Lots of norovirus going round. I'd probably delay until you're over it x

I've been up since 4am throwing up. I don't get it at all, 6 days after my last 0.25 shot, haven't been sick at all up to now. Why?
Very hesitant to inject tomorrow.

So hard to know what's the jab and what's a bug. I had a terrible headache after my shot a few weeks ago, very lethargic and felt really nauseous. Turned out to be covid and I was fine after the next jab.

Vassie · 10/12/2023 11:35

Injected for the first time yesterday. Don’t feel any different at all. Could quite easily eat breakfast this morning but haven't. Is this normal?

Helene2019 · 10/12/2023 11:58

Week 6 weigh in: start BMI 32.7. current BMI 30.9. I finally broke past 31 BMI, weight loss has been a lot slower than the first few weeks but I am still loosing. i've noticed over the last 6 weeks that when I had a takeaway with something high fat or fried I have felt really sick so now that is the deterrent to completely avoid these foods! Normally hubby and I would have a weekly takeaway, but now it's only every 2-3 weeks.

EC22 · 10/12/2023 13:10

I take my 3rd 0.25 tomorrow.
i haven’t really had any side effects.
i have only felt too full to eat once.
I haven’t lost much weight, 3lb. I have had 2x Xmas nights out with drinking so that’s probably why. It’s not the best time of year to start but I have to start sometime.
ive no more nights out so hoping to be more strict the next few weeks. Due to go up a dose on Xmas day.

Hi, welcome to the gang! Have you taken your first dose yet?

I took my first dose yesterday and am trying to stick to SW diet at the same time. Hopeful!

troppibambini6 · 10/12/2023 22:40

Hi everyone just checking in. I did my fourth 0.25 on weds and I'm definitely ready to move up.
Loads of socialising which obviously involves drink and food.
Total loss for the four weeks is 8lbs which im happy with given the time of year.
One thing I've noticed are hangovers are ten times worse on wegovy 🙈

EweCee · 10/12/2023 23:10

Just took my 2nd 1mg injection. The first week on the 1mg I had mild nausea all week but wore off yesterday, hopefully won’t have it again this week.

5ft 7inch
starting weight (9 wks ago):
104.9kg/ 16.5 stone
current weight:
91kg/14.3 stone

2 stone to go! (Ideally 3, but I’d be very happy to just get down another 2!)

Unfortunately no-one has noticed/hasn’t said anything 😔 but my work trousers are too baggy now and I just slipped on a pair of previously too small trousers and a swimsuit that were too small and they fit and look great!

Tailfeather · 10/12/2023 23:15

@EweCee That's amazing!!! We started at the same time. I was 17 stone and am hoping to hit 16 at my weigh in in the morning. Very jealous you're in the 14s! But I always lose weight slowly (but can put it on SO QUICKLY!!!) I'm sticking to a 2nd pen of 0.5. Will go up to 1mg in the new year. Maybe your bigger clothes are hiding the 'new you'! Can you see it in your face? I didn't have a double chin as such, but I definitely feel my face is more defined.

AhBiscuits · 11/12/2023 05:50

Well done @EweCee , that is an amazing loss. You'll reach your target in no time.

I'm feeling better today and I'm going to inject 0.5. If I have good suppression though I'm going to stick there.

221BBakerSt · 11/12/2023 07:19

@EweCee fabulous, well done you!!

Well, I had ordered Zoe Nutrition ages ago and it arrived…so 4am this morning I had to have their breakfast cookies (am on odd shifts at work at mo)…worse side effects since starting Wegovy. Horrible headache, heartburn, burps, incredibly loud gurgling. I have to fast till 8am then have two more cookies - think that’ll be it on the eating front today!

AhBiscuits · 11/12/2023 09:25

4 weeks today that I've been on it so I've just redone my measurements and photos. There is a noticeable (to me) difference. I've lost 8cm off my waist. I think I was quite bloated and full of junk at the start. It's been mostly good with a few wobbles and rough days, the worst one this weekend and that was possibly a bug. Two weeks until Christmas, would be nice to get to a stone off by then.

Starting Wegovy this week
221BBakerSt · 11/12/2023 12:17

@AhBiscuits you're doing really well!

One plus point about the Zoe test cookies is that they’ve cleared me out, which is good. I’m glad I stuck to 0.25, it’s still definitely giving me appetite suppression.

AnneLarsen · 11/12/2023 12:56

I thought about Zoe but wasn't sure if the results would be accurate when on Wegovy. For example I usually have blood sugar crashes after certain foods (like porridge) but the Wegovy keeps it fairly stable. So if I were to do the Zoe tests now, I'd get a good idea of my body's responses whilst on this drug, but I'm pretty certain the results would be useless when I'm not on it.

Does anyone know if this is correct or am I way off the mark?

EC22 · 11/12/2023 17:05

The 0.25 hasn’t given me much appetite suppression at all, which is disappointing.

FiveCows · 11/12/2023 18:28

@AnneLarsen i have had similar issues with blood sugar ups and downs that have been completely fixed by Wegovy.

I’ve lost about 9lbs, I can’t really notice, but today two people in the space of an hour complimented me on my weight loss. So it must be showing!

AnneLarsen · 11/12/2023 19:33

Oh well done @FiveCows

The stable blood sugar is amazing isn’t it? I realise how most (slim) people feel now. I get hungry but I’m not ravenous and shaky any more. When I used to feel like that I’d eat almost anything just to get it to go away, and it would take a while to ‘work’ so I’d eat too much. It’s like magic.

Crazymadchickenlady · 11/12/2023 19:45

Eaten far too much today. Always seem to give in to the snacking on the last day before the next injection. Going up to 0.5 tomorrow.

EatingTillIDie · 11/12/2023 20:57

I ate a few too many biscuits today. Having a mildly bad day, always want snacks. I feel full to bursting after some pasta for dinner. Blergh! Not suite sure how to stop myself eating at these times. Last week I was able to control the noise again by Wednesday.

NoMoreCheddar · 11/12/2023 21:02

Hello all.

I started yesterday with Wegovy 0.25.
I have put off starting for ages as I have big questions over what happens when we stop semaglutide. But I have given in. I lost three stone on my own through calorie counting, but then I have had a huge flare up of arthritis in my knees. I got put on two new meds that have both caused weight gain and I put a stone of that back on.😕

I have to get weight off to help my arthritis pain as it's awful, another three stone at least. I took my first jab yesterday morning, felt nothing, in fact I mindlessly ate a few chocolate biscuits last night! This morning however I woke up feeling nauseous and with a thumping headache. I have only eaten a 1000 calories today, and I don't fancy my usual nighttime snack. I was so worried it wouldn't work for me, but I think maybe it is!

Any tips for the headache? I made sure I had good protein today, and I have been drinking an electrolyte drink too. Does it go away after a few days? Paracetamol hasn't touched it.

Superlambaanana · 11/12/2023 21:06

@Crazymadchickenlady are you going straight from 0.25mg to 0.5? How long were you on 0.25? I'm toying with the idea of counting clicks to increase from 0.25mg to somewhere between 0.25 and 0.5. As a lot of people seem to get quite bad nausea when they increase. Or, maybe inject 0.25mg more frequently than every 7 days (like maybe every 5 days). Rather than jumping straight up to 0.5mg.

Crazymadchickenlady · 11/12/2023 22:02

@Superlambaanana yes I was planning on doing. I have done 4 weeks on 0.25 and last week I also injected the bit that was left in the pen (but that wasn’t much!). I’ve lost about 11 pounds in the four weeks so fairly happy with that.

Superlambaanana · 11/12/2023 22:05

@Crazymadchickenlady very good - let us know how you get on!

Gingerlygreen · 11/12/2023 23:06

@EweCee Wow you're getting great results.

I'm the same height and similar starting weight and would love to lose 2 stone in 9 weeks, so far I've lost 11lbs in my first month so I doubt I'll do as well as you.

Have you had many side effects?

I'm OK on the whole but get bad diarrhoea a couple of times a week, I'd rather than than constipation though because at least things are moving through me.

Shewhobecamethesun · 12/12/2023 07:35

Weigh In Update

Age: 39
Height 5'5"
SW: 13.1stone
CW: 12st8.8bs

0.25mg
Week 1: -4lbs
Week 2: -0.5lbs
Week 3: -2lbs
Week 4: -1lb

0.5mg
Week 5: -0.5lbs
Week 6: +2.5lbs

Okay, so I have gained 2.5lbs this week which is quite a shock. Now according to Dr Google, this means I have overeaten but a shocking 8750 calories this week. Have I done that? No way! That's probably my entire calorie intake for the next, never mind eaten on top of my daily 2000 or whatever maintenance is meant to be.
However this week has been the worst for side effects. Starting on Wednesday with really bad nausea in the morning, and slightly milder nausea on Thursday. But then on Thursday the lower back pain began. it felt like a really bad trapped nerve in my lower back that left me in constant pain unable to move properly. So I have spent the majority of the last week in bed or on my sofa, making very slow, deliberate movements. I actually thought this might be the result of being very constipated (I mean, it is possible) so I've using laxatives to try and clear any blockage (sorry tmi!), along with some very strong painkillers from the doctor. I don't know what it was but today has been the first day in almost a week that ive been able to bend down and put my own shoes on. I'm due the next dose today but I've decided I'm not going to take it yet. I think I will leave it until the weekend to let my body recover.
So back to the 2.5lb gain - I've been pretty bed/sofa bound for the last 6 days so there has certainly been not much physical activity going on and maybe a little more snacking then normal, but I wouldn't say to that extent at all so I'm not going to get too upset, just as long as next week I have a massive loss.
