I’m going on a silly crash diet

For two weeks. I’m only going to eat soup, yoghurt, vegetables and fruit. I normally eat a good diet but too much wine and relaxing has meant I need to seriously shed a stone at least before I go on holiday in November. I did this diet about 16 years ago with excellent results, but I remember it being extremely challenging.

So I’m going to post here every day for a bit of accountability. Just two weeks - hope it flies by!

Ha - it’s my prawns, hard boiled eggs, Greek yoghurt , bananas, salad and soup diet - worked for me - and I didnt feel deprived ! A bit boring, but doable for a few weeks

Thank you! It’s inspired me to keep going till Thursday.

Pah! That's only 6 days (5 if you're not counting Thursday).

You can do it!

It’s definitely doable although I suffer from restless leg syndrome and it has gone absolutely wild these past couple of days. I’m going to swap prawns for mussels to see if that helps.

Day Six of 10

I’ve had a packet of mussels, Greek yoghurt with cherries, an M&S king prawn snack pot and will have more veggie chilli tonight without rice.

I suspect it may go tits up from tomorrow. I’m going for drinks with my partner tomorrow and friend on Monday. I can see my willpower collapsing like a house of cards.

@Directly171717171717 stay strong - you've done amazingly well so far.

Stick to maybe 2 small glasses of wine and then onto soda water? Or is that just ridiculous 😅

It’s ridiculous 😂. I know there’s no chance. I’m going to have to make adjustments.

Today I’m going to have a coffee, mussels and yoghurt for lunch, and I’m going to have a steak with vegetables before I have a drink tonight.

I’m going to cook skinless, boneless chicken with carrots, peas, sweetcorn, broccoli, and cabbage with gravy ready to have for lunch tomorrow and Tuesday after I’ve had a drink, or I’ll end up buckling and have a loaf of blue Warburtons white bread and a full packet of Haribo.

I seem to have caught up on sleep though. I am very much a night owl and even on work nights am rarely in bed before 1am. Was in bed at 11:30 last night and only woke up half an hour ago!

So yesterday was Day Seven of 10 and I had:

A packet of mussels
A steak
Mediterranean vegetables
And two bottles of wine 😳

But I knew I was drinking tonight and yesterday so have made my peace. Thought I’d be very hungover today given how little I’d been eating but I’m okay. Sticking with it as it was whilst drinking is not realistic though. I’m having a dinner today with carrots, broccoli, cabbage, sweetcorn, mashed potato, chicken and gravy. Not to the strict diet at all with the chicken but I do think it could be worse

😂😂you're hardcore!

I couldn't drink one bottle of wine without dire consequences.

Too much practice! Hence the need for a diet 😂.

How did you go in the end, OP?

LipglossAndLies · 10/09/2026 11:55

Maybe not as well as the ambition was but that's why it was called a silly crash diet. Most of what would of been lost is water retention and inflammation which easily goes back on the moment you have a break and eat other foods. 💁

How did you go in the end, OP?

Very well! Could actually see with my eyes how much my waist had shrank. I stopped after a week because I had too much wine 😂. I am now calorie counting.
