I've been a bit daft and let myself talk myself out of the injections. I went away and missed 2 doses of 0.5. When I got home I did 0.25mg but then chickened out of going back up to 0.5mg so I've left it 2 weeks again.

Total plonker.

I have a fresh 0.5 pen in the fridge waiting for me.

Do I do 0.25 or do I go straight back in at 0.5?

If I do 0.25 I'll end up using my spare extra needles and I hate them, they hurt unlike the ones supplied. If I do 0.5 I'm worried I'll get the nausea I got when I first started 0.5 although I have anti sickness meds I can take short term...

MuMuMuuuum · 01/07/2023 07:26

Some amazing results here, well done everyone!

I completed week 20 this morning and have weighed in, now 24lbs down. I'm so pleased! In the last few weeks I've really seen a difference in myself. I've been buying new clothes which is lovely and actually looking back at myself in the mirror I can see I'm looking well.

I'm still on 0.75mg and will stay there for as long as I'm still losing to get the most out my pens.

mathis2006 · 01/07/2023 08:08

It is that time again need to order a new pen to carry on with maintenance, can't find any anywhere. It I'd so bad now ....
Any advice?

mumwheresmyribena · 01/07/2023 09:43

I too have just completed my 20th week. I'm 14.5kg down despite talking a 6 week "coasting along" in the middle when I didn't watch my food as carefully and didn't exercise much, I'm delighted with the progress. I do still have a long way to go though, I'm not half way there yet. I'm now back to March '21 weight and can see July '20 (before I injured me leg) and beyond becoming a reality.

I upped my injection to 1mg a few weeks ago and this last couple of weeks have been a bit of a revelation even by Ozempic standards, the weight loss has accelerated from 0.5 to 1kg/week, my stamina has increased and my fitness level has jumped unexpectedly too according to my Withing watch. Could be Ozempic or could just be because I'm much more consistent due to losing the weight.
I'm diligently trying on the clothes in my 'one day' pile and starting to make some headway.

I have 2 injections left in my current pen and a full pen in reserve, starting to get nervous about sourcing more. I think I'll jump as soon as I find some somewhere regardless of cost - yes I do know I'm lucky to be able to say that. I've always bought from Quickmeds and am quite annoyed that they don't seem to prioritise previous customers. I've tried them quite often recently (after 6) and not been lucky and have never once had an email from them to say they have stock.

Kfjsjdbd · 01/07/2023 11:42

If anyone finds any 1mg stock anywhere can you jump on and update (once you’ve sorted yourself obviously!)

Kfjsjdbd · 01/07/2023 12:09

I just panic bought 1mg from Manual for £239. More than I wanted to pay but means I’m not panicking as much about getting hold of it.

Twelvestars · 01/07/2023 12:27

I know you’re all far along your journeys.

I’ve taken my first 0.25 injection this morning and I’m already feeling the effects. I don’t know if it’s me but I had a smaller lunch than usual and I feel soooo full already. I even left some food in the plate!

MotherofTerriers · 01/07/2023 13:05

I'm panicking a bit too - quickmeds have been good so far but no signs of stock. I'm diabetic and relying on it to control blood sugar as well as lose weight

mathis2006 · 01/07/2023 17:11

Quickmeds has 0.5mg in stock.
I am going to hold out, can't face spending £179 for 4 weeks, when with a 1mg pen it lasts me 8 weeks. Hoping I find a 1mg in the next 2 weeks.

MotherofTerriers · 01/07/2023 17:14

Them getting 0.5 in is hopefully a good sign
Maybe stocks come in at the beginning of each month
Trouble is, a pen doesn't quite last a month...

nebulae · 01/07/2023 17:27

I've just ordered a 0.5mg pen from quickmeds in case I can't get anything else. If they get any 1mg pens in the next couple of days I can maybe cancel this order. We'll see.

AlwaysGreen · 01/07/2023 19:27

I started exactly a month ago and did my 4th injection last night. I've lost 3kg so far, so 750g per week. It's a good enough progress for me - my BMI is now around 29 (was just over 30 when I started). Next week I'll do first 0.5mg, so far I've been lucky that not too many side effects: little nausea, maybe some tiredness (but lot going on life) and few times stomach issues (but IBS so could that too!).

MotherofTerriers · 01/07/2023 19:56

@Kfjsjdbd , how did you get Manual to offer 1mg? I'm on 1mg now, filled the forms in and it said I was approved but offered 0.25

TheGoodEnoughWife · 01/07/2023 20:03

Manual have given me 0.5mg for the last three refills. Say they don't have 1mg. I have emailed them to see if they can offer 1mg now and if not I shall cancel.

I have got 1mg from MyJuniper and Quickmeds.

MotherofTerriers · 01/07/2023 20:17

Thanks, I think I'll keep trying Quickmeds - and trying not to panic!

Kfjsjdbd · 01/07/2023 21:04

@MotherofTerriers oh I didn’t realise it would be 0.5mg. Right will cancel that order then and go back to the drawing board. Thanks for the heads up!

Twilightstarbright · 01/07/2023 21:12

Manual sent me 1mg this week but it’s £250 a month.

I’m 21lb down and fitting into clothes I’ve not worn in years. I was distracted in a zoom meeting because I could see my collarbones.

WeightInLine · 02/07/2023 09:07

Amazing progress everyone.

I am very much in a plateau at the moment. I am on week 8 of 0.25 because I am going on holiday and don’t want to deal with any new symptoms from titration up to 0.5. I haven’t lost anything in the last week and the hunger is back. I have managed to keep up the exercise though so that’s something.

I also wonder, because Ozempic is hormone based, is it interacting with my periods and HRT? Not sure but I do seem to be bleeding more this month. Maybe it’s unrelated.

Kfjsjdbd · 02/07/2023 11:02

In the end Manual only offered me 0.25mg so cancelled that. Juniper aren’t open to new customers. I’ve got 3 weeks worth of my current pen left and it’s not looking good to get another.

MotherofTerriers · 02/07/2023 11:08

Fingers crossed. hopefully someone will get stock in soon, if I see any I'll message here

Firefinch · 02/07/2023 18:36

I'm on a plateau as well, it's quite disappointing. Same weight as last two weeks despite being in calorie deficit every day. I'm about ten weeks on ozempic and currently on 0.5 dose. Just going to stick with it and hope for a loss next week.
Have been reading up about weight loss plateau today after my disappointing weigh in this morning, and reading up around 'set point theory' which offers an understandable explanation of plateauing. Unfortunately there is no easy answer except just keep on going. Sigh.

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 02/07/2023 18:55

Often a change will break a plateau, so stick to calorie limit but mix up the macros eating more protein or less protein and more carbs, whichever is different to your new normal. Also make sure you are getting your water, it really is important.

CornforthWhite · 02/07/2023 19:53

That is a good article, but how does it not make you panic when it says you will need to take this medication or a similar one for life?
I am trying to stay at the lowest dose possible in the hope that eventually I will be able to reduce my dose and stop the medication. Will this ever be possible?

RichTeaCheddars · 02/07/2023 20:01

The extra needles lots of us bought to use up extra doses in pens.... Can you link me to some that didn't hurt please?
The ones I got are thicker and longer although I bought the ones with the same numbers.
