I'm just curious what others would think my likely weight is from this picture. I'm 5ft 2 for reference.

11st 5lbs,

SpidersAreShitheads · 28/05/2023 21:19

To everyone who is still guessing......OP has already given her weight several pages back.....

OP, I was going to guess 16-17 stone but I was a bit worried about being rude. I know you're heavy but what I would say is that you carry the weight in a "nice" way - so your tummy isn't huge, and you just look lovely and curvy all over rather than an unattractive apple shape (which is what I am, annoyingly!)

I don't think the scales matter too much if I'm being honest. I think being toned, flexible and being comfortable in your clothes are much better indicators of weight and fitness. Muscle weighs more than fat, fluid retention can be misleading etc etc.

PurpleFlower1983 · 28/05/2023 21:19

Around 15st.

LancashireSquirrel · 28/05/2023 21:23

I would have said 16/17 stone.

GoodChat · 28/05/2023 21:24

Kyse23 · 28/05/2023 20:21

I would have said 15 stone
I'm 5ft 10 and 17 stone currently

Your legs and waist are much more defined

denimdonut · 28/05/2023 21:26

I’ve read your updates, so know the answer. But I wouldn’t have put you at that weight. I’m quite a bit taller so it was hard for my brain to compute, but I’d have put you at about 13.5 stone.

Kyse23 · 28/05/2023 21:26

@GoodChat I am 8 inches taller (thankful for height!)
Vary between a 14-18 size wise

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 28/05/2023 21:28

I thought 12 stone too. You have a lovely shape.

Mumof4alsoabonus · 28/05/2023 21:42

I’m similar height and weight to you and I’m way way bigger than you and size 20. I was reading people saying 15/16 stone thinking they don’t realise how different it is when you are short. I would have said around 12. At 8 stone I carried weight. Every pound counts when you are little over 5ft. I wish I looked like you.

Chocolatesandroses · 28/05/2023 21:45

14-15st

Rainyday4321 · 28/05/2023 21:47

You carry it well and it’s a nice outfit.

However - that doesn’t matter- you are significantly and unhealthily overweight.

Which you know….

Riverlee · 28/05/2023 21:52

I’ve read your update and am surprised by it - I would have put you a few stone lighter considering your height.

I'm 16st 13 and bmi 42.5 on this picture. I don't feel as big as my weight suggests, but I wasn't sure if it was just me. I've lost weight since, but I keep looking and thinking do I really look almost 17st? Anyway, thanks for answering. Maybe I'm not going mad.

I’m going to be harsh. You look it.

ThisMustBeMyDream · 28/05/2023 21:57

For those concerned about my weight, please don't be. As I say, I'm already under a tier 3 specialist weight management and have medication to help me lose weight. I see a psychologist next week which will be excellent. I am well aware of a healthy weight. Unfortunately I have spent 20 years losing and gaining the same weight. This is the first time I've had something actually helpful to keep me healthy. The dietician told me I was a unicorn in the weight loss world because she couldn't quite believe I have no health problems. They thought I was too big to exercise. I'm not at all! It's all been over the phone so far, and when I went in for weighing I could see the surprise in their eyes as I don't think I was what they expected.

This is a bonkers thread. The OP is clearly very overweight but some posters are falling over themselves to say she has a lovely shape.

No wonder we have such a problem with obesity in society.

herewego9 · 28/05/2023 22:00

Absolutely @Clementinesucks -totally bizarre

Newmum110 · 28/05/2023 22:00

I would have guessed 16 stone as I am same weight, same shape. People are always surprised by my weight. I guess some people carry it better than others.
PS what jeans are you wearing? They are very nice.

I think they mean the weight distribution of my shape as opposed to saying yeah fat looks great.

They are April jeans from matalan in petite. I think they are a few years old although I think they still do the same type, but probably in different styles.

Guesses of 10-11-12 stone are ridiculous , and perhaps are indicative of our delusion about obesity and weight.

This ^^

The thread is peak Mumsnet batshittery.

TiggeryBear · 28/05/2023 22:05

You're about my height & I'd reckon we look a similar size. I usually wear a 14-16
I weigh around 13st - 13.5st
(although I think my weight is far more unevenly distributed).

Exercising doesn’t mean you aren’t morbidly obese.

Sittingonasale · 28/05/2023 22:08

12 -13 stone.

CheekNerveGallAudacityandGumption · 28/05/2023 22:09

16 stone

Anskl · 28/05/2023 22:10

You certainly look lighter than your actual weight in that picture - 14.5 stone, perhaps. You have a comparatively slender waist so can get away with wearing jeans whereas I carry all my weight on my middle and look terrible in them at any weight over 11 stone.
