THREAD 2.

Can you believe the first one filled up so quickly?

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 07/02/2010 11:41

guess salami, parma ham and mozzarella are high in fat - did you use low fat mozzarella?

hope you enjoyed it anyway, its not so bad losing points on a nice meal (unlike my 8p chinese last week when out for mil birthday)

Kayzr · 07/02/2010 11:46

No I used normal mozzarella. It's because I wasn't at work. DH and the boys have a huge fattening meal when I work late. But I had to change my shift so I ended up being at home for dinner.

It was bloody lovely. But never again. I will have to find a healthy pizza recipe.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/02/2010 12:17

least it was nice and next time use low fat mozzie

cook a chicken breast 2.5p then chop into small pieces - use 1 breats for 2/3 pittas

make a pizza using pitta bread 2.5, either tinned chopped toms, or tomarto puree 0p , add red+yellow peppers 0p ,chicken chopped up and cooked 1p and sprinkle 20g/2 tablespoons of low fat grated cheese 2p and cook - so you have a piza for 5.5p

i often have 2 so 10points in all

obv different toppings will alter the points, you could have pineapple 1p and ham 1p for 6.5p ish depening how much ham/pineapple you put on

Murtette · 07/02/2010 12:27

Hello ladies,

I need inspiring again! I was so pleased to get to 13st and couldn't wait to be 12st something but instead I've gone completely off the rails. I'm still ebf my 16 week old so my body is craving carbs & chocolate and I find it so hard to stick at, for example, one piece of toast rather than have two. I didn't weigh in last week (and have been avoiding you) as I knew I would have put on but hoped to rectify it by tomorrow but a cheeky weigh in just now shows I've still put on 2lbs. Is anyone else struggling - from the posts, you all seem to be doing brilliantly and I am so impressed when I read the weight loss list - some of you are close to losing a stone which is fab!

I know I'm going to have a struggle to stay the same (let alone lose any weight!) over the next couple of weeks as I've currently got a stinking cold, have the NCT meet up at mine on Weds so all the leftover cake will be here and then I'm away for half term. I'm tempted to just see how things go until after half term and then start again as, by then, I'll be doing a couple of exercise classes and DP won't have to work so much at weekends so we should be able to get out for walks. And I'll be able to attend WW meetings.

Any advice/inspiration please?

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/02/2010 12:40

hi murtette, dont give up hope - some of us have had bad weeks recently

think its the been on diet for a month syndrome

assume you are on ww, and therefore think you get 6points extr a day if you are bf

listen to your body and plan around it if it wants carbs

people say that if you want to lose weight to ditch the carbs, i personally think thats bollocks, i ate pasta every day, sometimes for lunch and te and lost 4stone 6.5years ago

as long as it is in your points

b 2 toast 2p, with scrapping of flora light etc 1p, marmite 0p =3p add a point if you have jam/honey

snack banana 1.5

l pitta bread 2.5p stuffed with peppers 0p,chicken 2.5p and tons of salad and then salad cream light/humous 1p= 6p

snack crisps, squares/quavers/skips 1.5/2p

t 60g pasta 3p then have flaked salmon 3.5p or make spage bol, portion of mince 3p and make with tinned toms/stock cube so 0points, and free veg carrots/brocollia etc= 6/6,5p

treat 2 chunks choclate dark is beat/ curly wirly or finger of fudge =2p

so you have eaten 21points a day

plus you then have a few left over for your bf (if you do have extra)

GettinTrimmer · 07/02/2010 12:55

I think you have a point about the carbs Blondes, especially to have the energy to exercise - runners are told to 'carb load' the night before with a dinner of pasta.

Having said that, I find protein really filling, especially eggs/beans, after a baked bean omelette for lunch I am full for hours.

I'm not doing brilliantly this weekend, too many chips with my chinese last night, and we have lots of tempting little cheese selections in the fridge, not to mention the chocolate cornflake cakes. Fingers tightly crossed for tomorrow!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/02/2010 13:04

be good today trimmer, and then tomorrow after you have weighed then have cheese and chocolate

i do think lunch and tea should have carbs, protien and veg

i love ommlettes and do find them filling, but i have a 3egg one so 4.5p, then add onions, toms and ham - no cheese so have 5.5p lunch

arcticwind · 07/02/2010 15:38

Dis - this was in my last weeks tasks - it has helped me disassociate food from feelings (a bit!) Hope it helps

How many times have you looked
for comfort, happiness, safety and
protection from stress?
? In the bread bin, bar of chocolate, crisps, cake and told
yourself you deserve a treat!!
? Afterwards. Do you really think that has made all the difference!
Why do you keep doing what is
making you intensely unhappy?
Ask yourself this...
? If you touch something that burns you, you will always remember and never
do it again, so why do you keep wanting to eat those things that are making
you fat and unhealthy and in turn brings you great anxiety.
? Your happiness, comfort and safety, its not in the fridge or in food.
Write down recent situations that
have cropped up that trigger you to
eat, or give you that urge
List what you need to live a fulfilling life
? Please read these examples and the different outcomes.
You?re feeling great, you have lost some weight, you have put on your fantastic new outfit, you can?t remember the last time you felt so good, you?re out with friends having a good time, it?s a party and the food is all laid out. A nice plate of hot sausage rolls has just been
Story One ? you get stuck into the sausage rolls and say ? oh well I?ve done really well, one night won?t matter.
Story two - you look and think, I am not going to ruin how good I feel, you move away and carry on with your great evening.
Story 1 ? you think, I wish I had not had those sausages rolls, and all the other food I went on to, I really didn?t need it.
Story 2 ? I still had a really good night last night, and I only had some selective foods that I made a decision on. I left the sausage rolls, I feel so positive with myself.

In both occasions, you had a good night out with friends, but the second one was even better, you were in control and you are starting to change your relationship with food , it?s not just about
losing weight, it?s about making long lasting and permanent changes to how we use food In our lives.
Sometimes we need to take a step back and really examine what we do and why we do it.
Changing your relationship with food, long term, will be your steps to freedom. You will never regain your weight and you will live a healthier lifestyle.
Here are some things that are common to eating, think before you eat!
I am tired What you need is sleep, not food
I am feeling sad Do you think eating will sort out the problem?
I am hungry Possibly you?re not, try a drink of water first
I am bored Look at an alternative to do rather than eat, recognise these feelings
Will eating at any of these points really help you?
The answer is NO! Manage your life and change your relationship with food!
A life fulfilled and happy is not one built around food.

arcticwind · 07/02/2010 15:57

Hi all

Piste so sorry about your beloved cat - we have had loads over the years and it is always sad to lose one. We had to have my very first baby out down and it was so sad, and dh's 'baby' was run over when he was away so I had to be the one to tell him

Dis - sorry to hear about your skin, I think the answer about toxins may be correxct - try to just keep flushing out with water and maybe treat yourself to a face mask? I use Clinique scrub which I find fab. How is your hair? If you are short of oils it can go very fine and flyaway, or is it not as affected as your skin? Maybe a multivit supplement might help untl you setle down?

bebe good luck with your Mum next week - mine is OK but as you say very critical. She rarely comes to our house and when she does the first thing she does is clean the loo before she will use it She lives close tho so we see plenty of her

Murtette you are doing well, do not avoid the thread if struggling - I have found inspiration here and sometimes just getting away from the food spiral by posting can help.

Kayzr I am sure the pizza was worth it and if it in your allowance even better, can you be careful for the rest of the day?

I went out to friends last night and had the most wonderful evening - she made 4 different curries all of which were gorgeous; the bns and cocnut was delish, plus chick pea, spinach and a lamb pasanda. Pud was homemade cheesecake and I had far too much. But I stayed off the booze, and overall figured it was worth it after 9 weeks with only a couple of pizzas and Christmas for light relief. Am going to try and be extra good for the next few days and will definitley be walking to and from work this week! It is AF so still hoping to lose a bit by Thursday (not planning to weigh Monday in case I have put on too much and get really despondant).

Disenchanted3 · 07/02/2010 16:02

Thanks for that arctic.

and the water thing is so true, im just having the odd glass of d/coke my hairs gone really greasy

Really odd thing is... I got on the wii thursday, said 'ive gained a bit of weight since last time' (which is less than 1lb) so I was expecting that as I had done crap all week.

SO SINC THURSDAY I TOTALLY WENT OFF THE RAILS AND BEEN EATING BISCUITS / COOKIES / MILKY BARS (OH THA SHAME!!!) Shite caps sorry! i wasn't being that dramatic!

yea, so anyways I get on the wii today expecting another lb on and it says ive lost 2lbs since thursday

Only tomorrow will tell though i guess.

Artic thanks for sharing that i really liked it, it makes alot of sence... Now to drill it into my brain... Blondes thats really interesting about the breastfeeding, im stil bf'ing my ds2 altho he's a big baba of almost 22months & usually has morning, nap time & bedtime feeds but i hadnt actually factored it in at all and didnt tick the box in food focus either, iv wondered if my milk is low fat now though... i know i know in a bit daft... Kayz 19pt pizza that sure must have been finger licking good! If you have spent the rest of the week making up for it im sure it really wont hurt tomorrow, i hope so anyways, fingers crossed for us all xxx

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/02/2010 18:08

good luck everyone for tomorrows weigh in

GettinTrimmer · 07/02/2010 20:07

I'll need it!!

Dry roasted peanuts and xmas cake this afternoon - my willpower has flagged these past couple of days.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 07/02/2010 20:15

Thank you everyone for your kind messages re our poor old cat, much appreciated, really really

Dis I'm so glad to hear your cat survived and is now on the mend - that must have been so sad to find him like that

Blondes - we love hammies too, DD had a gorgeous little ham that we all doted on. They are so cuuuuuuute.

Good luck for tomorrow everyone, can't believe another week has passed. I will weigh first thing, but will probably post at lunchtime, cos Monday mornings are a rush!

Piste x
