in pain with his broken bum but IMO he can't complain as he isn't actually taking any painkillers!!

I think DH would be better doing something other than Cambridge diet too, but he won't listen to me about that. Plus I don't want to say anything that could backfire & stop him trying to lose weight all together!

DD has winter vomitting virus according to NHS direct! She has had diahorrea since Tues & been a tiny bit sick after food a couple of times. She seemed loads better Thurs/Fri (no temp, less poo, & running around as normal!!) So apart from the dinnertime shannanigans I had on Friday with her (which isn't unusual at all)I thought she was getting over it! But yesterday she woke up from her nap after lunch plastered in poo (sorry TMI) & then about 9.30 last night she was sick all over her cot & was in a right state! She is very out of sorts today. Hoping she improves by 2moro, or I think I may have to ring GP as it will have been nearly a week of D&V! Subsequently I am knackered today & just want to eat cake & stodge & curl up on the sofa. Did loads of housework yesterday & then had no sleep as was so worried bout DD! Had planned for more spring cleaning today but I just don't have the energy! Anyone have any healthy energy giving snack ideas???

bebejones · 28/02/2010 14:18

Also meant to say Blondes am having your veg thing tonight too!!

Oh, and made big vat of celery soup and totted up calories per portion on food focus....35!!!! It's yum & I really like it...maybe I should have double portions!

JaneS · 28/02/2010 14:47

Ladies - can I ask for some suggestions? My DP is trying to lose weight too. He's 16st 2, and would like to be more like 15. At the moment for religious reasons he has to eat a vegan diet, except he can have fish. He always gains weight on this as we struggle to think of healthy food that isn't carb-heavy, or snacks that aren't sugary. Needless to say I buy industrial quantities of fruit to munch on, so he gets quite a lot of calories from that too.

Any good ideas? Or what might he be doing wrong?

Blondes, don't worry, you can't ignore a party! It would be positively bad for your health

Bebe - hope your DD gets better soon. Poor love. Healthy snacks - I'd say sod the snacks, have a bowl of porridge (skimmed milk) with a leetle sugar - but that's just me. It is fantastic for comforting and giving you energy though.

Eddas · 28/02/2010 16:15

afternoon everyone. sorry i've been AWOL but i've been awful food wise i'll weigh in tomorrow and shall begin the diet again. I'm now aiming for a hen night which is Sex and the City themed and I'll need to dress in a posh frock aka Charlotte I will not go to it feeling like a weeble

Sorry I haven't caught up I will do better from now on

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/02/2010 17:15

BEBE your poor dd glad you liked your celery soup

LRD it would have been rude to say no lol

regards your hubby, can he have rice? i love 6og rice boiled with chopped carrots/peppers/green beans and then salmon/tuna mixed in - low on ww works out 6.5p

EDDAS enjoy party and dont worry you will get back into the swing of things soon x

i have just plotted my weight on food fucus and nice to see my weight getting neare the green goal line

bebejones · 28/02/2010 18:46

Blondes - I love seeing the chart line going down too! Have made the leftovers of the roasted veg into a soup......worked really well & is SO good!

Made some sugar free jelly for later, looking forward to it, how sad is that?!

LRD - I find soup really filling & v low in fat if you use fry light. Just had a quorn fillet with my dinner (which was low in fat) with blondes roasted veg. Would he consider that at all?

Eddas - I love SATC! And Charlotte's my favourite!! I'm sure you will get back into the diet soon enough!

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/02/2010 19:46

am i being roasted again - what will mr blondes say lol

i buy sf jelly,as cant be arsed to make it - lazy or what - ive got cranberry+raspberry (think) tonight

good luck everyone tomorrow xx
