1st March - Time for a new thread

We can now forget/capitalise on the first two difficult months. The lighter mornings are upon us, soon the sun will be shining more and more and it will become warmer. Time to start thinking about the spring wardrobe...

Come on ladies, lets go for it, Summer will be here before we know it, and we want to enjoy it don't we?

I have copied the stats from the last weigh in, I have put the Jan start weight first, and the last weight that was posted, so update as necessary I have taken off a couple of people I haven't seen in a while, apologies if you are still checking, please say hello and add yourself to the stats again, as well as anyone else who would like to join.

I have been shit all week, got totally off the bandwagon since last weeks weigh-in, all the Easter chocolate hasn't helped either or the fact that I haven't managed to do any cross trainer either I will probably be showing 2-3lb up this week so am not weighing in. Will be starting fresh tomorrow.

I have an appt with the doctor on tuesday morning, so will see what she says. I am also having a consultation with the dentist on tues evening about getting my teeth whitened, its something I have been wanting to do for a couple of years and I thought blow it, it may make me feel better and I have saved up the money so I'm going for it

Well done LuckyMoray you have done really well

Hello All, and welcome katiestar.

What a rubbish week!

I haven't been on... I know. I've been feeling unmotivated for the last months. For me, my big project in January was to lose weight. Then fixing my back became the project. Then studying became more demanding, and my focus completely went. When i would normally listen to PMK thang, i would be revising instead... (and maybe snacking at the same time).

So, in honour of women's well documented ability to multitask, i do declare i will focus on all things at once. I won't blame other demands for lack of time/inclination to be respectful to my body.

I needed to write this down, have otherwise it wouldn't have been a real commitment.

Our household's had to pull in it's belt, financially, and there's a part of my brain that thinks that all i can afford to eat is whole bread and marg when times are lean, because that will fill me up and be cheap. So i've been eating it as a part of every meal and snack recently. I know it's completely crazy. But i can't let £ dictate my health. It's funny what triggers weight gain.

Also, I think hitting the 10 somethings mark made me think 'well that's good enough, you've earned a break from having this weight thing in the back of your mind... enjoy your old things, you've earned it.' And i really did think that was what i deserved. I think being in this territory is dangerous for me, because i could live with my image right now. I could settle for it. But it isn't FABULOUS. And i did say in my very first post i wanted to be fabulous again! I want to walk down the street knowing i look the best i can, no excuses.

countesscaloriecounter · 18/04/2009 10:05

MaryAnnSailors you are so right about getting into the 10 stone something mark and then going off track because you deserve it. I've done exactly the same thing. I got to under 11 and was so pleased that I rewarded myself with food. How ridiculous is that? Well, I've wobbled for a few weeks and faffed about but I'm now back on track. I stuck to the diet ridgidly yesterday, which is the first Friday in ages that I've done that. It's my weigh in on Fridays so I usually let things slide a bit after that and I slide all through the weekend. But I want to be slim so much and I am determined to get there!

tessieb · 19/04/2009 10:47

I've done exactly the same, MaryAnn and Countess. Got to 10 stone something, relaxed and have put weight back on!!! I've had 2 weeks off work, eaten out loads and had a great time. However, I've put on 1.5 lbs and now weigh 11 stone exactly!

I've got 5 weeks till my holiday and really want to look much slimmer by then. I've got some summer clothes I bought 2 years ago that I still can't wear as they look too tight. I don't want to buy new things in a bigger size, so the pounds need to go!

MaryAnnSailors · 19/04/2009 14:37

Yes... these pounds are going again... i can feel the tide turning...

So strange how our brains give us these extra little challenges!

JustKeepSwimming · 19/04/2009 20:50

I know i did the same when i got to 9-something and again when i got to 8-something!

Anyone getting back on the wagon tomorrow?
finishing some easter egg chocolate & drinking wine tonight

MaryAnnSailors · 20/04/2009 09:55

Glad to hear the stone crossover relapse is a pretty common situ! I was in denial for quite some time, but now that i've come to terms with it, it's full steam ahead.

Looking forward to a good day of healthy eating. Come on summer...!

tessieb · 20/04/2009 10:34

Yes, I like that term 'stone crossover relapse' - feel better when there's a name for this problem!

I really really must get back on track. I go on holiday in 4 and a half weeks and there are so many summer clothes that still look too tight. I could also do with getting a few more summer things but really want to lose more weight first!

And the thought of being seen in public in my swimming cossie! What would you all recommend that will hold everything in place and make me look super slim? Think I could do with one of those old-fashioned type bathing suits, you know the sort that goes below the knee and covers everything up!!!!!

countesscaloriecounter · 20/04/2009 10:40

so funny tessieb. Venturing out in a t-shirt and jeans is scary enough for me at the moment. The cozzie doesn't even bear thinking about.

Countingthegreyhairs · 20/04/2009 10:43

Same here everyone. Really, really need to get a grip post-Easter. I am still on holiday today (everyone back to school/work on Wed) so I must start reducing my food intake and stocking up the fridge with healthy things NOW.

Hope everyone else has a very good week!

MaryAnnSailors · 20/04/2009 12:05

Hehehe Tessieb. I bet you'd look great, tho, in one of those retro 50's two piece swimsuits. With big hornrimmed sunglasses ala cheesecake shots with polka dot umbrellas! That's what i plan on doing this summer anyway! Something like this... wish it were in stock!

Countingthegreyhairs · 20/04/2009 13:56

ooh that's lovely Mary Ann

... I shall be wearing.... this ...

JustKeepSwimming · 20/04/2009 18:13

Very fetching Counting

I'm still looking for nice bikinis, assuming i'm brave enough to wear one in public. Want ones with a high-waisted brief if that's possible, so keep an eye out for me please?
(any i've looked at so far sit right below my saggy belly and i won't go out in public like that )

JustKeepSwimming · 20/04/2009 19:22

Well done KatieStar

Well Wii put me at 8,12 tonight which is OK given my Easter gluttony

Back to normal routine now so hope to get to my goal of 8,7 in time for brother's wedding in June....

LisaLessLumpy · 20/04/2009 20:32

Well done katiestar

Very fetching swimsuits ladies, I was thinking more along these sort of lines

Well I am struggling to get my eating in check and have only been on the XT twice in 10 days I have totally gone to pot since I weighed myself even the glorious weather today hasn't given me any inspiration!

Going to see the doc tomorrow to ask for a thyroid test, at least I will then know either way and try and sort myself out. I might see if I can get referred to a dietician, although I know what I need to eat God knows what else I can do if the thyroid test comes back negative, 6 weeks of eating and exercising well didn't do much, I can't imagine I have made that much muscle to counteract the weight loss as I didn't do any weights, only cardio.

Anyhow I won't moan to you anymore

Well Done on the 2lb loss Katie.

Lisa, I hope you get the problem sorted out soon. You've worked so hard and it must be so frustrating for you.

I am sick of being stuck at 10st 13 now. I really hope this Friday shows a lower figure than that.

Wintersun · 22/04/2009 08:22

Hello everyone. I've not been around for a while.
I've really slacked off and have decided to get back into healthy weight loss mode. The sunshine has given me a kick up my ample bum as I've no summery clothes that lok nice
everything is either too tight or saggy baggy pre 2 stone weight loss.

I might join a weight loss group to get me going. The only one nearest me is a Rosemary Conley one which they do on a Wed and Sat am. Has anyone tried RC?

I haven't read the whole thread back so sorry if I've missed anything major.

MaryAnnSailors · 23/04/2009 09:38

MMama, prob won't be online for a bit as staying at MILs this weekend - but let me know how the stoke newington walk goes! Had a great time Tues.

JKS, hope all is feeling a bit more normal for you now. That Wii sounds brilliant.

How'd the drs go Lisa? You won't get results from tests for a while yet, but hopefully your dr gave you some good advice.

Countess, i'm sure Friday will be very nice for you!

Hello Wintersun, i don't know about RC, anyone else?

I will NOT eat any biscuits/cakes/naughty things whilst visiting my MIL. There. Done.

MaryAnnSailors · 23/04/2009 09:40

And good going Katiestar

@ Counting's Victoriana cossie...

JustKeepSwimming · 23/04/2009 09:58

MAS - good luck with that

still 8,12 here...

being good though so hoping to drop down again soon.

No idea about RC sorry.

PMSL at some of the cossies

countesscaloriecounter · 24/04/2009 14:19

Lost inches but no pounds this week

JustKeepSwimming · 24/04/2009 19:51

Countess - inch loss is still good

back to 8,11 here, yey.
now onwards and downwards....

tessieb · 25/04/2009 19:38

Just love all the swimming costume ideas, though think the victorian one could be the one!

Not been a good week for eating healthily and exercising. I've been for a few meals out, and last night went out with a group of friends for food and quite a lot of wine. Strange, my glass just kept being topped up! Had a great time though!

Tomorrow I'm getting weighed so I'll post my result. (Don't think it will be a very good one though!!!)

countesscaloriecounter · 26/04/2009 22:47

Well, I have felt so un motivated since my last weigh in. I have eaten what I like and drank a fair bit. It's very depressing to try very hard to lose the weight and still lose nothing, so I've had a rubbish weekend but plan to be on track again tomorrow. Been desperate enoug to consider atkins but trying to hold out on that one as though I know it provides good results I just can't face the thought of it.
