Would anyone like to join me doing this?
I'm eating carbs still and having sweetener in coffee but no cakes, biscuits, chocolate or puddings for a month. I haven't got any meals out or special occasions planned so that should help.

Today I've turned down a chocolate digestive and some orange Afrer Eights. So proud of myself! Halo

ShitIforgothelves · 04/01/2024 23:11

Well done!!

I'm doing fine over here- no real cravings, but I have broken out massively all over my face. I look like the pizza I no longer allow myself to eat. Coincidence? Who knows. I'm a bit grumpy about it though.

Great job! On an entirely unrelated note, really fancy some cheese and oatcakes now.

Well done everyone for all the resisting of temptation. Maybe the breakout is more related to Christmas Tiredanddistracted? Hope it goes away soon. I am a daily weigher and pleased to see a downward trend this week so far despite all the cheese.

MyBoysHaveDogsNames · 06/01/2024 12:12

I'm feeling less bloated so that's good. Resisted Kinder eggs being waved under my nose yesterday.

Also now want cheese. At least that contains protein.

I think you mist be right, @RunningAndSinging. It seems to be going down very quickly, much faster than my normal spots do. I've also just started my period today, so that probably has something to do with it.

Just weighed in. 5lbs down. Gratifying, given the amount of homemade bread, olive oil, full fat dairy and nuts I've had!

RunningAndSinging · 06/01/2024 14:42

That’s great Tiredanddistracted. I have avoided sugar at the cinema today.

Scousebloke · 06/01/2024 15:53

Just checking in. Day 5 iof no cakes, puddings, biscuits, chocolate, sweets etc. Not fell off at all. Pleased with myself. Good luck to everyone trying x

Well done everyone! Day 6 for me and still going well, I did have a homemade muffin today which has a bit of coconut sugar in it (plus fruit) but still going strong with no chocolate, commercial cakes, biscuits, sweets etc. also on day 6 of no diet fizzy drinks which is amazing for me. Listening to some podcasts on UPF has really helped.

MsGoodenough · 06/01/2024 21:38

Hello can I join! House full of sugar and been bingeing. Starting day 1 tomorrow.

Longlazyday · 06/01/2024 21:40

Day 6. Hope to experience better sleep and energy.

Good luck MsGoodenough for day one today and well done to everyone. I found yesterday evening hard and was thinking about the chocolates that I know are leftover in the cupboard. Didn’t give in though. It is like a weird hungry/not hungry feeling that I hope will go away soon. It’s definitely worse in the afternoons. On a more positive note I got petrol earlier in the day and didn’t think much about the chocolate at the garage.

ShitIforgothelves · 07/01/2024 08:54

I think for me I've told my family I'm doing sugar free January and so that's making me have to stick to it!

Can I join? Monday will be day one for me. There was so much in the house that I felt wasteful not having it 🤦🏼‍♀️ everything is gone now though. Aiming to be healthier all round as I'm feeling miserable and it's all food related. Need to get walking and swimming and eating better.

ShitIforgothelves · 07/01/2024 11:05

Welcome!

Hey everyone, day 3 for me, getting a bit easier but still finding it hard. I have 2 stone to lose, and I also have inflammation, so hoping cutting sugar helps me to combat both.

MyBoysHaveDogsNames · 07/01/2024 20:44

I've had a hot chocolate drink and a handful of raisins. But much better than the pastries I would usually have had from the bakery. And the random bits of chocolate and probably a pudding because it's Sunday. So success!

Sleeping better too.

Tiredanddistracted · 08/01/2024 22:28

Just checking in, for accountabilities sake. Still going strong, 8 days in. I feel like I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop...

RunningAndSinging · 09/01/2024 06:46

A whole week done - really pleased to be sticking with it despite temptations at every turn. I think the cravings have subsided a bit now. I have lost 1.2kg or just over 2.5lb which I am happy about.

ShitIforgothelves · 09/01/2024 20:53

I've fallen! Just ate some chocolate. Now feel rather sick.

I get how it must feel but you can do it! A blip is just a blip!

ShitIforgothelves · 09/01/2024 21:11

Thank you. Quite interesting that it's made me feel so sick.
