Where did September go? There is a definite chill in the air some mornings now 🥶 I always feel when October is here it’s the start of the 12 week countdown to Christmas!

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

I’m mainly maintaining but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞(I briefly dipped into the 8’s last month but the scale showing 9st 1lb this morning)

Happy WOW!

I was away last Wednesday so didn’t WOW so will use Thursdays weight to compare which gives me a loss of 2.4lbs. Seems excessive but I’ll take it!

Hi everyone, happy Wednesday.

This weeks weight 73kg.

SW: 74kg
TW: 65kg

1kg down, I am happy with that. Hoping for 1 more before the end of October!! The weight is so slow to come off, maybe i am still eating too much. Just wish it was as easy to lose weight as it is to put it on 😂Anyways we will keep trying!

A week of my weight creeping up (I know it does that after a loss) and stress but it’s gone and I have a small loss. So all good.

SW 89kg
CW 82.9kg
TW around 70kg
Happy Scale Target 81.4kg

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I’ve had quite a big loss this week of 2lbs which is lovely - especially as we’re having a weekend away (glamping on a farm - send non-rainy thoughts!!) so I’ll be less strict then, meaning next week probably won’t be such a big loss. That has me at:

SW - 15st10.5
CW - 13st7.5
GW - somewhere between 10 and 11 stone, depending on how I feel and look

I’d love to drop another kg this month which will officially have me out of the obese range and into being merely overweight!

Today’s menu:

B - Greek yoghurt with fruit
L - avocado and tomato toast
D - chicken fricasee

Morning WOWers! Well done for all the losses! It’s a stay the same for me - clinging on to 13st13 by my fingernails! I think more realistically it went up when I was ill and has now come back down again… seems like a waste of two weeks 🤦🏼‍♀️ But there we are.

One more WOW left of October after this. If I can own being in the 13s, I will take that.

Happy Wednesday everyone! Some great losses and victories here, well done. Gosh that's a bit of perspective @LemonDrizzle23 that there's only one more WOW left!

Have a great time glamping @biscuitcat I hope it stays dry for you. We're going in December- I'm hoping for crisp outside, cosy inside..

I'm still struggling with evening meals- both thinking of them and counting them. DH away this eve so cooking for one makes it marginally easier!

My WoW- I lost 1.5lbs!
SW: 10st7lbs
CW: 10st3lb

This is normally the point I would get complacent and stop tracking but I shall not- my evening out in November is looming and I want to feel good. MFP logged me out with the Amazon/internet issue on Monday but I've finally got back in and tracked.

Today's food:
B: high protein honey & seed granola, protein yoghurt & chopped berries
L: bagel thin with cottage cheese & chilli sauce, apple
D: spicy chicken & peppers in pitta & sweet potato wedges I think

We are having bacon and scrambled egg in white bread - one of those days, but looking forward to it and accounted for in calories! Oh and little veggie hashbrowns from Leon - they're quite good!

@socks1107i had a whole month of zero weight loss, I kept dropping the calories and it did nothing. I’ve had to go up to get the weight loss to start. It’s still slow but it’s at least moving now. I’m increasing my weights at the gym too.
It’s so complex to work these things out and how they work for you.

I lost 1lb this week, very happy with that. Food has been good today but I’ve felt hungry so think I’ll up the vegetables tomorrow. B - yoghurt/berries/almonds. L - soup, ryvita with meze, a banana, D - chicken and vegetable stew.

Looks like lots of successes on here today 💕. the biggest success must be keeping on keeping on though!
I read somewhere that at a plateau of weight loss going into feast mode and then back to "fasting" (ie eating less) can help to kickstart weight loss again. No idea if that's real or not though!
motivated by the self care aspect, I have started to use my face cream on my tummy! It's a Lidl one so not £££££ but I figured that if it was good enough to help with my face then it might help improve the skin on my belly 🤣 at the very least it feels like a nice thing to do for my self - and a bit of love to the part of me I find hard to love.
todays food
b - scrambled eggs with tomatoes, cheddar and sesame seeds, coffee with cream
coffee with cream at 11
l - Mexican bean bowl with mozzarella and eggs
snack to avoid hanger - broccoli florets with a bit of Parmesan
d - baked butter paneer, salad and broccoli and peppers thoran and yogurt. (Managed not to eat Rice that I'd made for everyone else! Huge win.)
dinner wasn't supposed to be so complicated but I got a bit carried away by nice I started cooking.....
now having herbal tea to avoid snacking further!!

I'd never heard of peppers thoran @Captainladder thank you that sounds right up my street! Glad you're leaning into the self care too, I think being kinder leads to better results in the long run. I know I don't do as well- and am miserable- when I use guilt/shame to try and force changes.

With that in mind I think I'm going to book myself a little treat for the end of the month as a "well done" for (mostly) sticking to it for a month! Hair or nails, I'm not sure which yet.

@Captainladder funny you should say that because I was away last week and more or less ate what I wanted - two course Italian meals, a chippy, a McDonald’s breakfast, pain au chocolats for breakfast etc. Didn’t go absolutely mad but definitely maintenance calories. I’ve come back and in the week since I’ve been back I’ve lost 3lbs when going back to my ‘diet’ calories. I did reduce them by 100 as had really been sticking, not losing at all for the last few weeks really or slight gains.

Could be nothing!

Morning all,
I'm just posting here because I'm close to caving and just eating everything at home.

I had a NSV yesterday. I managed to fit into some trousers and a skirt from before my hospital visit. So I'm feeling good and. Convincing myself that snacking would be a good celebration 😬

Going to the in-laws for the weekend and to see the Stranger Things play...so I'm just going to eat what I want and try not to worry about it and then next week will be birthday cake time 🥳 so I can't go off the rails now because the weekend and next week are going to be A LOT.

Yeah.
Thanks for having this thread so I can use it as a distraction. I have made a cup of tea whilst I've been typing which is better than eating all of the snacks.

Its my birthday tomorrow so going to be good today and then have cake and enjoy myself tomorrow too 😄

I think the colder weather and dark mornings/evening defo make it harder, i always just want tea and chocolate to warm me up! Tyring to keep it to a nice evening treat.

Today has been a rest day exercise wise, and food has been:
Spelt & Rye Sourdough, avocado, 1 egg and side of berries
Matcha Tea
Lunch was a banana protein shake as short on time
Dinner will be Toad in the Hole 😋

Oofffff

ate too much for dinner and now feeling uncomfortably full. It was a Thai curry with tofu and veg - if anyone likes Thai curry, I can highly recommend the Ice Kitchen frozen green / red Thai curry bases - they are really delicious and veggie.
Made myself sautéed grated courgette instead of rice .... and it wasn't too much of a hardship.
I've been veggie for 20 or so years now.... and I LOVE my carbs - especially rice! I'm not going to never eat it again obviously but I think it needs to kind of come under the "once in a while" category for me. Just these past 3 days where I have avoided them and eaten veggies instead, I've felt SO much less tired and I've slept better (despite having to wee like a racehorse in the night!)
breakfast - scrambled eggs, tomato, cheddar and sesame seeds
lunch - Mexican bowl mixed with broccoli cheddar soup leftovers which worked out surprisingly well
snack boiled egg and cheddar and bit of paneer left over
dinner Thai veg and tofu curry
i need to find a way of reducing that post work snack! Can't tell if it's hunger or a sort of transitional habit!

Hope everyone's doing OK. I've gone off the rails a bit following a family birthday that involved cake! Weighed myself this morning and I've only put on 1.2 lb so I'm getting back on track. I'm finding I'm not actually very hungry, snacking on sweet stuff is my downfall. I've nothing sweet left in the house though except some 85% dark chocolate, I have a couple of squares of that each evening so I don't feel like I'm depriving myself too much. Only 50 days to go to my holiday, I'd love to lose at least another half a stone by then.

Happy birthday!!

I’ve dropped calories a touch and have had a 1lb loss this week suddenly. I hope it sticks as that would be amazing if I’ve broken this plateau 🙂
