⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! January Jumpstart 2026 ⭐️

January has absolutely flown by!

To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself. One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on.

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone.

After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 4lbs.
Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

Thanks for the support everyone. I did weigh this morning and although lighter than yesterday I am heavier than last Wednesday. Moving average has also gone up after flattening off.
GP took me off my bp meds and some of my symptoms are already easing, he agreed that it was affecting my weight with fluid retention so I’m am staying on my calories and hoping to see that go as the medication leaves my system.

AI is convinced I’ll see a whoosh within 5 days - I however after all these months, know my body will not do that so I’ll just be thankful for half a pound a week. Won’t make goal but stand a chance of loosing the last eight pounds before my September holiday. That just puts me in a healthy bmi and I really think mentally then I’ll be done.

I’ve set a new goal for my March holiday - reluctantly

well done all the losses and sts and if no loss I’m here in solidarity with you 😊

Glad you’ve been taken off the meds. Did you get something else instead for the bp?

I am sure you will do well with your new goal.

socks1107 · 18/02/2026 19:37

@Determinedloser yes I did get another medication. Will go and collect it tomorrow when I’m at home. Bp isn’t horribly high just not normal.

bit of a set back but that’s life!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 18/02/2026 21:14

Hi everyone. I am still hovering around the 11 stone mark - I have been eating well during the week, but exercise has been lacking and lots of work trips and weekend social activities have played havoc with my efforts. I have a few quieter weekends coming up, and I’m determined to comfortably fit into my spring wardrobe so ploughing on and hoping March will be much better!

off to catch up on the thread.

Alwaysploddingon · 19/02/2026 07:11

I haven't weighed in. I did the low carb bootcamp style yesterday day 1, but didn't sleep well last night. I had tuna mayonnaise mixed with yogurt for breakfast....

Not weighed yet.

... I'm not sure how well it will for me....I had a migraine a couple of weeks ago and I'm scared to have another one. It may have been related to dieting and when I didn't feel hungry I skipped a meal, then I just didn't feel hungry for a few days. So ate tiny amounts....

After starting I got a stiff neck yesterday, which my migraine started. Maybe it's dehydration so in drinking more... maybe I need to try something different. I did lose

TheRealHousewife · 19/02/2026 09:59

Good Morning Peeps

@Alwaysploddingon If my calories & carbs are on the low side I don’t sleep well. It’s a right balancing act. Too many - weigh gain; too little - poor sleep & hair loss. Also coming down from sugary foods can cause headaches and those will cease in a couple of days. Plenty of fluids and perhaps some electrolytes if you have any. Hope you get your 💤 tonight 👍

@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo Im loving your positive attitude, great stuff! 👏

Menu
Meal 1 - Avocado on gf seeded toast. Side salad.
Meal 2 - Spicy chicken balls & vegetable medley. Greek yoghurt.
Drinks - Tea, black coffee, hibiscus tea & water.

Sharing a photo I took on a previous holiday of the lovely blue sky (just in case you’ve forgotten what blue sky looks like 😬)

I lost 1.6lbs overnight. Clearly medication fluid retention. Going to keep the water intake up today have a rest from weight lifting and let it settle.
new prescription ready to collect but I’m a bit nervous about it! Although I appreciate my bp is more important. 2lbs to lose now in for weeks! I am praying as I know this could go either way 😂.

Just a question do people weigh every day? I do, if I didn’t I’d have seen gains the last two weeks but then I’ve seen gains anyway so maybe better to reduce to three times a week? Not sure what do you all do?

Coffeetimes3 · 19/02/2026 10:19

Wow, that's a stunning photo @TheRealHousewife praying for some blue skies like that soon.

@socks1107 I'm doing twice a week at the moment. I think there are advantages and disadvantages to both. I have done every day previously and it is good to really see how much it can vary but it also made me too obsessed with it.

Determinedloser · 19/02/2026 10:26

I’m a daily weigher! Really hate not weighing every day.

0.6lbs off this morning. Just over 1lb to go until I’m at my lowest weight on record on my apps!

TheRealHousewife · 18/02/2026 14:14

We could go as a group (if anyone is interested that is) … somewhere central for everyone 🙂. Arrangements would have to be via PM 👍

I’d love to meet up. It’s difficult as exh is abroad a lot so I have no ‘babysitter’ but I would love a break.

i just weighed myself 182.1 lbs - that’s just a small amount over 13. I’m so close to being in the 12s. <wonders if a haircut would push me under> <stares at overlong toenails while holding clippers>

Determinedloser · 19/02/2026 15:44

Gosh it’s true what they say about protein filling you up. It’s so strange. I can’t believe I still need to eat my evening meal and two protein snacks to hit my calorie/protein target for the day today. I could quite easily not eat another thing.

Anyone struggling with hunger I would honestly say up the protein.

FridayNighFeeling · 19/02/2026 16:00

Hi all

Glad you've seen improvement @socks1107 and hope the new meds don't do the same for you.

I weigh M-F really as I don't want to be on the scales in front of my teen. This week I've managed 2 WIs (Monday and today) and will get back on it on Monday.

Protein is definitely the way forwards, but I have days where I eat despite not being hungry - it's definitely hormone or emotion driven

TheRealHousewife · 20/02/2026 11:31

Good Morning All

Menu
Meal 1 - Mediterranean Omelette with rocket & Spinach.
Meal 2 - Cod, Butterbeans, leeks & peas. Strawberry yoghurt ‘mouse’.
Drinks - Tea, black coffee, hibiscus tea & water.

Your omelette looks delicious OP!! Wish the egg ick wasn’t a thing because I’d love to eat more of them. Managed a fried one this morning though.

Thank you @Determinedloser . I totally get the egg ick thing. I got it a bit today as there was some underdone egg inside which I can’t stomach 🤢 I ended up eating only half of it.

Im really funny with eggs. They have to be fully cooked through, no runny white or yolk.

Morning all! I hope everyone’s having a good weekend. I’m away for at least a week abroad, so NutraCheck isn’t on the cards since I can’t be too precise with what I’m having when there’ll be some eating out/dishes that are difficult to add into NutraCheck/etc. So, I’m gonna trial going with my gut and hoping what I’ve learnt so far carries me through. I’d be happy with STS by time I get back but really hope I don’t gain as even eating more calories than NutraCheck suggests I need to lose weight should keep me at STS. I mean, I dread to think how many calories I was having some days before I started this all at the start of the year, honestly… 😬

ImALittlePea · 21/02/2026 09:18

Morning all. I've not tracked or weighed this week. Life seems to be throwing everything it can our way at the moment and I'm struggling so much 😞 every time something eases, two more things go wrong. It's also been half term here and I've had the week off work, and while we've had some nice days, my eldest is really struggling with regulation and it's causing such an emotional drain. That on top of so much unplanned spending on things breaking down, just as we were hoping to book a much-needed family holiday.

I don't think our meals and eating has been awful, tbh. But I can't even remember what we've been having. It's all just very foggy.

The one positive I guess is that a few months ago, if I felt like this over half term I'd have 100% drunk wine most or even every day. As it happens, I had some on Thursday but that was at a social thing and not at home feeling done in. And that's been it... Which is something, I guess?

Trying to muster some positive energy but I'm just so depleted. Going to have a quick, early lunch today as meeting some friends at soft play hell at midday and don't want to eat there. Dinner tonight is risotto with veg. I'm then due to go to a 40th party tonight, on my own. It may be just what I need, as I don't want to go and be a misery.

Sorry for the pity party amongst so much positivity on here. Well done everyone for your ongoing efforts and the losses and whooshes I've seen.

WearyAuldWumman · 21/02/2026 13:13

Not been a great start to the year - have had to keep missing gym sessions and at one point was ordering out because I felt too unwell to get out and about. Nothing serious - at one point, I was hit by shingle vaccination side effects - and it turns out that some of my malaise is down to problems from an impacted wisdom tooth.

Fortunately, I got a cancellation at the hospital and now that they've done their own examination, they agree it has to come out.

Bizarrely, the x-ray taken at the hospital was unclear so the charming young doctor who saw me brought up one "from about 10 yrs ago".

Eh...No dear. The last time I had an x-ray at the hospital was more than 40 yrs ago and I'm astonished that it was transferred to the electronic database, to be honest. No, I didn't tell him that.

Anyway, I'm on The List.

Apparently, the position of the tooth explains why some food tastes a bit weird - summat to do with a nerve that affects the tongue?

It certainly explains the ear trouble that I sometimes get and - bizarrely - might explain the sinus problems I've had over the past 5 yrs.

Current weight: 14 stone 7.5

As an aside, the surgeon listed the many possible side-effects from the op and then asked "What's your home situation?"

"I'm a widow."

"Any kids?"

"No."

I was then told that I'll be getting a local - possibly because they'd otherwise have to organise an overnight stay for a GA.

"You won't feel anything." pause. "While we're pulling it out."

Emmadaily · 21/02/2026 13:49

Good afternoon everyone 😊
Reading and catching up again on this lovely thread.
Well done to everyone who are here and supporting each other and those still posting despite things going on in their lives . Hope all is well very soon ♥
I went to my regular slimming world meeting earlier today
Was a good meeting good discussion and sharing tips etc.
I weighed in 8 stone 6 pounds so lost 1 pound so now at bottom end of my target again so I'm pleased about that after 2 small recent gains.
I have a celebration meal out with family on Friday my grandson will be 15.
We are going to a local steak house so will try to choose wisely though there is definitely birthday cake to be had and I will enjoy it all.
When I say wisely what I really mean is won't have chips with my meal 😛
Other than that I will enjoy eating out celebrating with my family and just having a lovely time.
Have a lovely weekend everyone and a great week
Xx

Happy Monday and back to routine. I'm -25lbs so bipping up and down still, but my period is MIA and we were out for pizza yesterday (and a donut) so it will hopefully come back down.

Lovely picture @TheRealHousewife and hope you enjoyed the cake @Emmadaily

Fellsbells · 23/02/2026 09:27

Back on it this week after a relaxed half term. Hope everyone has a sunny monday.

Determinedloser · 23/02/2026 11:57

Happy Monday gang.

Usual Monday gain for me. Think I just need to accept now I’m always going to gain on a Monday, lose the rest of the week and back up again the next Monday. But hopefully two steps forward only one step back each week.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Nearly March!! Hard to believe really. Already it’s making a difference it staying lighter a little later at night.

ImALittlePea · 23/02/2026 12:23

Afternoon! Trying to get back to it this week with some more positive energy.

Started with a fitness class, didn't give me the usual boost (not altogether surprising!) BUT I did it anyway.

L - wrap with leftover roast chicken, salad, BBQ sauce and cheese. And a handful of crisps.
D - spag bol, I think
S - hopefully just fruit, and tea 🤞

FridayNighFeeling · 23/02/2026 13:09

I've taken the step to join a class based gym too - think yoga, pilates, weights gulp it's tiny, so my first session will be in 2 week's time as they book up so quickly but it's a step forwards.

Well done for going anyway @ImALittlePea
