5-7kg in 6 weeks

I'm in need of a reset, a few big milestones before Christmas and too much celebration has left me feeling rubbish.
I'm 69.1kg, I feel much more comfortable around 62-64kg.
I've set myself a challenge.
Drop 5kg (ideally 7kg) in 6 weeks.
Train 6 x per week
1400-1600 calories
125g protein
As little booze as possible (on day 7 with no booze)
First week was hard, I was so cranky!
But I'm down 1.5kg (mostly water) and through the worst of the booze cravings.
Anyone want to keep me company?

How is everyone tracking? I'm stuck at 67kg. I've been pretty consistent, so disheartened by the progress. However feeling better which is good.
I'm committed to 6 F45 session a week, plus I've been adding an extra 1KM on the ski erg after every class which has been good for my mental resilience.

I'm 4 months pp with dd3 and 61.9kg. Hoping to get to 56kg. Feels a long way off, but happiest that weight. Breakfast = low sugar muesli (asda smartprice)- Nedd oats as exclusively bf.

Lunch 1 x brown bread and soup or bagel etc.

Dinner = various- using smaller plate and replacing part carb with lots of veg e.g. 1 spoonful less of rice and 2 spoonfuls more of veg . No puddings or hot chocolates or chocolate until goal weight. Hoping I'll be there in 6 weeks.

gemini1990 · 13/03/2024 19:23

I'm down to 64kg from 66.6kg 6 weeks ago so I'm sooo happy with that.

Been quite stressed and lost my appetite - I'm breastfeeding so conscious to try and not damage my milk supply.

I have 2kg to go until I'm at pre baby weight but would like to lose another 2kg on top of that I think....

Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the process!

DinnerNightmare · 13/03/2024 21:36

You're all doing great. I have major PMT and want ALL the chocolate 😂 I'm trying very hard to be good but I had a little bit today. Trying to be kind to myself.

Good morning ladies!

Well done for the weight losses so far! I've had a result on the scales! (Finally!)

So week 1: -0.8kg, week2: -0.5kg, week 3: +0.3kg, week 4: +0.1kg

Now week 5, I've lost 0.5kg!!! Bringing my total to a modest 1.4kg in 5 weeks.

I'd like to attribute my weight loss to increasing my calorie defecit further/ hitting the gym hard, but in reality, the endocrinologist tweaked my meds again and slightly upped my levothyroxine dose as I was still showing that my thyroid was still underactive. In the last few days I've noticed the scale finally budging. I'm keeping the same calorie deficit, going to my circuit class on a Friday and doing 2-3 30 minutes on the treadmill per week doing c25k. It looks like it's just the meds that have finally made the difference.

Just goes to show what an impact your health can have on weight loss in general!

@DinnerNightmare are you taking a magnesium supplement? I find times when my chocolate cravings go mad, I must be deficient in magnesium. I take a mg and calcium supplement before bed and it seems to reduce the cravings.

You get people telling you to eat a couple of squares of really good dark chocolate, but that never works for me- I could eat a whole share sized bar of 85% chocolate in one sitting and still be looking for more.

Cacao powder is high in magnesium, so if you can be bothered, get some raw cacao powder and try to make healthier versions of cake or desserts. Nuts are also a good source of magnesium, but high calorie.

I like chocolate baked oats- about 80g oats, 1 egg, 100ml milk, 1/2 mashed banana or 2/3 deleget noir or 1 medjool date soaked and blended, then a heaped tablespoon of cacao powder. I also add inulin for prebiotic fibre too, but not an ingredient most people have to hand. You can add a little more sweetener if you like and a few chocolate chips to make it more of a treat. Mix all together and bake for about 20 minutes. It's just over 500 calories for the lot, obviously more if you add in chocolate chips , but because of the oats, I find it quite filling and satisfying to have a slice with a cup of tea in the afternoon or evening, but I kid myself and tell myself that it's also a perfectly acceptable breakfast food! Might be worth a try!

@Pitstop1986 magnesium is a good tip. I used to take it for my period cramps and that was massively helpful. I don't get cramps or periods anymore since I've had the coil fitted so stopped taking magnesium. I do still however feel my cycles, hence the PMT. Still got magnesium so will try taking it again.

Glad that your medication is being sorted. That must be majorly frustrating.

I just did it! I focussed on eating 1400-1600 cals a day, low carb, restricted eating window with lots of veg and lean sources of protein (and lowish saturates). Now I’m looking to drop the next 7kg!

my favourite ‘breakfast’ is 2 ryvita cracked black pepper crisp breads, quark / ricotta cheese, a few drops of tabasco, 5-6 walnut halves, and a big mug of coffee with milk.

I often skip lunch and dinner is either a salad or a calorie controlled portion of whatever I make my son. I’m loving pasta arrabiata at the moment.

DinnerNightmare · 15/03/2024 13:00

This morning's weigh-in was 67.7 kg. I've not been at 67 anything for a long time. That's 2.5kg down in 3 weeks. I'd like another 2.5kg off but I'm really happy with my progress so far.

Worththeweight · 16/03/2024 21:03

Well done everyone!
I weighed in at 69.4KG this morning, which is heavier than what I started at 🤣

So I got down to 66kg, lost 3% body fat.

Well done @Worththeweight!!! That's a huge amount in 11 days! I've lost 0.5kg in the time. It's very slow progress for me 5 months post partum. This is usually when I drop weight fast when breastfeeding (3rd baby). Hopefully it will get easier.

chatenoire · 27/03/2024 16:38

I lost 500g after a few days abroad (and indulging in street food and booze) and not exercising for more than a week. So to me weight loss has definitely no rhyme nor reason.

Pitstop1986 · 31/03/2024 13:31

@chatenoire I've been away for nearly 2 weeks so it'll be interesting to see what the scale says next time I stand on them!

Pitstop1986 · 04/04/2024 04:58

OK so after 2 weeks away I weighed in yesterday am overjoyed to announce that I've lost 1.2kg!!!

I'm not sure if there's something going on with eating a high protein breakfast that everyone goes on about...

The hotel that I was staying at didn't really cater for gluten free (I'm not coeliac, just intolerant so I can eat traces) so from the buffet breakfast, all I was eating was fruit, eggs, bacon, deli meats, cheese and sautéed veggies or salad (although the breads cakes and pastries on offer looked so deliciou!) I was so full that I either didn't eat lunch or just had a salad, then milky coffee or a mocha (sometimes with a cake) or an ice cream mid afternoon, then dinner was usually a rice based dish as it's usually the safe option for a gf diet.

We obviously were getting our steps in, as people do on holiday, but I wasn't doing any other exercise other than an odd 15 minute swim in the pool. I definitely didn't feel like I was depriving myself either. Turns out that the holiday diet is the way forwards!

Yes going on holidays definitely works! I went back to my normal routine and gained a full kilo!

Cutoutthecrap · 04/04/2024 09:45

I will join in. My overall goal is to lose 9kg and be back to my pre-covid weight. It’s crept on over the last three years purely due to bad habits. I’ve lost 2kg in the last two weeks so 7kg to go. I walk 10k a day anyway so my plan is just cutting out alcohol and all the snacking of unhealthy foods.

DinnerNightmare · 04/04/2024 12:00

@Pitstop1986 great work on the holiday diet. 👏

I fell off the wagon a little, not logging mostly...but I'm back. 68kg as of this morning, which isn't too bad. I booked a holiday for late July, so I adjusted my target to get down to 62kg by 1st of July. Went for a run earlier this week, which was nice. First time in a long time. Going to see if I can keep that up...😬🤞

TTCaxristi · 15/05/2024 11:19

Hi everyone, could I join? I’m 4 months pp with DC2 and trying to get back to pre baby weight of 52kg. I’m currently 56kg so still a little way to go. I’m breastfeeding during the day too so haven’t wanted to diet too much in case it affects the milk but I’m losing patience now x

Cutoutthecrap · 15/05/2024 11:39

I am stuck. 5kg lost but I’ve stayed the same for the last 2 and a half weeks.
