5-7kg in 6 weeks

I'm in need of a reset, a few big milestones before Christmas and too much celebration has left me feeling rubbish.
I'm 69.1kg, I feel much more comfortable around 62-64kg.
I've set myself a challenge.
Drop 5kg (ideally 7kg) in 6 weeks.
Train 6 x per week
1400-1600 calories
125g protein
As little booze as possible (on day 7 with no booze)
First week was hard, I was so cranky!
But I'm down 1.5kg (mostly water) and through the worst of the booze cravings.
Anyone want to keep me company?

Yes please almost the same goal.

I'm 73kg and should really be more like 63kg for health and feeling good reasons.

I've just done a week with no booze but mostly because I had a bad cough.

I've just this evening ordered some protein and huel greens to get more protein and nutrients in.

I can't train 5-6 times but my goal is to walk way way more and my gym will be ready in 3 weeks so I may lag on the exercise but will increase protein and fibre and get shit if processed carbs.

Happy to check in!

Very similar aim here
I'm 68.9kg, feel my best at 58ish kg but haven't been that for a good 4-5 years I don't think!
Was 61kg before my second pregnancy 4 years ago.
I'm 5ft 5.

With 2 little kids the training just isn't going to happen but will try to get a bit more active, cut down on the grazing.
I actually don't want to give up the booze, I only have a couple of glasses of wine at the weekend so that's staying haha

Fantastic - love a bit of accountability!
Anyone fancy sharing their day on a plate?

Checking in for roll call with again very similar goals. Had a baby 8 months ago and the weight doesn't seem to be shifting. I'm 69kg and would feel better at 64kg. Been good(ish) for a week but not done as much exercise as I'd like due to very needy baby.

Prepped some healthy food today though for the week.

Hey!
Yeah I'm 67kg and want to get to 62kg, which is where I felt happy after baby #1. I'm now 7 months pp after baby #2. Struggling to kick the sugar addiction right now and also breastfeeding which makes me hungry! And shattered!

Not getting out for runs/walks as often as I'd like but really trying....

Stubborn 5k to lose it seems!

I have 9kg left to lose and there is no way I could lose 5kg in 6 weeks at all. Maybe you can but that’s not a very realistic goal for a lot of people. As you get nearer your goal weight it just gets harder and harder. If you do a load of exercise during weight loss you are going to retain a lot of water, be really hungry and if you dont eat enough calories you will lose muscle mass. It’s very hard to lose weight and build muscle at the same time. Also I think this could be considered a crash diet so isn’t sustainable. Healthy sustainable weight loss would be more likely to be 0.5kg a week - you are aiming to try for over 2lbs a week to get a KG off, that’s top end of what is possible or healthy tbh. Good luck!

anyone who is breastfeeding just take it easy. 12 weeks will put less strain on you and be more sustainable

Yep you're right @Menora. I would love to lose 5kg that quickly but know it's impossible especially with a very active 8 month old who won't be put down, and breastfeeding. But I will be up for at least trying to make a difference and go for some weight loss (0.5kg a week) to be realistic or sustainable. I'm eating relatively well at the moment, I want to start dumbbells as I'm hoping strength training may help make a difference

Im a lot heavier than you guys, but (apart from today) have been low alcohol, zero snacks, minimal sugar except after dinner. And aiming for 13 hours zero calories overnight. Plus 4-5 early morning excerise videos.
2 weeks in, and I'm 3.5kg down.
I've set myself mini targets - 8kg by Easter. Then a further 5kg, and a third 5kg. That would get me to my lightest post baby weight. A further 5k gets me to my typical pre baby weight (babies are at secondary school!)

@pizzawinecake I am losing about 0.5kg a week and it’s not torture 😂 so think having a realistic outlook is important as it’s so easy to give up when you feel like you are failing or put your health and wellbeing at risk.

Hi. I'd love to join. I'm 4 months PP , was def lighter leaving hosp and after Xmas but January was a holy show with viral illness so looks like I comfort ate through it.
Ready for a clean slate and to feel better coming into spring. Want to make the most of my maternity leave by getting decent steps in every day.
I estimate im 78 kg , way too short for that kind of weight. Am breastfeeding which I know can cause hunger but really just need to zip it and move it. Confused

Hi all. I’d love to join please so I can weigh weekly and check in for accountability. Any insight, tips and camaraderie will also be lovely.

  • Current weight: 61.6kg today
  • First mini target: 60kg *(-1.6kg/3.5lbs)* -in the next couple of weeks would be wonderful. (I feel like 2lbs a week then 1.5lb a week is not too unreasonable but we’ll see.)

I work best with mini targets with short time frames although I actually want to lose 5-7kg too.

I ran out of the house in a rush with a hot cross bun in my mouth before I remembered I was supposed to be good.

After that slight miscalculation 🤣

1porridge
Raspberries and half banana
Dark chocolate
Black coffee x 2
Meal was Chicken hello fresh tacos thing with extra salad to fill me up.

Hot cross bun season is a killer!!!!
Nothing is off limits tho, if you can fit it in your allowance.
I've been trying volume eating, so I get as much bang for my buck as possible.

Hello all!

Happy to join. I want to lose 5kg too (although I don't necessarily have a time frame). I exercise quite a bit and do fluctuate weight, but as of last week I was 68kg.

A regular day I'll eat:

90g of skyr and a handful of blueberries and 4 pecans
One celery stalk with 30g of reduced fat hummus
One banana
Dinner varies, but yesterday I had a med size bowl of tuna pasta
Dessert was three teaspoons of ice cream
I'm aiming for half a bottle of wine and just two pints a week.

On a normal day I work out:
40mins Peloton bike
20mins arms/ legs
10 -15 mins core
10 - 15 mins yoga

According to my garmin that's around 550 daily active cals.

No way I could do that on 1400-1600 calories per day.

I can drop 1kg per week on about 1000 calories per day (usually IF or OMAD) plus exercise, but I can't and don't want to do that for more than about a month at a time.

I gained 1.5 the other day and lost it as quick. It was ovulation time for me. Happens every month. It’s so discouraging and nearly makes me fall off the wagon but trust the process if you’ve been eating well and exercising.

Hey! Can I join? I'm losing the rest of my baby weight, but have currently lost all motivation so it'llbe nice for a bit of support around me or even just people to be accountable to.

I've got 3.7kg to lose to get myself to my pre-pregnancy weight, but I'm happy to just lose 0.5kg per week for the next few weeks, so 2kg over the next 4 weeks would be great!

I'll be doing calorie counting (1700-1800 per day as breastfeeding) and C25K plus a cross fit class on a Friday.

@Worththeweight do you weigh once per week? I find that if I have an erroneous or unexpected result to weigh every day and look for trends. I tend to get weird fluctuations but the weight usually just drops off after a day or two. So much can effect weight than just fat- water weight- so if you've had a salty or carby meal the night before, you'll hold onto water, hydration levels, if you've worked out and your muscles are still recovering, if you've had a BM or not...

Try to relax and definitely don't think "stuff it!" and fall face first into a tub of ben and jerry's! Carry on with what you're doing. Maybe weigh your food for a day or two to ensure that calories logged are accurate, drink plenty of water to flush out excess water weight and keep positive. We can do this!

Making sure I hit my daily steps and in a calorie deficit. I'm feel so much better than I did at Christmas and now super keen to lose the last little bit 😊
