Has anyone traveled either Wegovy pen in carry-on luggage? Did you just handle the same as any other small quantity of liquid? Any concern about the needle?

Thanks

Should read "with their "

The instructions say that the clicks aren't representative and shouldn't be used to count doses. Are we ignoring that and assuming it's near enough?

Just like they told us we shouldn't use the excess medicine and to throw the pen away - until there was a shortage and they told us we should use the excess to get extra doses out of the pen.

Just like the UK say we have to use pen in 6 weeks but US say use it up in 8 weeks

I'm far too cynical to believe what they say is for patient safety rather than focused on maximising profits...

Hmm

Hmm

Yes exactly.
They don't want us to take 8 x 0.5 doses from a 1mg pen as we're spending half as much as buying two 0.5mg pens.

I don't think it's that simple - the instructions for semaglutide as diabetes medication say the same thing about clicks.

AhBiscuits · 22/01/2024 15:38

I guess it's because they try to make these things fool proof and relying on people counting clicks introduces a potential for errors.

Feeling a bit disheartened. I’m on my last dose of 0.25. Other than a couple of nights of the most horrendous stomach pain and nausea, I haven’t really felt any impact. I’m not feeling full before or during meals. If anything, I seem to be hungrier than normal, I’ve only lost 4lbs since starting and I’m losing motivation rapidly. Today I’ve just grazed all day 😥

Please help me get my mojo back!

ExpatForLife · 22/01/2024 16:24

4 lbs in 4 weeks is well within the expected range, no? It sounds like you are doing fine!

mydaughterisademon · 22/01/2024 16:37

Did anyone find they had insomnia?

Hotgirlwinter · 22/01/2024 17:40

5lbs off half way through week 2, motivated to make that to half stone by time 3rd 0.25 dose comes around - I’m pushing it out one day as I have a commitment and don’t want to risk illness, so moving from Friday eve to Saturday afternoon.

as this will be my third I am going to order next pen, going to move to 0.5 I think, if it’s available. 0.25 seems ok initially but wears off about 4/5 days in.

some great loses on here so far, am determined to have got a stone off by end of feb (so 7 weeks from starting)

Thegoldgrind · 22/01/2024 17:49

Icepop79 4 pounds is great, especially having to rely on your own willpower! To try and increase your enthusiasm and motivation perhaps try something alongside the jab? Plan your meals and snacks the night before and have them already set out? Try adding in a new exercise or a walk to your day? I have scheduled some chocolate and a g&t into my calorie budget which gives me something to look forward to while eating my lunchtime salad 🤣

Annwithout · 22/01/2024 18:14

@Lovesthebeach
@Annwithoutdid you decided to go with the 1.0?
I'm still pondering and psyching myself to do it, I'm just scared it's such a big jump, but then 0.5 was double 0.25 too!

I just took a deep breath and went in with 0.1 I counted around 75 clicks if that helps anyone. Fingers crossed!

Hopthegoodgod · 22/01/2024 19:21

I have moved up to .50 this week. No weight loss at all. No side effects and haven't lost appetite at all. Nothing , nada, zilch. Feeling despondent. Contacted company who said it can take up to three months for loss of appetite. 😩

Lovesthebeach · 22/01/2024 19:23

@Icepop79 i didn’t lose that much on 0.25 although I felt the effects of the appetite suppression etc. defo stick with it and move up to 0.5 as that’s when I found the weight really started to shift x

well done @Hotgirlwinter sounds like you’re doing brill.

@mydaughterisademon meeee! Especially the first few nights after I inject… I seem to fall asleep fine but it’s a light sleep full of the most bizarre dreams!!

Lovesthebeach · 22/01/2024 19:24

@Annwithout well done! I took the 0.75 but am now wondering if I should’ve just pushed on and done the 1.0… time will tell this week I guess!

EatingTillIDie · 22/01/2024 22:30

Stalled a bit as I have covid so feel awful and sorry for myself. Let myself eat today and it felt good. Was due a jab but thought I'd give myself a couple of days off. Will see what it does to the scales.

Sorry you’re still feeling so poorly. Hopefully it doesn’t linger and you feel better soon x

Woke up in the early hours feeling nauseous, then a LOT of f*rting and Wegovy burping. Wishing I'd had a bash at doing 0.75 first but too late now!

GU24Mum · 23/01/2024 09:14

You're all doing so well - I feel a bit deflated that I just don't think I can manage it. I did a bit of Ozempic but the nausea was too bad. After a year off and lots of weight on, I decided to have another go.

Took 0.5 yesterday and the nausea is awful. I was sick too though that's better than the nausea tbh. Think I'm going to use the lack of appetite to get back onto Cambridge then stick with that. Something needs to work - but for me it doesn't look like it will be Wegovy.

AhBiscuits · 23/01/2024 09:53

Why did you start on 0.5 @GU24Mum ?
Would it be worth trying 0.25? It can take a while to get used to it. I've had spells of feeling quite sick but not really any more.

I've had an email telling me it's time to increase to 1.7. I've ordered another 1mg pen. I'm on 0.75 at the moment and will be for another week. I'll then do 6 weeks at 1mg and assess at that point.

GU24Mum · 23/01/2024 09:57

I'd been up to 1.0 on Ozempic so thought 0.5 would be ok (though definitely not!). I felt sick the whole time on Ozempic too though even on a very low dose. Well done for making it work for you. Time for Plan B for me though I think.

Gogodonu · 23/01/2024 10:26

did anyone else find it took a while to start working.
W1 0.25
w2 0.25
w3 0.5
w4 0.5 (on Monday) and not feeling any different at all

is this normal? Feels like a big waste of money at this point
thanks

I felt it working right away at 0.25 but it didn't last as long in the week until a few doses in.
I think generally you're not expected to have much results until you reach the therapeutic doses.
Might be worth checking basics though, definitely injecting into the appropriate sites and not missing any doses?

JennyBeanR · 23/01/2024 10:44

Also another quick update. The 1mg is really churning my guts. Sorry for the tmi but it's pretty rough ATM. I would definitely advise titrating up slowly to avoid this.
