I'm with juniper and my order of 1mg was meant to be dispatched yesterday so if course it's not and I'm being given a 0.5mg. I have a 1mg pen in the fridge but I think I am only going to go up to 0.75mg due to the shortages then a month on the 0.5 then I think I'll have to stop unless I can source it but it's not looking good. Do you think this sounds ok or do you think I should do a month on 0.25mg.

With my 1mg pen I was going to count 54 clicks which I think will give me five does of 0.75mg to eek it out a bit longer. I think I can also get one 0.25mg out of the pen too according the the videos I've been watching.

What are other folk planning to do re the shortages. I know it's a global issue but it's very unsettling isn't it.

I've got 9-10kg left to lose and one 1mg pen which will be my last. I'm planning to take eight 0.5mg doses and be really disciplined: no lapses and Slimfast shakes twice a day as long as I can bear it. I'm also ordering Berberine and hoping it does something...

SarahC50 · 19/07/2023 12:44

@leilani83 that sounds like a good plan. My weight loss has really stalled on the 0.5mg I've got another stone to lose. Like you I'm really going to up my effort. Can I ask who you are ordering the berberine from please and is it expensive. Looking for options post ozempic too. Good luck with your plan x

lanawinters · 19/07/2023 12:56

@Inkpotlover
I am losing weight - and am down to a 0.25 dose of Ozempic weekly. I have half a stone to lose to be at my ideal weight, which will mean a total 3 stone loss since January. I have averaged around 7lb a month loss.
The Berberine contributes to a complete (and hopefully permanent) overhaul of my lifestyle. I no longer drink alcohol (or any liquid calories really) and avoid all UPF if I can. Also have started taking Athletic Greens which is a complete vitamin/ probiotic supplement. I feel pretty amazing at the moment - a bit of a change from a year ago where I was very overweight, peri-menopausal, anxious and feeling pretty hopeless. 😊

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 19/07/2023 13:08

I am currently alternating weeks between 0.66 mg and 1 mg and have two 1mg doses left from that (finished the smaller doses now) which I will take over the next two weeks. I am also halfway through a four week push with my eating so will harness the 1mg doses for that.

Then I should have a 1mg and a 0.25 mg pen left so 6mg in total. I think I will do 0.75mg a week for 8 weeks with those. Perhaps consider spreading the doses out? See if I can continue with my better eating habits through that time and then it looks like it will be diet alone. Can’t say I feel optimistic about stopping at all.

i haven’t lost very fast or really very much considering it has nearly been a year. I am around 1st 4lb down and my BMI is hovering around 30. What has been amazing is the maintaining on the whole even when I haven’t been trying so hard with the food. I do feel a bit like I have wasted an opportunity while I had access to this drug in not working harder on my diet all the time but I suspect that over the same period, without the drug, I would not have lost so much when I was trying and then gained quickly when I wasn’t so it has done great things for me and I really don’t want to stop taking it.

Cantonet · 19/07/2023 13:44

I've read the average weight loss with Berberine is 4 pounds. Even using it over the course of the year. I know it has positive effects on blood sugars & other advantages but it's definitely not a magic weight loss pill. So why is everyone here treating it as though it is?

I was going to order it from Amazon. There are lots of options. It's not expensive at all, £17.99 for 90 pills which I think last you a month at least.

For the other posters, I'm not expecting it to be a miracle weight loss pill. My plan is to lose the weight on Ozempic and lifestyle and then try the Berberine hoping it may help me keep the weight off together with a healthy lifestyle.

SarahC50 · 19/07/2023 18:05

@leilani83 brilliant thanks I'll have a look, it all helps
@Cantonet not treating it like a miracle weight loss pill just considering options post ozempic. With supply drying up if it helps in any way I'm giving it a go, fine if it's not for you but leave the rest of us to try what suits us individually x

Sure that's fine. I was just curious why everyone is moving onto Berberine after Ozempic. When there are other options such as Orlistat & Mysimba that are known to be more effective.

lanawinters · 19/07/2023 18:53

@Cantonet
Not sure about others but for me it's to phase out medication in favour of good lifestyle choices.

I guess I don't know about them. Having just had a quick look Mysimba appears to be almost as expensive as Ozempic so I'll give that a miss. Orlistat seems to work out at about £30 a month. Does it work though?

It’s working quite well for me at keeping me on the straight & narrow. It’s nothing like Ozemic though.
For one thing you can’t eat much fat at all but you can eat carbs so that’s different. And the weight loss is very slow compared to the typical Ozempic experience. It is much cheaper though.

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 19/07/2023 22:10

I bit the bullet and ordered 2 x 0.25 pens from QuickMeds yesterday. I'm not ready to stop now, still have 2 stone or roughly 12 kg to lose and am on 0.75 (4 months in) with 2 weeks left of that dose.
Will think carefully about how to taper this off since it't likely supplies are coming to a halt.
It's been life changing for me and I want to make the most of the investment and my own efforts so far.
Thank you for all the support, advice and sensible discussions here.

SwimmingFree · 20/07/2023 06:54

Ozempic has given me my life back. I have just returned from a family holiday where, for the first time in my children's lives, I've been able to participate in everything. I've been on a zip wire, down water slides and done a high ropes course, all with a weight limit I was over when I started oz. Not just that though it's silenced my obsession with food, where I think about it all the time and give in to overwhelming cravings. Ive eaten like a 'normal' person on my holiday,

I still have about 5 stone to lose to be in a healthy bmi and I'm really scared about the oz shortages. I've stayed with juniper so been lucky to get 1ml but I didn't lose barely anything on 0.25 or 0.5.

Im so scared of putting the weight back on and losing the control oz has given me.

UsernameFail · 20/07/2023 08:50

@MotherofTerriers did Bury Healthcare confirm your order?

That's such an encouraging story - well done!

I think some suppliers may still have 1mg available but it's just expensive. I checked Quick Weds last night and they appeared to have 1mg around 6pm but it's £300. If money is no object you could probably get it from them.

Good luck!

leilani83 · 20/07/2023 09:08

Meds 😂

Movinghouseatlast · 20/07/2023 09:20

I tried Berbarine before Ozempic and it had absolutely no impact on me whatsoever!

MotherofTerriers · 20/07/2023 09:26

Not yet @UsernameFail
I ordered and paid on Tuesday, have an email saying its on hold until they have confirmed payment
I would have expected a medical questionnaire by now. I'll give it until this afternoon then email them
But twitchy because payment is by bank transfer not credit card, but reviews look decent so fingers crossed.
I'll update here as they do seem to have stock in reasonably regularly

I ordered and paid on Monday and no response - I've already emailed them.

I suspect a gazillion people have ordered the same 2 pens and they're going to sit on our money for a pretty while before taking their sweet time to refund it...

UsernameFail · 20/07/2023 09:36

Thank you @TheWayOfTheWorld and @MotherofTerriers

Secretboringsister · 20/07/2023 09:51

This is what happened to me. Although they took my money on the 18th for the 1mg pen and DPD says “awaiting parcel”.

im waiting to hear back from juniper customer support. I need a pen or a refund. Poor show from them.

Sugarplumfury · 20/07/2023 09:59

Quick Meds are now out of stock of 1mg pens. Just tried to order.

MotherofTerriers · 20/07/2023 10:03

I've just emailed Bury.
