Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT!⭐️ Slimmimg September 2025⭐️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Where did September go? There is a definite chill in the air some mornings now 🥶 I always feel when October is here it’s the start of the 12 week countdown to Christmas!

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

I’m mainly maintaining but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞(I briefly dipped into the 8’s last month but the scale showing 9st 1lb this morning)

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

Happy Monday WOWers.

Back to work today and back to healthy eating.

B - porridge & berries
L - leek & potato soup, small portion cooked chicken, satsuma, chocolate almonds
D - not sure yet

popped on the scales this morning and I was 3lbs up on pre-holiday, but I am hoping that will come down after a few days of healthy living and no holiday wine!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 20/10/2025 19:37

Dinner ended up being a Hairy Bikers pork chow mein dish. Comes it at 315 calories, 21 grams of protein and 6 grams of fibre. And is very tasty.

I also did a Les mills Pilates class. My fitness is very much below par just now, so I’m going to try and build some movement in every day and build up to the strength and cardio classes I can do when I’m feeling much healthier. It doesn’t exactly burn many calories, but good for mobility!

TheWayTheLightFalls · 20/10/2025 19:52

Done! Steak, asparagus and grilled mushrooms at 10.30am, coffee etc only since. My other minor victory over the past week is slowly finding I don't want a sweetener in my coffee - I know they aren't great for me so it's nice to see them used a little less. Roll on tmrw morning.

Weighing - I have to weigh daily or the wheels fall off the bus here. I need the data!

socks1107 · 20/10/2025 20:08

I did our roast tonight as we ate out unexpectedly yesterday. I have kept under calories today, if I can get it moving again and over this stall I’ll be on target for 3 stone lost this year! That’s my new goal.

hope everyone has had a good Monday

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 20/10/2025 20:42

How have you weaned off the sweetener @TheWayTheLightFalls ? I switched from sugar to sweetener in my tea, but I’d like to eliminate it.

That’ll be an amazing loss @socks1107 well done on progress so far!

I'm not sure, you know? I think I am drinking more (decaf) coffee lately, and at some point I started tasting that artificial sweetness and not really wanting it. I'd say I still have it in around half my coffees, but I check in with myself rather than adding it on auto-pilot.

AreYouBrandNew · 20/10/2025 21:41

@socks1107 thats a great loss. Hoping I’m you by next summer 🙏😅

Captainladder · 20/10/2025 21:44

Hello all
long time lurker but bit fed up of feeling so bleugh ..... struggle between not wanting to be the size I am (5"6 and hovering around 100kgs) and thinking that I shouldn't want myself to take up less space! However. My tummy is just annoyingly in the way and short of surgery the only option I have to shrink it is diet (and exercise). I have just booked Christmas abroad in a hot place so would like to be able to see my toes a bit better by then!
I've had some success with 5:2 in the past but I can't get in the headspace for that, I hate calorie counting. I love food 🤣🫣
I need something simple.... I'm thinking low carb (veggie), 3 meals a day. I've done this in the past too and it worked..... Snack after kids finish school is my downfall - somehow I can't stop eating once I've started so I need to navigate that one. Maybe just snack on cucumbers / celery (which I love so it's not a hardship!).... initially..... until I get a handle on things.
weigh in tomorrow for me so I can start officially.

PersistentRain · 20/10/2025 22:13

Nightmare weekend involving taking child (fine now) to hospital and I have eaten lots of toast and biscuits. I was so tired today I shoved 2 biscuits in my face and a big bit of chocolate I was so tired. Dread what scales will say.
trying to go back to gym tomorrow if I get some sleep.

FridayNighFeeling · 21/10/2025 08:29

Not got time to read but just coming to say I'm now 8.4kgs/18.5lbs down since mid June! Will see if that sticks Shock
Flowers

AreYouBrandNew · 21/10/2025 10:12

I’ve hit my first milestone today of half a stone down - it’s taken 5 weeks which feels doable in the long run. Just got to do that another 6 times 💪💪

biscuitcat · 21/10/2025 11:17

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Welcome @Captainladder - back at the start of June that was what I weighed and I’m now about 86kg. I honestly feel so much better for it - it’s not about taking up less space, I think (from my experience) what really helps for successful weight loss is viewing the time and effort you’re putting in as self-care, because you’re absolutely worth looking after and it’s not selfish or giving into societal pressure to want to feel happier and healthier 💜

My menu today:

B - Greek yoghurt with roast plums and marzipan
L - either eggs or Itsu dumplings
D - chicken fricasee

DH away again so, as ever, my battle is not hitting the snacks after the kids are in bed and after my dinner. I’m wondering about roasting some chickpeas or something so I have a healthy, crunchy snack to hand which might steer me clear of everything else!

FridayNighFeeling · 21/10/2025 12:39

Just sitting down with lunch. Completely agree @biscuitcat that I now view it as self care to make nourishing meals and move my body and taking the time to see the osteopath/spend that money on me. At mid 40s I also need to start thinking that I will need to keep up bone health and muscle as I age although I've never been able to visualise myself getting even this old, it's obviously coming Wink

I'm going to really try and make this a lifestyle change. I'm annoyed that I'm 1 kilogram off where I started in 2019 with another 10 to loose at that point. I kept it off all through the chaos of Covid and then put it all back on and then some and now I have double the work to do.

frostedshreddie · 21/10/2025 16:01

Determinedloser · 21/10/2025 17:05

Finally caught up on the thread. Lots of new joiners and regulars all doing really well.

I really thought I’d blown it after my few days away last week, any time I loosen up on holiday I always struggle to get things back on track when I come home but I have managed to reign it in - wasn’t even going mad on holiday just eating out a fair bit which is always so calorie heavy.

Weighed in at 10 stone 5.6 which is my lowest weight since July last year and probably longer, just wasn’t weighing.

Expecting it to have bounced back up a bit for WOW tomorrow.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 21/10/2025 18:27

I was two pounds down today on yesterday - just shows what a week of salty food and wine can do!

I’ll weigh in again tomorrow and then get back on the proper logging of calories on nutracheck.

socks1107 · 21/10/2025 18:40

I thought my plateau had passed after my holiday. But no, back to up the higher weight this morning so it’s been two months now at the same weight. Very disappointing as I’d hoped to have done another half a stone but no and I’ve no idea how to break out of this!

Captainladder · 21/10/2025 19:53

Thank you @biscuitcat for the welcome and encouragement!
weighed in at 100.45 kgs this morning. It's not my heaviest which is pleasing - but it's not far off. I have been thinking about it a fair bit over the day and self care is an excellent reason to lose weight.... I think another reason I've been putting it off is the fact that I probably will end up with a lot of loose skin on my tummy which I hate the idea of. maybe I should just see when I get there though 🫣🤣. My skin gets stretch marks super easily and I don't think the skin will bounce back.
today's food was
b - scrambled eggs and avocado, coffee
coffee at 11
l - tomato, black beans and spinach, feta Mexican bowl
d- broccoli, chickpea and cheddar soup with a boiled egg
i did end up having a snack of half a cucumber with a bit of mayo and cheese.
Need to up the water intake
my wins were - no junk food 🎉
AND I didnt eat the cakes in the staff room 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm settled down with a cup of herbal tea to watch bake off now!

AreYouBrandNew · 21/10/2025 22:38

@Captainladder i hear you on the ‘after’ and lose skin. I’ll add in hair loss.

I think that going relatively slowly ie 1lb or just over a week is one way to give your body time to adjust and time to build muscle to plump out a bit plus less likely to be nutrient deficient which will surely impact the quality of skin

im really impatient though and an ex teenager of the 90s so it’s hard to switch out of the big losses/quick fixes mindset

TheWayTheLightFalls · 22/10/2025 06:12

Well done @Captainladder !

WoW here is 73.3kg - up slightly but that reflects my eating over the weekend! Good luck wowers.

Marshmellowbunny · 22/10/2025 07:12

Just catching up on yesterday and then I'll go and weigh!

I still haven't put on loads of weight from my medication and it's been a week, so that's something. I actually had some moments of positivity yesterday, so that's also something. I'm really hoping that they work. I'm not too sure what I'll do if they don't.

Anyway, down which is good, but birthday week next week and we're heading down south for the weekend, so I'll probably eat loads and put it all back on! And I'm okay with that. Life is for enjoying! So I'm going to enjoy myself.

socks1107 · 22/10/2025 07:54

Up 1/2 a pound. So still in the now 9 week stall.
so frustrating think I need to drop my calories but am eating exactly what every single calculator seems to suggest but my body doesn’t like it! Will take off 50 a day and see where I am in a month

socks1107 · 22/10/2025 07:54

Oh and well done everyone else! Whatever happens on the scale today you showed up for another week and that’s a good result 😊
