How about that for an arbitrary goal?

This is what it’s going to look like:

26/4 Day 0: 11st6
1/5 Day 5: 11st5
6/5 Day 10: 11st4
11/5 Day 15: 11st3
16/5 Day 20: 11st2
21/5 Day 25: 11st1
26/5 Day 30: 11st0
31/5 Day 35: 10st13

I will be strength training twice a week and running twice a week (somewhere around week 5/6 of couch to 5k). And getting on top of my blood sugar so I am not snacky, with some of the ideas from the Glucose Revolution book.

I need the accountability of a thread I have actually started. I’m well aware I may end up talking to myself, but it’d be lovely to have some pals if this feels like a feasible goal to anyone else 😊

I do strength with a PT 2x a week and gym 3 other days. Every day I walk around 10000 steps and am massively watching my calories now so let's do this!

I like the sound of this! I'll weigh myself later and come up with a goal figure. I've got about 60 days till a holiday and shifting 7lbs over the next month would be amazing!

I go on holiday 5 weeks yesterday so got 34 days!

I was 11.5 today, down from 12 at the start of the year but not really been taking it very seriously and decided to go for it for the full month of May - going to do the walk a mile a day challenge and the 5-2.

If I could even see the scales at 10 stone something before I go on holiday I’d be delighted as it’s been a while, maybe 6 years since I’ve been under 11 stone.

I remember when I was younger my target used to be half a stone in a week! Bit more realistic these days 😂

Oh actually I came to the weight loss chat to ask about loosing 7lb - so you guys could really help me! Smile
Currently 10 stone (which I am well aware is not huge - but it's probably the heaviest i've ever been)
Would like to loose the 1/2 stone - have a holiday booked in July so have some time. I don't really want to go on slim fast or weightwatchers or anything like that really but I am peri-menopausal so I'm finding the weight doesn't shift off as easily as it used to.
I also have a painful shoulder condition at the moment which makes vigorous exercise pretty difficult. (Frozen Shoulder)

Does anyone have any advice what "plan" i can follow or am i better off simply calorie counting and cutting food down in general.

Please be kind - my first post in the weightloss area.

Going well thanks @Amdone123 , trying not to pay too much attention to the scales in between as they went down a lb in one day then up a lb and a quarter the next. Hopefully will see some firmer progress by day 5 though…

I will be going for a run first thing tomorrow. I’ve written it here so I have to do it 😁

@OlderandwiserMaybe , hi, you're probably best calorie counting. You can type in your present weight and goal etc, in Google.....how many calories do I need to lose a pound a week, 2lb a week or stay the same, etc.
I hear you regarding the peri menopause, its a bugger. ❤️

Can I join? I started a week ago and have lost 4lbs in a week.

April 23rd 89.9kg

April 27th. 88.2
April 28th. 88.0
April 29th 87.8kg

So really trying not to snack between meals apart from fruit. Maybe the odd bag of wotsits. But definitely not the chocolate, etc I used to have. Have stopped drinking Diet Coke which I think gave me sugar cravings and drinking water instead and tea. I’m meaning to go and buy some peppermint teabags.

eating lots of chicken and salad. Different types of salad. So last night was quinoa and pomegranate salad and a chicken breast.

I’ve always exercised a lot, with a few spin classes a week so not finding exercise a problem at all.

Today might be a bad day, I’m meeting friends for a pub lunch!

Pub lunch wasn’t great as expected, had a “light bites” (so smaller portion) of chicken breast burger and chips. Had Eton Mess for pudding which was very small compared to the cakes, etc on offer. Did an 18 mile hilly bike ride this morning so hopefully burnt some of it off in advance!

Just reporting in. My first full day went well, I've downloaded My Fitness Pal (or My Fatness Nag as we call it in out house!) to make me more accountable. Had a few calories left over at the end of the day, even managed to sneak in a gin and slimline tonic, but once again reminded at how calorie laden so many go-to food and snacks are. Stocked up on salad and veggies for the next few days.
Hope everyone else is doing ok.

I'm starting today, and need some accountability! I'll stick with your weigh dates and targets as I am 11st 5lb today. I'm 5ft6 and would ideally like to get back down to 10st 3lb. My fitness pal with a calorie target of 1400, 3 weight sessions and a couple of runs. No wine or crisps which are always my downfall...

30/4 Day 1: 11st5
6/5 Day 7: 11st4
11/5 Day 12: 11st3
16/5 Day 17: 11st2
21/5 Day 22: 11st1
26/5 Day 27: 11st0
31/5 Day 32: 10st13

Thank for asking @Amdone123 it was bad but tbh not worse than I thought, so that is something! 12st 2lbs this morning. So my goals would be as follows:

30-4 Day 0 - 12st 2lbs
5-5 Day 5 - 12st 1lb
10-5 Day 10 - 12st 0lb
15-5 Day 15 - 11st 13lbs
20-5 Day 20 - 11st 12lbs
25-5 Day 25 - 11st 11lbs
30-5 Day 30 - 11st 10lbs
4-6 Day 35 - 11st 9lbs

And then I have another 15 days to the holiday so it might get me to 11st 6lbs, which would be brilliant! Actually, getting to - and consistently staying at - below 12 is a good psychological thing for me.

@Happyface120 I weighed in at 11st5 today as well, and I am just about the same height as you (if I stand up straight and stretch a bit 😁). Good to have you on the same schedule.

Been to the gym and done weights stuff today. It’s closed tomorrow though so may have to brave the outdoors if I want to get a run in.
