🥳🎄LOSE IT! Christmas Countdown December 2024🎄🥳

Hello and welcome!

Following on from 🎄LOSE IT! November 2024🎄

We are now entering the final few weeks of Countdown to Christmas 🎄🎄🎄 Do you want to look and feel absolutely fabulous in time for the festivities?

In adopting a few lifestyle changes and food choices you can 👌

If you’re a returner or a new starter feel free to jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to lose as well as those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I follow a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost 4 stones. After having been on the wrong side of 12st I am currently idling around 8st 10lbs.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

53.3kg! Not an all time low unless you count the day of my colonoscopy 🤣

LegoTherapy · 20/12/2024 10:26

If you count that awful day. I need more sleep! I think it's the lack of volume rather than lack of calories. I've been eating biscuits and crackers mainly and skipping lunch and dinner unless you count biscuits as a meal Blush I'm sure I'll gain a couple of pounds at least over Christmas.
The dc finish school today and I'll be very glad of it. How's everyone doing with Christmas prep? Or shouldn't I ask??

LemonDrizzle23 · 20/12/2024 11:52

I think I'm pretty much ready for Christmas. Presents are bought and all the food is turning up on Monday. Hopefully 😂
DH has finished work, so we've had a morning of wrapping gifts while DS is at school and the house is quiet.

My out of office reply is officially on until 2025 🎉 and I'm already vaguely thinking about 2025 and what I want to do. Need to think of some New Year's resolutions!

Have just booked a cottage in the midlands for a week in the easter hols. And I think we will try and be vaguely organised and book a summer hol during the Christmas break...

Fellsbells · 20/12/2024 13:33

Lots of wrapping to do, but I think the shopping is all done. I’m starting to worry about if I’ve got enough potatoes and pigs in blankets (I have).

Fellsbells · 20/12/2024 16:28

I am not going to eat the gingerbread snowman (repeat x1000)

beezlebubnicky · 20/12/2024 16:33

Well I haven't weighed myself in a couple of weeks as I know it'll be crap - hope Christmas prep going well for everyone! I haven't wrapped anything yet @Fellsbells

I have really struggled to stick to the plan of late, have totally fallen off with eating boxes of chocolates, drinking cremant etc. I'm going to try and make some healthier choices when I can though, and back on it straight after Christmas. If I do put on a little, then so be it.

Fellsbells · 20/12/2024 18:52

Surprised to say the gingerbread is uneaten. Today has come in on target.

L salmon pasta salad, houmous and carrots.
D pork with potatoes and cabbage
S fuck tonne of Greek yoghurt strawberry pudding.

LegoTherapy · 21/12/2024 11:39

Well done @Fellsbells you are showing amazing restraint. I'd have thought sod it and eaten it. We had take away pizza, chips and onion rings last night. Once upon a time I could eat a whole 12 inch pizza although the last slice would have been a challenge. Now I eat two slices or three if no chips and onion rings. We are having leftover pizza for lunch today.

53.5kg on the scales today.

Ds and I are watching Lego Star Wars and building Lego. I love the holidays!

Have a great weekend 🎄

LemonDrizzle23 · 21/12/2024 11:45

We will be making the gingerbread house at some point this weekend. We use the GF Lakeland one every year and it's glorious. I'm not sure ours will remain untouched....

I also need to marzipan and ice the Christmas cake!

Gym sessions booked in this afternoon, tomorrow morning and Monday afternoon. Duel purpose of keeping me moving and keeping me off the sofa with the Christmas chocolates in hand!

Food is all being kept very normal and non-Christmassy. Chicken and rice, spag bol and fajitas for the next three nights. Avoiding the scales....

Fellsbells · 21/12/2024 11:45

That sounds lovely @LegoTherapy very apt with your username.

I’m reading in front of the fire as the wind howls round the house. Very seasonal and cosy.

LegoTherapy · 21/12/2024 12:27

@Fellsbells that sounds idyllic. I've been meaning to read something festive but this month has gone so fast. I'll prioritise it tonight at bedtime because reading is my biggest love along with Lego.

TheRealHousewife · 21/12/2024 20:42

Hi Everyone

I think I’m more excited about Winter Solstice than Christmas 😅🥳 From tomorrow the nights start drawing back out!

Wishing you all a lovely Christmas Saturday 🥰🎄

LegoTherapy · 22/12/2024 02:48

We went to a Solstice gathering that was rather lovely. There are lots of things amiss right now in the Lego house. Christmas has been much looked forward to but is now hanging in the balance. It's 2.45 and I'm yet to go to bed due to traumatic events tonight. I'm going to wrap the last two presents then try to sleep. Today has been pizza and chocolate. Chocolate for breakfast (a packet of rolos), a slice of left over pizza for lunch, small slice of pizza at the solstice gathering, 2 chocolates at my mum's house (strawberry M&S quality street thingies( and 1.5 slices of left over pizza for dinner. Fuck all water and 3 small cups of tea. Utter shite! Tomorrow (today 😩) will be better as I've at least got a freshly baked loaf for breakfast.

LegoTherapy · 22/12/2024 03:37

All presents now wrapped 😃 I should try to sleep but my stomach thinks it's breakfast time and the weather is wild out there with hail battering the window.

TheRealHousewife · 22/12/2024 09:38

Good Morning All

@LegoTherapy sorry to hear about the traumatic event! I do hope you’re all ok and something can be salvaged ❤️. Sending a hug x

Checking in with 53.05kg this morning after 4 hours sleep 😩 I've got a buffer zone for Christmas eating and lack of exercise now. I didn't plan it they way but I'm not complaining!

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday. My plan is to watch films and build Lego with ds.

Goodafternoonmillie · 22/12/2024 10:36

@LegoTherapy hope you and family are all ok.

I completed a quick workout yesterday and today and have been making sure to drink lots of water. However all food plans have gone completely out the window and Im looking forward to starting afresh after Boxing Day 😆

Fellsbells · 22/12/2024 17:00

Hope today has been better for the @LegoTherapy family.

Ate a bit too much last night, but I still haven’t had any chocolate or sugar so that’s a win. Today is going ok. The gingerbread is still uneaten.
Short term goal is to be looking good for the rest of December. That means keeping my blood sugar even, plenty of vegetables and sleep.

LemonDrizzle23 · 23/12/2024 09:38

Sorry you had a shock @LegoTherapy I hope things are ok.

Well we have reached fever pitch here. DS is beside himself with Christmas joy and is about 2 seconds from tears about something at all times 😂

Half the Christmas food has arrived. We need to go and pick up the rest in a few mins, and then we need to start cooking!

Last pre-Christmas gym session booked in today. Then will be surrendering myself to the Christmas food gods....

Fellsbells · 23/12/2024 17:35

Using all my will power to eat greek yoghurt for pudding instead of gingerbread or cake. I’ve gone a week with no chocolate/sweets or cake.

B greek yoghurt
L 1/4 of a pizza, houmous, salad
D thai red chicken curry, veg and rice noodles. More greek yoghurt.

LegoTherapy · 24/12/2024 09:09

Thank you for the well wishes. Things are much better now.

I have at WOT of 52.8kg/8st 4lb and that's my final weigh in of this year probably. I was 55.2kg on Christmas Eve last year so I'm surprised with myself. When I joined these threads my goal was 9st 3lb which is what I was before I got pregnant with ds 10 years ago. The rolls of flabs on my stomach are finally diminishing to a point it doesn't make me want to cry. My thighs are still chunky but there is a thigh gap that was never there before these threads. Thanks to everyone who has kept me going and helped me achieve my goal of giving myself the gift of weight loss for Christmas. I finally feel and look slim.

Goodafternoonmillie · 24/12/2024 10:45

Insane willpower @Fellsbells

thats amazing @LegoTherapy and very inspiring. 9 st exactly is my pre- pregnancy weight and overall goal. Hopefully I can achieve like you in 2025.

Merry Christmas Eve everyone 🎄

Fellsbells · 24/12/2024 12:55

Well done @LegoTherapy it makes it all worth while when you can be happy with your body.

I’m in Christmas Eve mode, non stop cooking, cleaning and prepping. I secretly love it! I also forget to eat which is another silver lining.

LemonDrizzle23 · 24/12/2024 15:41

A big cooking day here for us as well. FIL is fairly newly vegetarian, and Christmas for us is a total meat fest, so we've had to get a bit more creative than usual. Not a bad thing! I think everyone will be happy.

I'm about to go and put Nigella's Salted Chocolate tart together, and then I think my cooking is finally done for the day!

Wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas 🎄 See you in a few pounds, I mean, a few days!

TheRealHousewife · 24/12/2024 16:59

Merry Christmas Everyone! 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

Wishing you joy, peace and all the best for this holiday season ❤️

Don’t worry about excess calories as we’ll bust their ass in January 2025 😅
