1st March - Time for a new thread

We can now forget/capitalise on the first two difficult months. The lighter mornings are upon us, soon the sun will be shining more and more and it will become warmer. Time to start thinking about the spring wardrobe...

Come on ladies, lets go for it, Summer will be here before we know it, and we want to enjoy it don't we?

I have copied the stats from the last weigh in, I have put the Jan start weight first, and the last weight that was posted, so update as necessary I have taken off a couple of people I haven't seen in a while, apologies if you are still checking, please say hello and add yourself to the stats again, as well as anyone else who would like to join.

Cheers chipmonkey Are you a DylanThomas fan also? It's better than Pollyfilla anyhow...tho prob less useful. You coming to join us here, or just lurking?

Wintersun, it takes sheer will to do a juicing diet... good on you!

Lisa, you really WILL be in the 10s by April 11. And you'll be there whether you choose to get stressed over it or not. You can trust that the choices you'll make between now and then will be good ones, and if you blip, then you'll instinctively make up for it. You've told your sub-conscious what you want. So let it work for you and enjoy the ride!!! No need to stress, truly.

PollyGarter · 08/03/2009 18:14

I've got blardy PMkenna hardwired in my brain

i weigh more first thing in the morning than i do after a bath and breakfast... wierd - i can vary between 5lbs

you're working so hard Lisa, it will all pay off and if you get your cals consistently just below 2000 you should really see results - tho i'm not a nutritionist by any means... what do others think?

JustKeepSwimming · 08/03/2009 19:30

Well in theory, fewer calories in, more calories out = weight loss. but...
A friend of mine who's doing WW was told off for not eating enough as she was so far below her points every day that her body was going into 'starvation mode' and holds onto every ounce of fat in the food that is available.
(and she felt cr*p too).
So, it's a balancing act, you've got to eat enough to show your body there isn't a famine, but obv eat less than you would otherwise to lose weight.
hmm.

Also, was reading some weekend paper magazine last weekend i think that is following 2 women doing various diets & exercise plans. and in that the medical people clearly said that you lose fat but gain muscle mass when exercising a lot. so the overall weight loss might not feel like much but the tone & inches are improved.
not that i know anything about exercise, lol

LisaLessLumpy · 08/03/2009 19:48

Thanks ladies

Will stop stressing, will carry on eating around the 1500 cal mark and will keep up the exercise. My mum told me I should do it for at least six weeks before I start to see a real improvement, so that is what I'll do. I am just starting week three of the exercise so nearly half way there

OP posts:
Wintersun · 09/03/2009 09:07

Good for you Lisa. I'm sure you'll definitely lose weight if you stick to that.
Have you measured yourself? Keep a record of how many inches you lose as the scales may not always show a loss.

I haven't got the willpower to stick to the proper juicing diet! I need my coffee and to eat too. I am eating some fruit during the day and having a small dinner and keeping up the exercise.

Have a good day everyone!

countesscaloriecounter · 09/03/2009 09:29

Well, I messed up over the weekend again. Ate and drank what I fancied yesterday. How daft is that?

Anyway back on track today. Everyone's doing so well. Lisa you will get there.Keep up the good work.

LisaLessLumpy · 09/03/2009 10:49

I told DH to hide the scales last night. I have become too obsessed by them, jumping on and off morning and night and then getting depressed when they don't show a loss. So I have told him to not let me have them back till the 11th April which is the first goal date. I will carry on doing the right things and see what happens, hopefully not weighing myself will take the stress and disappointment away

I feel better now

I had a blowout yesterday so am back on track today.

bananapaddlepop · 09/03/2009 10:52

hi ladies,

i'm back! feeling okay, energy returned and feel ready to start afresh. Thanks for holding over my spot and for the good wishes. It was all over so quickly I didn't have time to even think about it so much.

I have a new motivation, trip to Australia in May so need to be thin, fit and healthy for my parents annual inspection!

Wow everyone is doing great. Lisa you sound so motivated, well done. Undervalued - incredible, you must feel fantastic. God I've just scanned the losses, everyone doing brilliantly.

So back on WW from today, weighing in on Wednesday so fully expect to have put on, but hopefully it will come off quickly again.

Anyway, good luck today ladies, good to be back. xxx

countesscaloriecounter · 09/03/2009 11:08

Great to see you back banana. What better motivation than a trip to Australia in May.

LisaLessLumpy · 09/03/2009 11:10

Hi Banana, great to see you back

Jack2601 · 09/03/2009 15:59

Thanks for welcoming me!! So many of you seem really motivated on here - may be the kick up my post-pg bum that I need.

First day on Weight Watchers today - oh it brings back memories!!

Hope you're all well - here's to looking gorgeous for the summer!!

JustKeepSwimming · 09/03/2009 17:57

Hey Jack take it easy won't you? what size is your son now? how is he doing?

Hi banana - i'm new on here

wasn't too good over the weekend, what with drinking too much on sat accompanied by nibbles - then hungover on sun which lead to junk food eating!

but been good today, will see what the Wii says later...happy with 9,3 realistic with 9,4....

chipmonkey · 09/03/2009 18:11

Pollygarter I played Myfanwy Price in Under Milkwood at school and fell in love with Dylan Thomas as a result!
Actually I did only pop in to say I loved your name but what the hell, I do have weight to lose so I will just join in, if that's OK
I am now 11st 7lb, down from 11st 9lb last week. What day do we weigh in? I usually step on the scales on Saturday.

MrsMattie · 09/03/2009 18:19

Hello all. Been really crap at following this thread, sorry. Life has been hectic...but good news is, that hectic-ness is keeping the weight off me. I've lost SIX pound in the last 8 days! .Weighed myself on 3 different scales as couldn't quite believe it! Think it's the fact that I have completely cut out snacks this week and stuck to three meals a day only.

Will make more effort to keep up with you all! .

MrsMattie what a great loss. Well done you.

Chipmonkey Hello and welcome. We all have different weigh in days I think. Personally I weigh in on a Friday as I always mess up at the weekends so it gives me time to try and register some sort of loss by the Friday. That's the theory anyway.

countesscaloriecounter · 09/03/2009 18:53

I keep meaning to say 'Hello and welcome to jack as well, but forget. Blame the lack of calories for my memory loss please.

Just take it easy on the weight loss Jack as its so soon after you had your lo.
I envy your determination though. I couldn't even think about dieting for months after my CS.

JustKeepSwimming · 09/03/2009 19:26

The Wii Fit says....9,3

So just need to have some good days and see if i can drop those few more to get under 9stone!
I agree i'm naughtier at the weekend so Friday should be my best day

Justkeepswimming and countesscaloriecounter (love the names by the way, I should have been more adventurous!!) thanks for your concern. Don't worry, I'm not going to go crazy and set unrealistic (and mental) targets, I just know what I'm like, if I make a start on getting back in shape then I'll keep it nice and steady whereas if I put it off then I'll never make the effort. Don't worry, I won't do anything to jeopardise my health. I really like this thread already, people seem genuinely concerned and supportive.

A positive that did come out of DS being in SCBU after my CS was that I had 4 weeks of being able to sit on my bum and heal properly because I was next to his cot for the majority of the time he was in there, I didn't want to be anywhere else. Don't get me wrong, I would much rather have had him home and been running around looking after him, but hey ho, I tried to look on the bright side.

Jack that all sounds sensible (you can call me JKS btw, it's easier!).
i was boring old katyt before. then spent lots of time thinking about a new name. was a stage when ds1 was watching Nemo on repeat!
and it just seemed apt for me with 2 young DCs, a Dh who's away lots, just keep swimming, just keep swimming (in falsely cheerful voice!).....
may shorten to JKS one day and let everyone ponder.....

Glad you healed up nicely (i had a cs with ds2), i did thankfully, but have friends who didn't. i find it amazing now to see how much weight i put on in my pgs. was 11,5 when we got the Wii in July 08 - 6 months after ds2 was born! what was i before then....?!

Love seeing the chart, who will reach a new milestone next???

LisaLessLumpy · 10/03/2009 06:37

Its great to have new blood joining, helps keep the topic going. I will still be around even though I'm not weighing in till April 11th

OP posts:
mixedmamameansbusiness · 10/03/2009 10:29

Have set myself a few little targets:

16 May (Race for Life day) 9.0 which is 1lb per week until then which is official ww goal

23 July (day I go on hols) 8.7 less than 1lb a week

Both of my jeans that I bought in August having lost my first stone are now baggy and falling down without a belt.

I also bought some gym clothes yesterday and they were a size 12.... tried them on at home and they fit so this is my second dress size in a year. So pleased.

Jack - really i have tried a few weight loss threads and this is the only one i have stuck with, I think it helps that we are all doing different things so can share ideas rather than all doing the same thing.

Since joining here I have taken up eating yoghurt and fruit most days for brekkie (a suggestion from Wintersun) and it has made a difference to my hunger levels during the morning and countess and her bike encourage me to ge ton mine.

JustKeepSwimming · 10/03/2009 10:39

They are good target Mixedm

My target is:

17 Jun - 8,7
When i go to Bermuda for my brother's wedding.
I was 8,7 last time i went there, 4 years ago!

JustKeepSwimming · 10/03/2009 19:11

9,3 tonight on the Wii, after dinner (ate with the boys) so that's good. maybe see 9,2 tomorrow if i can be good!
