⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! January Jumpstart 2026 ⭐️

January has absolutely flown by!

To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself. One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on.

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone.

After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 4lbs.
Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

Morning all! I’m 1lb down this week, which is OK but actually I was hoping for a little more, given how I’ve been eating - but better than 1lb on so I will take it and move forward!

SW - 15st10.5
CW - 12st7

My next mini goal on Nutracheck is 12st4, and I’d like to see that before the end of the month if possible.

Determinedloser · 11/02/2026 09:03

Well done everyone who had wowed so far! Any loss is a loss and even just being here and weighing is progress.

0.6lb gain for me today which is disappointing but period arrived today so at least I can chalk it up to that because I know for a fact I’ve not eaten enough to gain any weight. Means I can hopefully look forward to a bit of a whoosh next week.

Lets keep going Grin

stealthninjamum · 11/02/2026 09:09

Morning all!

SW: 197lbs
LW: 183.6
Today: 182.3

Ive had a great result. Over a lb gone. I had set myself a target to be in the 12s by Valentine’s Day (no reason, it was a random day) and I’m now 13 st 0..3 so really close with three days to go.

I’m wondering if I can be in the 11s by 1st July. So I’m setting myself a goal of 167 lbs and a reward of a small number of cheap summer outfits as I’ll be in my midway stage. I’d love a summer where my legs don’t rub together in the hot weather so hopefully no shorts under my dresses this year.

socks1107 · 11/02/2026 09:26

Morning everyone, nice surprise for me today after a week of the scale being difficult I showed a good loss this morning and my moving average is keeping up so it’s 1.5lbs for me today!

SW 13.13
CW 10.12.8
GW 10.5

ImALittlePea · 11/02/2026 10:08

Morning everyone. Cheering all of you lovely WoWers on! I'm going to weigh on Friday.

Can't remember when I last posted, possibly last Friday? Anyway, weekend was so-so, but week has been ok so far. Mostly everything logged on Nutracheck, I haven't stayed strictly within calories but my target is only 1350.

I'm really missing exercise though. I don't think I can cut my calories more, sensibly, to lose the weight I want, but my body is still recovering from various ailments and injuries. Feel like it's affecting my motivation.

Anyway. Today's plan is still a WIP...
L - minestrone soup, apple
S - greek yog and fruit
D - either loaded baked potatoes and salad, or chicken casserole with either baked pots or homemade chips.

7 weeks until my birthday. With a half term in between. But I'd looooove to lose 7lb in that time and be in the 10s... Need to find that mojo!?

FridayNighFeeling · 11/02/2026 16:06

Great stuff all, glad to hear you did have a loss @socks1107

Same-ish sort of weight here, will keep an eye on it as the week goes along. Sticking to IF, but hunger till I get back used to it is definitely an issue ATM!

Fellsbells · 11/02/2026 18:17

@TheWayTheLightFalls hope you had a lovely time and got lots of clothes you feel great in.

A massive well done to wowers. Just checking in at this point in the winter is admirable.

I was happy to have maintained this week. Just going with the flow at the moment, but I think my body wants to sit around where it is which is helping with maintenance. I do want another 2-5lbs off before the summer, but for now that isn’t a priority.

JumpLeadsForTwo · 11/02/2026 18:37

Well done to all, especially those who have been doing this for some time! 87.3kg today, so .4kg loss this week

WhitegreeNcandle · 12/02/2026 06:58

Wow, some impressive losses for some people - well done!

my first wow was 1.5lb down

SW 11.1
CW 10.12
GW 10.4

pretty pleased and finding it so illuminating calorie counting again

Determinedloser · 12/02/2026 12:18

Another gain this morning! Curse this period. Really hoping for a loss in the next couple of days as I absolutely have not eaten enough to be gaining anything.

ImALittlePea · 13/02/2026 07:13

WoF -0.5lb

A small one, but a loss is a loss.

I really hope a whoosh is in my near future!

Happy Friday all ❤️

TealSloth · 13/02/2026 07:20

Morning ladies hope you all are well.
February month has been a rocky start for me. For some reason I am not able to drop any pounds because of what am eating and not being able to track what ive eaten I really need to pull myself together. Every day for me is a restart day. Today start fresh again.

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 14/02/2026 06:59

Morning all! I’m having such a February struggle too @TealSloth- I’ve not gone totally crazy with eating but I’ve been finding it difficult to stay under my calories and make good choices just because I’ve felt really hungry and also I’ve just felt like I want more treats! Though I managed to do January very low on calories and not feeling over hungry or like I was missing out on treats it’s very frustrating, I guess things do just ebb and flow. Anyway I’m keeping on track this week just about though I have grandparents visiting today and we’ll be going out for food and drinks. So I need to make sure that Sunday is a very low calorie affair basically and I won’t get dessert when we go out for dinner. I’ve been doing well with my yoga practice but I really want to start getting some kettlebell workouts in somewhere - need to motivate myself again! Very sick of hovering around 9st 5lbs then scales were showing 9st 7 the other day but my period was happening then too.

FridayNighFeeling · 14/02/2026 12:41

Well I'm right there with you too @TealSloth Today is the first time my weight has dipped down below where I was mid December! 25 1/5lbs down. Hoping to hang on to that despite a calorie laden meal tonight and trip to the cinema tomorrow.

Done my 5 miler this morning so hopefully that's offset some of the eating.

Check in on Monday

Emmadaily · 14/02/2026 14:41

Afternoon everyone and a Happy Valentines day to you all ♥
Just reading through again and a little bit of a mixed bag of updates but I am so impressed with the positive thoughts of those who are not too happy and I'm sure your determination will see you right. So good luck everyone .
Well I went my Saturday weigh in at Slimming World this morning
I have put a pound on tho admittingly I did feel initially a bit of disappointed but like I have said before I have to remind myself how well I have done this last few months. At least I am protecting my weight loss but having said that I don't want to be on some slippery slope of gaining weight again .
So hopefully this time next week my update will be either maintened or the pound is off
We will see
Take care everyone xx

biscuitcat · 15/02/2026 08:23

Hope everyone is well! You’re so right @Emmadaily - be really proud of what you’ve accomplished!

I’ve had a little whoosh off since Wednesday which I’m hoping will stick (though a little bit up since yesterday as we had wine and profiteroles after dinner as a nod to valentines!).

The challenge this week is finding half term things to do which aren’t going to a cafe in the miserable weather - we’re getting waterproofs on today and just braving the rain which will probably have to be the solution if we don’t want to go stir crazy or bankrupt ourselves at soft play!

TheWayTheLightFalls · 16/02/2026 09:45

Hello all, signing in for OMAD here (will be brunch in a sec). Quiet day, better keep myself busy!

ImALittlePea · 16/02/2026 10:04

Morning! Monday - half term... Eeek.

Weekend was of the indulgent kind, so I'm trying to get myself in the right mindset for all the good choices this week 😬 we're out most of today, but I've got tomorrow as a child and husband free day so I'll do some forward planning in peace and with good intentions 🙏

Hope everyone has a good week!

FridayNighFeeling · 16/02/2026 12:16

Well done @Emmadaily

Yup, hear you all about half term and wet/cold.

My weight has also bipped upwards this morning, but I'd had a lemsip before hopping on so who knows what the actual result is. Chinese tonight - oops

Determinedloser · 16/02/2026 13:47

Hope everyone had a nice weekend! I am struggling big time at the weekends. I do usually have calories left over from the week to help out but just feel I am overdoing it.

Scales need charged so haven’t weighed today. Hoping for a loss as no loss while on period last week but the weekend could have scuppered that.

Emmadaily · 16/02/2026 14:35

Thanks @FridayNighFeeling
Enjoy your Chinese later sounds great.
Actually I'm having one Wednesday evening after watching Shen Yun at the theatre ( to keep the Chinese theme going)
We are going the matinee show its part of my Christmas present 😊
Been looking at the menu and will try choose wisley so doesn't impact my weigh in on Saturday
Take care and everyone here to
I enjoy reading all the updates xx

Good Afternoon You Lovely Lot

Apologies for not posting sooner; I’ve been quite busy with health appointments and some life admin (I don’t know how you working mums fit it all in) and I’ve intended to post but got sidelined.

Im still incorporating the Zoe principles of eating more ferments but everything else I’m eating as I’ve always done pre-Zoe plus calarie counting/tracking … drum roll please … I’ve lost 2lbs in the past 12 days. Clearly Zoe was too carby for me and my portions were too big. Zoe really emphasises that calories don’t matter and eat to hunger cues (which I’ve always done but still tracked iyswim). Feeling much better and more svelte already 👍.

Interestingly my Zoe scores are lower as I’m not getting as much fibre and I’m eating smaller amounts. So in Zoe language my diet has become ‘worse’; but in reality it hasn’t as I’m eating the exactly same but smaller amounts. My scores on Zoe before were high 80s and 90s out of 100. Nearer to hundred the better. Now I’m achieving 60s & 70s.

Sidebar:- My recent blood glucose test showed that my HbA1c has increased from 34 to 36. This in my opinion is also evidence that Zoe was too carby. My mission is to reduce it back down by the time of my next blood test 👍

Menu
Meal 1 - Halloumi Salad & Seeded Loaf.
Meal 2 - Vegetable Medley & Spicy Chicken Balls. Strawberries & Greek Yoghurt.
Drinks - Tea, black coffee, hibiscus tea & water.

Hello 👋🏻 I've not checked in for a while. January and February ended up being unexpectedly busy, after looking for a long time we finally had an offer accepted on a house and had to get our current place on the market - tidying for viewings with 2 kids and winter bugs nearly broke me but we're sold now and hopefully the rest of the process will be smooth 🤞

I bought a book called Filling meals yesterday after stumbling across the Facebook page of the same name. Basically the idea is to make your breakfast and lunch really filling to eliminate snacks and cravings. All the recipes are about 500 calories so there's no need to track and it all looks really tasty and easy to scale up/down. I think it could be the answer for me as I get really hungry, especially when breastfeeding.

I have a few things happening the rest of Feb which I want to enjoy so I'm signing out of this thread for now and I'll see you all back here in March when I properly give the filling meals plan a go. Best of luck to everyone for the rest of Feb! Some really great progress being made!
