Hello and welcome!

Following on from 🎄LOSE IT! November 2024🎄

We are now entering the final few weeks of Countdown to Christmas 🎄🎄🎄 Do you want to look and feel absolutely fabulous in time for the festivities?

In adopting a few lifestyle changes and food choices you can 👌

If you’re a returner or a new starter feel free to jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to lose as well as those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I follow a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost 4 stones. After having been on the wrong side of 12st I am currently idling around 8st 10lbs.

Morning all, only joined the thread yesterday but really inspirational to read everyone's stories.
Okay day for me yesterday - didn't eat until 3pm, planned to have a 4-hr window, but at 10pm found myself scoffing some sweets I'd put aside for stockings - arghhh. Think I was probably hungry.
Another day today! away this weekend, in-laws have planned Dominoes for one meal and will have loads of snacks - not entirely sure what my approach should be? Any tips from anyone for making it through festive visits?

Day 4 for me and wanted to say thanks for the inspiration. Making better choices and drinking more water but not moving enough as work is busy (always an
excuse) goal set and feeling motivated. Thanks all

Welcome to the newcomers! You'll do great on here!

I'm stressing trying to get ready to welcome guests and make the house look festive. They aren't staying with us but they will be here during the day and the house is not looking its best. There's just not enough time in the day and I've got a full day tomorrow too with festive baking and decorating and whatnot. I'd like to have an hour to catch up with Shetland tonight but it's not looking promising.

Lots of good menus on here! It's not my week 😂...now have an awful tooth infection in the molar on the other side, it's so painful.

Back to subsisting on soft foods, felt so miserable I ate a 95g bar of Dairy Milk which definitely won't help matters lol. Got a second set of antibiotics now (the horrid metronidazole) so hoping that will sort things quickly.

hope everyone is doing well and having a good week :)

forgot to post yesterday but my weight was
10 st 3.2 lbs so was happy with that, as moving in right direction. However yesterday also did not count calories or workout and had a general ‘off’ day! enjoyed festivities though! Have not weighed today but straight back on it.
30 min Hiit completed ✅
green smoothie for breakfast ✅

plan for lunch is to make a minestrone soup and have with slice of wholemeal sourdough.
dinner is homemade meatballs and salad.

53.95kg this morning! I'm not quite sure how but I checked again and yes, it's correct. We are out for lunch today then maybe a take away later so it's a good job really.

The house got done thankfully. I should really learn to be more tidy on a day to day basis but never seem to manage it.

Have made a real effort this week not to eat in the evenings which is making a real difference in the way I sleep.

Haven't got my head back into yoga yet but have been getting out for a walk more often.

Can't believe Christmas is so close now - will be glad to get the other side of the 21st and know that the days will be starting to get longer.

Well it's DS's birthday this weekend, so we have reached peak busy (and peak cake 😬). Having a lovely time however.

Met a friend for lunch on Thursday and another for lunch on Friday. Lunch today was pizza as it was DS's choice. Have been struggling to calorie count therefore for several days, so have given up and just tried to add fruit and veg wherever possible 🤷‍♀️

Should be back to normal tomorrow, and a quiet following week.

Hope the storm hasn't caused anyone too much damage!

@PatienceOfEngels it was delish but won't be making it again. I had to have quite a bit of very hot oil in the pan and it was stinky for ages after.

@LemonDrizzle23 sounds like a lot of fun! You'll soon be back into a routine 👍

Wow it's been wild out there. I hope everyone is safe.

We had a lovely day yesterday with our guests and despite two meals out I'm 100g down this morning at 53.85. Weird but I'm not complaining. What I am complaining about is yet another sore throat 😩

I'm planning a quiet afternoon once our guests have gone home. Tomorrow is present wrapping day while the dc are at school.

@TheRealHousewife that crispy beef looks amazing!!

Positive steps taken this weekend, include:

  • freezing left over birthday cake in reasonable portions
  • not eating the cold soggy chips I was presented with at lunch time. Not worth the calories!
  • booking a physio appointment for Tuesday as my shoulder is at this point, clearly not going to un-fuck itself 🙄

Plan for the week:

  • minimum 10,000 steps daily
  • healthy slow cooker lunches
  • 3 x bike sessions
  • no meals out

hope everyone has had a good weekend!
I’ve lost my way a little. Haven’t weighed for a few days now until Im a bit more back on track. It’s definitely hard in December with so many temptations!!
I also got my period and it totally floored me energy wise. I got up with the kids yesterday at 6am and an hour later had to go back to bed, ended up sleeping another 2 hours!! Was so so drained.

As well as we are currently in the process of trying to move house and was hoping to exchange before Christmas but as always there are some bumps along the way, not sure what is happening right now but it is STRESSFUL. Many tears today.

anyway, I hope to get a bit more on track tomorrow. Some photos were taken this weekend in front of the christmas tree and I look like a big toe 🤣 so thats my motivation!!

I didn't have a good week and ate way too much junk food etc but trying to stay on track this week. I do have my work Christmas thing this week so that is the only day I am going to try and go off track. Struggling now December has hit!

Afternoon All

It’s getting busy now with all the festive prep … is everyone organised? I’d intended to do some wrapping this afternoon but having quite the pain flare up so going to give it a miss.

@Skyglimmer Dont worry about last week as it’s done with. Try to see how you can mitigate other social events that involve food. 👍. Be solution focused rather than defeatist. You’ll be pleased you did. 😊

I ate two meals that were not big, just a half portion really and they must have been more salty than I thought because I've gained a kilo! I also drank a lot of juice which is rare but I fancied it yesterday. I'm full of a cold and feeling rough. A kilo though. How rude! It could be the amount of mucus in my nasal passages...

@TheRealHousewife I was very confused when a message about my 'big snout' flicked up on my watch. But I think you meant to tag @LegoTherapy 😂 I was wondering for a moment what on earth I'd posted 😳

Physio confirmed that I've damaged myself - she's diagnosed a rotator cuff injury. Ouch. At least I know I'm not going mad. Have some exercises and stretches to do. Hopefully the pain will start to subside soon.
I've done some pity eating today. Back on it tomorrow.

I have a rather delicate snout I'll have you know! It's the salty food. It's a bugger for making me retain water. We went out for a meal tonight too and I am stuffed so I think I'll skip weigh in tomorrow 

@LemonDrizzle23 I hope your shoulder improves soon. It sounds very painful.
