1st March - Time for a new thread

We can now forget/capitalise on the first two difficult months. The lighter mornings are upon us, soon the sun will be shining more and more and it will become warmer. Time to start thinking about the spring wardrobe...

Come on ladies, lets go for it, Summer will be here before we know it, and we want to enjoy it don't we?

I have copied the stats from the last weigh in, I have put the Jan start weight first, and the last weight that was posted, so update as necessary I have taken off a couple of people I haven't seen in a while, apologies if you are still checking, please say hello and add yourself to the stats again, as well as anyone else who would like to join.

Yeah, I know all about the saggy belly. Horrid isn't it. Mine's never been the same since my CS.

mixedmamameansbusiness · 03/03/2009 16:09

JKS you made it... waving!!

I have tried a few threads and this thread is great for ideas.

Thjis Wii thing seems to be a good investment, might have to think about one if it is something that DH and I might use as well as maybe kids.

Well had a nice long walk with Polly today and feel good, then it began to rain so we had to call it a day, but feel better for it.

Stuck to points yesterday and am on track today. Woo hoo.

I would like to be 9st by August so this last stone needs to go... altho my target is the same as yours JKS as that is my pre-marriage weight.

LisaLessLumpy · 03/03/2009 17:06

Countess - my tummy is horrid since my CS too. After my first DS (natural) my tummy pinged back to flatness with the weightloss, not so this time round

Weather is horrid here too. Also I have eaten crap today, not over calories, just crap food. Will be redeeming myself with cod and ratatouille and spinach for tea

I have done 40 mins on the XT and will be attempting 40 mins of Davina once DH gets home and before dinner.

I WILL BE SLIM

OP posts:
JustKeepSwimming · 03/03/2009 18:14

Lisa - i don't know so much about 'pinging' back but after ds1 (normal birth) i don't remember this sagginess.
then had a c-s with ds2 and it's noticeably different.

but then you see people like victoria beckham with 3 c-s with a flat stomach

JustKeepSwimming · 03/03/2009 19:11

Woohoo 9,4 tonight

have been stuck on 9,5 for what feels like ages.

Amazing what a couple of sensible days & no alcohol can do....

mixedmamameansbusiness · 03/03/2009 20:13

well done JKS.

I have had two normal births and have an amazing overhang this time.. The only thing that will work me thinks is sit ups.

LisaLessLumpy · 03/03/2009 20:23

VB - has no overhang because there is nothing to her, she must weigh all of 6 and a half stone

But great news on shifting a pound, well done

Well I didn't manage 40 mins of Davina, only 20 mins, but by god that is the hardest 20 mins of leg exercises I have done in a long time. I fully expect not to be able to walk tomorrow, they are already hurting
But I have racked up an hour of exercise today

Hello everyone on this nice, shiny new thread

I've not had a chance to post as have been really busy with various bits and bobs.

Good news is that I have been v.good and sticking to a good diet and exercise regime.

I went to a birthday party on Sat and everyone was saying how slim I look. I did say that I'd been dieting and only had another stone to lose 'a stone??!, don't be ridiculous. Maybe 1/2 a stone but you don't need to lose a stone!' was the genuine replies I got from honest friends [chuffed]

It was a bit of a surprise actually as I've only lost 4lbs this year. Maybe I've put muscle on or something

Well done to everyone exercising. You all seem to be getting really into it.

I have an overhang too after a vb 1st time and a cs second. Its very soft and flabby and yuk. I've (re)started doing 50 crunches every eve whilst watching tv.

I've heard that the reason slebs look so great after cs, with instant flat tummies is that they have a 'mummy' tuck ie a tummy tuck at the same time.

mixedmamameansbusiness · 04/03/2009 11:46

Thought I would add this here... a lady has posted allt he WW eatign out points for lots of popular places.

I know not many are doing WW but still a good guide, the lower the points the less cals and sat fat.

www.freewebs.com/noreenblackett/

countesscaloriecounter · 04/03/2009 15:10

Thanks for that Mixedmama. I dieted and lost a lot of weight following the points system before I became pregnant so that's very helpful.

JustKeepSwimming · 04/03/2009 19:42

Wintersun - heard that too about 'mummytucks'. wouldn't mind one myself if i ever have to go through another c-s (fingers crossed i don't though).

A few days of being good and..... 9,3

so near to 8-something

Wintersun · 04/03/2009 20:19

Well done JKS! Thats brilliant! I'm looking forward to getting down to that size myself!

Has anyone checked out Sparkpeople ?
Its an amazing diet website. Its quite American but there is tonnes of info, diet plans, charts, forums (with about a million groups) and even exercise videos! Its quite amazing and its free.

I've just been to an aerobiking class and feel great for having gone. I so didn't want to go as it was wet, cold and I was feeling tired but am now glad I did it.

I haven't been that great with food today, but not really bad either. I had some dinner at 5.30 and am really, really trying hard not to eat anything else tonight. Its tough!

tessieb · 04/03/2009 21:34

Wow, JKS, nearly at the 8 stone something milestone. Not been there since I was in my early twenties!

Wintersun, well done for motivating yourself to go to aerobiking class. I bet it's a good work-out!

I'm loving the Wii fitness coach. I've just done a 30 minute cardio session. (Must admit, I felt quite excited about going back on it. As soon as I got DS into bed, I was changed and ready to go!!!! This is very unlike me.)

Yesterday I was chatting with a few of the mums at my son's school and telling them about the fitness coach. One of them said a colleague at work had it, loved using it, and it has helped her lose quite a bit of weight. Just what I wanted to hear!

PollyGarter · 04/03/2009 22:21

Howdy all! Just quickly checking in...
And whoa JKS that's some pretty inspiring stuff!
The Wii sounds great! Would love one of those.
CS Overhang here too. I don't mind it too much yet tho. I'm sure i will later.
Not much new... keeping keeping on...

countesscaloriecounter · 05/03/2009 14:49

Things seem to be going quiet on the thread a bit.

I hope everyone's just as motivated as ever and being good.

Weigh in for me tomorrow, and I'm just praying I've not put any on after a naughty calorific weekend.

In my defence I have been virtually killing myself on exercise bike every day since then. Visualise a huge sweaty red face and you get the picture.

Wintersun · 05/03/2009 15:53

I need to do some more exercise. I have been doing a bit of comfor eating today. I don't know why. I started off well then had a bit of a binge after lunch. I wasn't even hungry in the slightest.
I'll go to the gym and have an extra low cal dinner. Maybe a quorn burger and veg or tomato salad.

Today I have had (writing it all down so I have to admit it to myself and not eat anymore!)

fruit, yoghurt
2 wholegrain crackers, small bit of cheese
apple
Innocent thai veg pot (was lovely and filling at 288cal)
Then;
fun size twix, milky way, toast [kicking myself, hard!]

Good luck for tomorrow, countess!

LisaLessLumpy · 05/03/2009 16:23

I'm still motivated, just having a day off today as it is my birthday. I have exercised every day for the past 10 days, I was going to have a rest day today too, but feel like I can't miss a day now, so may sneak a crafty half an hour in later when DH gets home as I am planning on pizza and fizz for tea and my MiL took me out for lunch. Will prob leave weigh in till saturday to give me a day to recover from today

Today
2 toast and flora light
pkt funsize choc buttons, club biscuit, hot choc options, some low fat yoghurt.
Salmon and rocket sarnie and shared some chips with MiL, small glass of white wine, and rice pudding but it was far too creamy so didn't eat much of it.
1/4 pizza and 2 glasses fizz.

I don't think I am going to show a loss this week but it will have to show up at some point as I am burning off more than I am eating, so I WILL NOT be depressed if I stay the same

OP posts:
lexcat · 05/03/2009 17:43

countesscaloriecounter I'm still with you watching this thread as a newbie I've got Saturday as my weigh in day.
Wintersun I really can recommened the couch to 5km as a great exercise. There are lots of us here following the plan. I myself ran for 20min the other day having struggled to manage 1min at the start.

JustKeepSwimming · 05/03/2009 19:18

Had a look on the Wii chart, i was 9,13 on 4th Jan (nearest to 1st Jan that i did it), so have lost 10lbs since then

Adding myself to the list if that's ok?

PollyGarter · 05/03/2009 19:46

Happy Birthday Lisa! Hope you have a great one!!!!

Went to physio today for my back, and was told i'm hyper-flexible and that i should NEVER do yoga... (also no step aerobics/jogging but no worries about that as i don't enjoy them) i'd been doing yoga on and off since 17 years old, and stopped only since ds born. Bit down as it's the only form of exercise i actually enjoy. i'm going to have to check out pilates now. Anyone know of any good dvds?

JustKeepSwimming · 05/03/2009 21:07

oh yes sorry Lisa, happy birthday

still 9,3 on Wii Fit tonight

undervalued · 05/03/2009 21:36

Happy birthday Lisa!!
Hyper-flexible Polly? Quite a blow I suspect

whyme2 · 05/03/2009 21:48

Hi, I've caught up with you all from the last thread. However I am still 13st 12. But it has been a stressful few weeks as Dh was made redundant. He starts new job on Monday which is a relief.
Has anyone got any good tummy toning exercises? My belly always seems to look saggier by evening.
I've started logging my food on foodfocus again so i feel like I'm getting back on track again. It does help seeing it all listed inblack and white.
Here's to a good weekend.

tessieb · 05/03/2009 21:54

Happy birthday Lisa! Enjoy your pizza....mmm!

Aw, Polly, such a shame about the yoga. Such a lovely form of exercise too. Sure pilates will be great, though. My friend's DH goes to a class every week and really enjoys it.

I've had a hungry day today after all the exercise of the last few days. Just filled in my food diary on WLR and am well over target. In fact, have eaten EXACTLY my maintenance calories for today, down to the last calorie! Think I need to plan my food for the day a bit better, and avoid nibbles at work!!!

Wintersun · 06/03/2009 08:12

Hope you had a good birthday Lisa!

Polly, sorry to hear about your back. Its a shame you can't do yoda but pilates is really good. I'm sure you'll definitely enjoy that.

Whyme, sorry to hear you had a rough time but great news about your dh getting a job! Well done him
Do stomach crunches to tone up your tummy. I'm trying to do 50 every night and do some push ups for my bingo wings!
here's how to do crunches
Also, try that sparkpeople link. It has some exercise videos on it (some are 10mins) and shows you how to do various toning exercises.
Its really motivating too.

I weighed myself today and am still the bloody same!
I need to join you Tessieb and start planning and being more stricter.
Its quite a worry as I think I'm eating fairly healthy most of the time (ie 80%) plus I'm exercising at least 3x a week. I do an hrs belly dancing, 45mins aerobiking, 30mins gym and increased walking and all this is just maintaining my weight!

I need to get back to 1200cals a day.

I might try that juicing diet for a few days next week as I have the wedding next weekend and would love to shift a few more lbs. I don't want to do the strict version as I'll be having a big meal etc at the wedding so don't want to shock my body!
