Thanks both, I'm trying to think what it could be. I'd been fine before, just eating much smaller portions.

I can't keep being like this every weekend, my husband is going to get suspicious!

Circa1840 · 14/06/2023 08:30

So just checking in.
4 months in and I have hit the 2stone mark this morning.
Absolutely over the moon. I am on 1mg now, switched to MyJuniper to just make sure I get sent the pen each month. The extra cost is helping me keep on track I think. I did waste a good month i think along the line. But slow and steady, I have always just plateaued, never put on.
Well done everyone, I follow you all but just don't get the time to post/reply. Sorry its not working so some. I seem to be one of the lucky ones and have never been sick. I don't really try and eat proper meals though. More of a picker.

Very well done Circa1840, I'm stuck on 19lbs and have been for a while now. I veer between 19lbs off and 20lbs off, it's very frustrating but I know the issue is I'm having too many calories. I'm doing small meals but haven't really given up wine or diet coke and I need to, I know ..

Up your water for a few days and see if that breaks the plateau, I always find that if I have a couple of weeks staying the same then make a concerted effort to drink at minimum 1lt of water a day I get back on track.

The wine is an issue but the Diet Coke isn’t so I’d allow yourself that vice!

I’m 4 months in and 2st 10lb down. Absolutely over the moon, not much more to go! I’ve tried to add more steps and water. I tend to have a biggish loss one week (2lb+) then the following week I’ll either stay the same or lose 1lb.

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 14/06/2023 17:47

Evening all, haven't had chance to check in for a bit. I'm now 3months in and 30lb down. Really happy with the losses and very minimal side effects now. Trying to keep my protein up and my steps up for the most part these days!

kkr168 · 14/06/2023 23:25

Wow these losses are amazing, I'm 9 weeks in tomorrow & have currently lost 13lb. I cant really complain because I have put in hardly any effort, to much going on at the moment, hoping to finally get my 1 stone loss this week.

Twilightstarbright · 15/06/2023 13:29

@kkr168 I’m very similar, 15.8lb down in 9 weeks. I tell myself we are all different and a loss is a loss.

Another interesting article about Semaglutide and attitudes. It's a NY Times piece that I've put through archive.ph to remove the firewall.

Interesting @mumwheresmyribena. Hopefully attitudes will change but I’m not holding my breath.

Todays weight 209lb

Total loss 23lb

Margaritawithlime · 17/06/2023 07:07

I’m increasingly frustrated. I’m onto my third week of 0.5 and have lost nothing. Not a bean. No side effects. Nothing.
Are any of you people who didn’t lose til 1mg? I’m holding out hope that it will finally kick in then or else face the fact I’m what? Broken? How can this not work?! It was my last hope.

Are you tracking your food intake/calories?

What daily calorie deficit do you have daily?

If you don't know, even a rough figure it's unlikely you will lose weight.

Margaritawithlime · 17/06/2023 07:50

I’m tracking in MFP which has me set to 1540 cals a day. I try to watch my carb intake - potatoes better than bread etc. and I’d say 90-95% of what I eat is cooked from scratch.
ive reached out to juniper and they’re setting me a personalised something or other. Just feeling despondent.

Have you listened to the Zoe Nutrition podcast on this? Some people are more sensitive to it, so start losing immediately but others (like you?) need a larger dose before it kicks in.

Margaritawithlime · 17/06/2023 08:25

No- I’ll go listen. Fingers crossed it kicks in at 1mg or it will have been an expensive error.

How tall are you? 1540 is pretty close to my maintenance without some serious exercise, so I would probably lose extremely slowly if I was following that daily. Can you add in a day or two a week of lower calorie (maybe an extreme 800 just to test?) and see if you start losing?

Margaritawithlime · 17/06/2023 09:17

I’m 5 7. Extremely overweight (im
ashamed to post but let’s just say there’s an 8 in it… and it isn’t the first number)
but yes. I can do that. I’ve fasted before and it worked well with work for me

Peridot1 · 17/06/2023 09:29

@LovelaceBiggWither - I know just what she means! My rings are loser for sure and I will probably have to have them resized I think. And necklaces sit better - especially short ones.

@Margaritawithlime - as others have said track calories for a bit. Plus prioritise protein. Drink lots of water. I’m stuck at the moment and will be doing the same.

As @TheWayOfTheWorld says listen to the Zoe Podcast. They had people in the trials of the medication who took a while to respond. But also bear in mind it may not work for everyone.

The Zoe Podcast is here

ZOE Podcast: Can Ozempic (Semaglutide) Solve Weight Loss?

Jonathan speaks to Dr. Robert Kushner, the lead investigator of a huge recent trial, about whether semaglutide really is a game-changing treatment for obesity.

Yes I am fitting rings now that were too small before but honestly any significant weightloss is going to mean ring size might change.

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 17/06/2023 19:39

Hi all, just back from a girls holiday and checking in.
I'm 3 months in and about 34lbs down, haven't weighed in yet.
I'm 50 and still on 0.5 since I can't get hold of 1mg anywhere. My maintenance kcal intake is v low, around 1100/day, I'm also short. I put my success down to extreme calorie deficit, most days under 700 kcal, which isn't always easy but without these injections would have been impossible.
I wasn't able to been so controlled this holiday (didn't want to either!) but was moderate. So will report back on numbers. But side effects have been really manageable (walking really helps with the horrible constipation as well as, I suspect, eating slightly richer foods.)
Wine is my Achilles heel but I've not fancied it as much.
I'm also slightly in shock about my changing shape and looks. Didn't hate myself in group photos. Felt energetic and comfortable in my skin. And... I'm no longer invisible to the opposite sex, it seems. 😜😮

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 17/06/2023 19:42

P.S: Just before the holiday I was BMI 29-30, dress size 16 (for the first time in 10 years!)

This seems too high. 1200-1400 seems to be where most people are aiming for.

I find I cannot lose weight until I get serious about sticking to 1200. Sometimes over, sometimes under but that’s the goal.
