Ah Beth, sorry to hear that. Walking is pretty good for shifting weight though, if you do enough... sorry tho that you got that news today esp as your DH is going away. How are you feeling about it?

Shreksmissus - I used ordinary rice cos that's all I had. Pudding rice would be nicer though I think. Maybe baking it with some eggs and quark would be good too if you were trying to recreate a "proper" rice pudding rather than just for breakfast.

Had a syn free day so far today... also had a completely slobby day, really can't get my act together to do anything! Should go out and walk the dog but it's COLD.....

shortandsweet2 · 12/03/2010 16:33

Hi all

Thanks cass, I have had a far better day today

Beth I hope all the tests go well. We are having the SW chips, beans and veggies sausages too. very yummy.

The rice pudding tastes great and will be making somemore tomorrow.

nappyaddict · 12/03/2010 20:00

Can't get syns online to work. Anyone know the syn value of Merchant Gourmet Mi-Cuit Tomatoes - want to put them in my pasta!

Sparkler · 13/03/2010 13:05

Haven't posted myself for a while either Whoops. I'm feeling quite pleased with myself. Lost 7.5lb in four weeks and 5th weigh in coming up on Monday night - don't think it's going to be a very good one though. Struggling a bit this week. Off to read through this thread and pick up some tips. Good luck guys

BethAndHerBrood · 13/03/2010 16:17

I'm not doing very well today. I've just had glass of wine, the first of a few, I feel! So, I am letting myself go a bit today, and picking up again tomorrow. Although, I haven't had many syns this week, so I think I might be okayish??!!

Hello sparkler, long time, no see! Well done on the loss, that's great!

littleyawner · 13/03/2010 20:21

I'm not doing too well today either, my 7 wk old has a cough and has kept me up more than usual . I've been trying to stave off the sugar cravings with fruit but it's just not chocolate .......! Need stodge quick, I think I will go and make the free rice pudding and retire to bed.

Thanks for the inspiration ladies x Hopefully this week will be my "best ever week"

I've been better today, but have just poured a glass of wine. I couldn't face another cup of tea! And, I have chocolate to eat that I got for mothers day. So I HAVE to eat it, my DC would be sooooooo upset if I didn't!!

BethAndHerBrood · 14/03/2010 18:37

I've just had beans and scrambled eggs for my tea. And I shared the chocolate out as dessert. I feel positively angelic now!

Sparkler · 14/03/2010 21:00

I have had the most terrible week SW wise. I've got weigh in tomorrow night and am almost tempted not to go this week. I don't think I want to face knowing I have a gain. I only got my half a stone award last week (total loss so far of 7.5lb) and if I find out I've dipped under that I might get disheartened. Then again maybe it will be the boost I need to get my fat arse back in gear.

For anyone who thinks mullers are a bit on the expensive side Sainsbury's do 3 for £1 on their free 0.1% fat yogurts. Their 4 pack of be good to yourself yogurts are also free.

shortandsweet2 · 15/03/2010 06:14

Hi all

I didn't have the best of days yesterday either. Ah well today is another day

BethAndHerBrood · 15/03/2010 09:47

Thanks nappyaddict, I must get to sainsburys soon!

I'm going out for lunch today - on a MN meet up!! - so I'm not sure how easy it will be to have something "good". But I shall try my hardest, unless I am led astray!

Have a good day everyone, new week, new start. Again!

BethAndHerBrood · 15/03/2010 17:43

When I was out at lunchtime I ordered fish and chips. I ate the fish, but left most of the chips, so I didn't do too bad really. I'm making a paella for my tea, it's cooking now - all free on green. It smells lovely!

shortandsweet2 · 15/03/2010 17:50

I was in asda today and they are doing the packs of 6 muller lights - 2 for £2, very cheap

Today I had the homemade rice pudding, lunch was a chicken tikka jacket and dinner was sweet potato, roasted veg and haddock.

Beth sounds like you were very good

Sparkler · 15/03/2010 22:08

Oooooops 2 lb gain at weigh in tonight
Better sort myself out this week. Food diary at the ready for tomorrow morning.

Casserole · 16/03/2010 17:25

Hello all

Well, have emerged from my birthday scoffing Been out for 3 meals (including a full on curry last night) and have had lots of wine nd birthday cake so goodness only knows how I'l get on tomorrow! Have tried to minimise damage by sticking to lots of free/superfree foods on the days I could. We shall see...

I'm really tired today. Waiting in for an electrician who hasn't shown up and just wanting to EAT! Hanging on and doing an early dinner in an hour... but I'm tired, and cold, and it's hard!

Beth, how are you getting on with DH being away?

Glad the rice pudding idea is catching on
I may have to take out shares in Muller to recoup some of the money I'm spending with them...

BethAndHerBrood · 16/03/2010 20:04

I have been so good today! I took DS2 to toddler group, and they had my favoutite ever biscuits. I didn't have one [angelic emoticon] I feel ridiculously proud of myself!

I had the leftover paella, mixed with baked beans for my lunch. It was an interesting taste But filling.

I am just about to have my tea. A pasta n sauce, with sweetcorn added, with beetroot and a sprinkling of parmasan. Delish!

Thanks for asking Casserole, I'm doing ok upto now. Tis early days yet though! How's everyone doing?

tullytwo · 18/03/2010 08:20

I am doing terribly-have only lost a pound since xmas-keep maintaining or putting on and takin goff the same few pounds-am really panicking about the summer now as I still have loads to lose and I have got caught in this cycle.

I find the weekends so hard -if we go away for the day its really hard to find things to eat -does anyone else find this?

Am determined to stick with it til Easter and see what I can get off!

BethAndHerBrood · 18/03/2010 09:33

Hi tully, yes I have that problem with weekends too! I have changed my weighing day to friday, try not to use many syns in the week, then blow them all at a weekend! I don't know whether it's doing any good, but it makes me feel better!

No such problems this weekend though, I shall only be going as far as the supermarket!

shortandsweet2 · 18/03/2010 09:38

Hi tully, I am the same as you. I lost 3 stone and in the last 6mths I have lost nothing, starting to get depressed about it now.

Casserole · 18/03/2010 10:31

Morning all. Lost 2lbs last week, which for a first week probably wasn't brilliant but considering it was my birthday week and I went out for three dinners and had birthday cake and wine several times I was happy enough with that.

Tully do you mean like packed lunch type things? I tend to take pots of pasta or couscous with veggies and tomato type sauce for tht sort of thing...

tullytwo · 18/03/2010 17:00

Oh thank god I am not alone-have been getting so angry at myself as I was doing so well. I too have lost 3 stone (and a half) and now nothing-keep thinking how much more I could have lost by now if I had stuck to it properly-aaagh!

Think I may do the same with weigh day too-mine is Monday! not so good!
