⭐️LOSE IT! April 2023 Countdown to Summer⭐️

Summer countdown starts here! The holidays are right around the corner so it’s time to embrace a fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to lose and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st. I had a blip a couple of years ago when my thyroid went wonky but now back on track.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Feel free to share your own links, tips & recipes!

Oh and I'm officially peri-menopausal woohoo! AF is now 40 days late and every day is a day closer to waving goodbye to daily pain from endometriosis so bring it on!

Bikechic · 31/05/2023 11:32

I've stayed the same since last week making my weight loss this month 3.5lbs. I'm happy that I'm building sustainable habits, but would have liked an extra half pound gone. Can't have everything. Every little helps. Onwards and downwards.

TheRealHousewife · 31/05/2023 11:51

@Doorydoor Sending a hug ❤️

@Bikechic Thats a fabulous result! Well done 👏👏👏

@AutisticLegoLover I love veggie burgers. Yours sound very tasty! The recipes I’ve tried in the past include some form of bean such as black bean. But then again I love all beans & legumes 😬

Hi
I stood on the scales yesterday and forgot to post!
CW: 77.30kg
SW: 78
At long last I've lost a few grams. I am so happy - it's been difficult not celebrating by buying chocolate! 🤣

Ninjachicken · 31/05/2023 11:59

Hello everyone
WOW of 60.8 kgs for me. That takes me into the healthy bmi range so I am very pleased with that. I weighed less a couple of days ago but I have gone massively off piste and drank too much wine and eaten way too much. Back on plan today and I really want to get under 60 kgs so hoping it will go well. I really need to stay in the right mindset and it can be hard to stay there. I do feel so much better when I eat better so I am trying to focus on that
lovely to see you @ginsparkles and sending lots of motivation your way

@Weatherwax13 sorry you are having MIL issues, that must be tough especially when you have travelled such a long way. Are they in France or UK? Guessing UK due to the pub dinner!

@TheRealHousewife your food sounds great and I think I am going to do a similar thing until I have lunch out on Sunday for Mother’s Day

@ImALittlePea Hope your mood improves and you carry on making good choices. I have really struggled with this the last few days and my mood and the scales are both reflecting it

well done @AutisticLegoLover the scales keep on moving down! You must be feeling great !

congratulations to everyone who has lost this week and a virtual hug to anyone not where they want to be
have a good day !

Of course it does @TheRealHousewife just sending well wishes out to all ❤️ well done on your overall loss for the month!

Sending hugs @Doorydoor ❤️

Sounds delish @AutisticLegoLover I hope they turn out well! Must try to make some soon. Glad your bloods were ok too.

Well done @Bikechic that's a great loss for the month 🎉

A few grams is still a loss @Karatema to yay to that!

@Ninjachicken great milestone hit! Well done. I'm sure you'll hit the next target in no time. We all go off plan, it's just life.

Speaking of which - another day without my normal 'on plan' lunch. No real reason tbh as my mood is brighter today, just that we had one flatbread remaining from the weekend. So I had that with houmous, cheddar, and loads of salad. And a small bowl of crisps. Honestly, don't know why I had those too - I didn't need them. It's weird how I always ignore my willpower/self sabotage during the school holidays. Need to try and have a sensible dinner but not the easiest when I'm just cooking early for me, and I have a 5+ hour shift tonight. Currently got zero inspiration 😬

AutisticLegoLover · 31/05/2023 14:39

I'm looking at soups with a good source of iron. I've never had low iron in my life-not even during 3 pregnancies where my diet was limited to pizza, Pepsi, orange juice, crisps and poppadoms, mango chutney and sweets. So lettuce and cauliflower is one I'm going to make along with spinach and sweetcorn. We love soup and I'm hoping to expand our repertoire.

Great to see some losses and milestones for the end of the month😃 keep going everyone, you'll get there!

Well done @Ninjachicken, that is fantastic!
@Doorydoor I’m so sorry to hear your week has been awful. Sending you very best wishes for the coming days. I hope things get better for you ❤️

Citygirlrurallife · 04/06/2023 10:41

Hello all - I dropped off because we had a week in Normandy last week with too much food and drink. No idea what the damage is so just back on it as I have 4 weeks until I’m on a beach in Ischia with DH and 2 couples who are our best friends - and also happen to be gay men who work out and look after their bodies (one is a spin instructor and one is an actor, the other two just look after themselves) and I CANNOT let the side down by being a wobbly pasty woman

DH and I did 30 day shred yesterday and today - old school but we’ve done it before and it does work if it’s stuck to. I’m going to do OMD if I know I have a big meal planned (yesterday was a BBQ at friends with so much food and pudding etc for example, and going for a 3 course dinner with my my tomorrow) and otherwise sticking to 18:4 just to get myself into shape for the holiday and hopefully by then will be happy with progress and can continue in a more sustainable way…..also no alcohol until then because that’s my nemesis!!!

very inspiring seeing all your numbers going down

@Ninjachicken congrats on getting into healthy BMI range - that must feel fantastic!

@AutisticLegoLover I had my iron tested last year as the doctor assumed my levels would be low due to my vegan diet but they were above average! Can we not think it’s the amount of leafy greens and broccoli I eat….am also a big fan of soup. Congrats (?!) on entering peri menopause?! I just turned 40 so am a little bit off but am aware everyone says it’s so easy to pile on weight and so hard to loose it during menopause it’s def a motivation for me to get to the side I’m sustainably happy with and solidify good habits before it starts to kick in

@Karatema congrats on loosing those grams - every little shift!!!

@Bikechic same to you - not gaining is a win! If I’m at least the same weight this Wednesday as I was when I left I’ll be happy!

Superdashmama · 04/06/2023 17:15

Congrats on all the losses 🙌

I have bought a couple of pairs of trousers as my old ones were quite baggy. Happy to have trousers that fit but it’s also highlighting my round belly more! 😢 I seem to have more strength, am more toned, my arms and legs are a lot slimmer but I still have this round belly!!! Any tips on shifting the belly fat are welcome - one thing I’m trying is to do sets of boat poses (moving from high to low boat pose to tone upper and lower abs).

I’m cooking spicy braised chicken thighs with spinach and potatoes for dinner.
