@FatAgainItsLettuceTime thank for the info and link

SarahC50 · 02/07/2023 20:21

@mumwheresmyribena that's so encouraging to read. I'm week 14 and took an extra four weeks at 0.5, I have been nervous about moving up to 1mg but what you have said is fab and encouraging.
My loss has really stalled lots of sts and half pounds here and there. I am aware of coasting too I think I get bored and the crap food creeps in.
It's brilliant you are responding to the 1mg so well
@CornforthWhite it is a worry of mine too. Obviously in the UK most of us are paying for it privately and it's not tenable to stay on it for life. I hope to cut down slowly to 0.25mg weekly then fortnightly then monthly. I don't know what my prescriber, juniper will advise. I know the hunger and cravings will come back but I'm hoping after six months plus I'll be used to smaller portions and eating better. I plan on being very vigilant so I can check myself quickly and cut back if the weight starts going on again. X

@RichTeaCheddars Also interested to see if anyone's found any less painful ones, I ordered some carepoint ones that really hurt.
The ones that come with the pen don't hurt at all.

RichTeaCheddars · 02/07/2023 21:24

Sorry to hear yours hurt too, but glad it wasn't just me! Hopefully someone will be able to help.

mumwheresmyribena · 02/07/2023 22:01

@kkr168 @RichTeaCheddars These are the ones I bought. Dearer than some but were convenient for me to order. They seem fine to me. Set Lance Diabetic Insulin Pen... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08KSN6C31?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

mumwheresmyribena · 02/07/2023 22:08

@CornforthWhite Not really. I'm asthmatic and I totally accept I'll need an inhaler for the rest of my life.
Actually, although if I need Ozempic ongoing, that's fine, I'm using my time on it to try and reset my weight and health habits. 9-12 months, which is how long I'll need it to t get to my target weight, means I can hopefully build some good habits, certainly being a lower weight means that I'm much more active than I was even 4 months ago and I'm certainly eating at a more sustainable level for my weight. I've already decided that when I reach my target, I'll wean myself off ozempic but if necessary I'd be happy to restart it.

Peridot1 · 03/07/2023 08:13

Interesting article again @mumwheresmyribena.

I am definitely in a plateau stage. Partly having been on Ozempic for so long I think and partly just lack of motivation. I’ll keep going though. Have reduced from 1.5 back down to 1mg this week as worried about the shortages.

TheWayOfTheWorld · 03/07/2023 09:24

I thought I was in a plateau until I started getting the sulphur burps last night and d&v again 😭

Last couple of weeks on 0.5 (doses 3 and 4) has been fine, but I've been feeling hungrier.

Was away this weekend after dose 5 of 0.5 and I ate a teeny bit more (but not loads and didn't drink).

Cue all the side effects coming back with a vengeance last night/this morning. Lesson learned. Although scratching my head as to what caused it, as really didn't loads or have lots of goodies.

Backtoblack1 · 03/07/2023 12:44

Just started week 3 on 1mg. Have lost 12.5lb so far over 11 weeks. However, since increasing to 1mg, I am starting to feel very hungry. WTAF?! Why is this happening and will this pass? Desperate to lose another 1.5lb but just can’t shift it

JinroStrawbs · 03/07/2023 13:09

For those looking for stock, I seem to have just been able to order from Daily Chemist (unless they cancel!), but it's very much not cheap, was £299 for a 1mg pen😓

Will suck it up for this one but after that it's going to be unsustainable for me

MotherofTerriers · 03/07/2023 13:26

Thank you so much, I've just ordered too - so unless they cancel that will give me a pen in reserve as it were
Hopefully it will be approved and go through - I can't pay £300 a month every month but hopefully quickmeds will get stock back in soon

Kfjsjdbd · 03/07/2023 15:23

Thanks for the info. I’m not going for the £299 just yet!

User17865 · 03/07/2023 18:02

I nearly ordered from daily chemist a few weeks ago but trust pilot reviews are terrible. I hope they don’t mess you around.

MotherofTerriers · 03/07/2023 18:30

Oh dear, I've just looked and the reviews are indeed awful. I wonder if I can cancel. They haven't charged my credit card yet

Andrasa · 03/07/2023 18:34

Anyone see any stock at quickmeds tonight? Noticed the site crashed from 6-6.30 but didn’t see any in stock, wonder if it’s just because everyone knows it’s the cheapest/only? place to get it now.

Cantonet · 03/07/2023 18:52

I've just ordered Ozempic from daily chemist.com & the trust pilot reviews are good. There is another company called daily chemist.co.uk where the reviews are bad. But it's not the same company. However it's costing an absolute fortune 🤦🏼‍♀️

Cantonet · 03/07/2023 18:59

Umm...
I now see it's a bit of a mixed picture🤦🏼‍♀️
Mixed reviews but the trust pilot reviews are generally good so I'm puzzled.

MotherofTerriers · 03/07/2023 19:18

My order hasn't been approved yet, but hopefully it will be and it will turn up
I booked a call with Manual to see if they will send 1mg instead of starting again on 0.25, I'll let you know how that goes.
Still regularly checking quickmeds but nothing yet

tregunamekoidestrecorumsatisdee · 03/07/2023 19:27

I got my Ozempic a few months ago from Daily Chemist and it arrived it's a legit site. I will say though that it stayed at 'order processing' or something like that for about 3 days and I thought I'd been scammed because they weren't replying to emails so I rang them and they sent me out an email with a questionnaire on the call, within 20 mins of filling that out the status changed to 'shipment pending' and I got it two days later. So it might be worth calling them @Cantonet I only got it from there as a one off when the shortages got bad as it's too expensive

MotherofTerriers · 03/07/2023 19:44

Thanks that' reassuring

MotherofTerriers · 04/07/2023 08:32

Quick update, I had a call from Manual, they won't provide a 1mg pen unless you are an existing customer so would need to start again at 0.25.
Bit annoying that places are prioritising previous customers and quickmeds aren't!

mumwheresmyribena · 04/07/2023 10:58

I had the revelation last night that the 0.25 and the 0.5 pens each actually hold the same amount - enough for 4 x 0.5 doses. So therefore if economical I could buy 2 x 0.25 pens and get 4 x 1mg doses from them. Rightangled has 0.25 pens at £140 each so a months supply of enough ozempic for 4 x 1mg doses is cheaper than most 1mg pens atm. Remember, 36 clicks for 0.5 or 72 for 1mg.

I'm bloody annoyed at Quickmeds not prioritising existing customers too. They were my pharmacy of choice since I started on Ozempic. if I have a choice I won't buy from them again.

No I don't thats right.
Each pen holds 4 doses.

So the 0.5 pen holds 2mg (0.5 *4)
And the 0.25 holds 1mg

So you would need four 0.25 pens and two 0.5 pens for the equivalent of one 1mg pen.

I think that makes sense. Happy to be corrected if wrong

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 04/07/2023 12:26

No the 0.25 mg pen does have 8 doses of 0.25mg or 2 mg in total.

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 04/07/2023 12:29

I think Quickmeds are fine with their first come first served system and reasonable pricing compared to some others.

Daily Chemist has been ok ish with me - one slow delivery after I phoned them and one refunded order after a week or two’s wait. Not a scam but not my first choice for the future either.
