Spring is right around the corner so it’s time to embrace a fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to lose and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st. I had a blip a couple of years ago when my thyroid went wonky but now back on track.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Feel free to share your own links, tips & recipes

I'm in!

ginsparkles · 28/02/2023 10:38

Checking in for a good month. I have one month before heading off to Italy for a week. Going to make it a good month. And want to be well below 11 and a half stone. 4lbs.

Good luck all Smile

Cloudberries123 · 28/02/2023 13:49

Checking in ready for tomorrow.

Started off over 100kg in September, have slowly lost 5kg and hovering around the 95kg mark. Frustratingly slow at times but rather it was slow and stayed off forever 💪🏻

Busy life with a young baby but committed to being a healthy mum. Dealing with some food issues too so working through those.

Love the support and no judgment on this thread 🙏🏻

WolfMother326 · 28/02/2023 13:57

Thanks for this new thread ✨️

I've already found the previous thread helpful. I've been exercising a little more (gone on 3 runs in 4 days) and also cutting out excess biscuits and chocolate, reaching for healthy snacks.

I want to make March a healthy month. Have my birthday at the end and a big trip in April, so would like to feel my best or at least like I'm improving my diet and wellness.

NatM15588 · 28/02/2023 16:13

Hi I have 3 stone to lose after losing 3 already. Im doing a low calorie diet having my main meal at lunch and 2 smaller meals at breakfast/dinner. I aim to get my 10k steps at least a day and do a mix of weights and yoga 3 nights a week. Will be back on Saturday to update this weeks loss!!

ImALittlePea · 28/02/2023 16:36

Checking in! Aiming for a 2lb loss in the next four weeks.. here we go 😊

Fara22 · 28/02/2023 18:45

Checking in for the next round! Hi everyone!

Frustratingly I think I started and ended February at the same weight - I just went up in the middle and then came back down again. Hopefully a more productive March!

Looking forward to springing slightly more lightly into spring.

smokeyrabbit · 28/02/2023 20:20

Hello! I have 1st 4 lbs left to go of my target... reallly want to get there before summer xx

Weatherwax13 · 28/02/2023 21:34

takingcareofme2023 · 28/02/2023 21:40

Hello again, been very busy/stressy February and I've drifted away in Feb...but back for March. Weight quite static...but enjoying getting out for runs. 10k Fri, 5k Sat parkrun, 7.5k today. Slow, but out there. Really need to refocus on eating more healthily...again...xx

Bikechic · 28/02/2023 22:06

Hi. I’m new. I’ve lost 4 lbs in Feb. I’m hoping to keep going. I’d been half heartedly trying for ages but now seem to have found the motivation from somewhere. I want to lose another stone and a half.

greenspaces4peace · 01/03/2023 01:42

i'm home :)

Allthegoodnamestakken · 01/03/2023 05:53

Hello all, just checking in. Afraid I have completely lost all mojo with weight loss. In fact, I have lost all mojo in general and finding that just getting through the days is exhausting so I haven't been able to bring myself to check and reply to the threads. Hoping to be back on track soon.

SingaporeSlinky · 01/03/2023 06:17

Checking in for the new month. Thanks as always to @TheRealHousewife

Welcome to the new joiners.

I’m up early for National Offer Day - secondary school place emails came out and now can’t get back to sleep. Will post WOW and new targets later once I’ve stepped on the scales.

@greenspaces4peace hope you had a nice trip, despite your reluctance to go (was that just weather related?). I’ll be in Toronto soon as part of my big trip over Easter, bit worried about the cold now.

@Allthegoodnamestakken hope you’re ok. Maybe concentrating on good, nutritious food will help you feel a bit more in control?

ginsparkles · 01/03/2023 06:35

@SingaporeSlinky .... still waiting on ours! Been up most of the night. It's like torture !

SingaporeSlinky · 01/03/2023 06:38

@ginsparkles my email was 4.40am. Have you tried logging in?

ginsparkles · 01/03/2023 06:39

@SingaporeSlinky been on refresh all night. Confused Sooooo annoying!

SingaporeSlinky · 01/03/2023 06:41

@ginsparkles in applications, not messages? Should be there already

ginsparkles · 01/03/2023 06:42

@SingaporeSlinky yep, I have been up dating the applications bit, and it's still showing the the Lea have received the application. It seems out council haven't updated anything yet. Argh!

AutisticLegoLover · 01/03/2023 06:57

Morning all and welcome to March! It's lovely that it is lighter when I wake up now. Welcome to the new posters, I hope you find the thread to be what you need.

First WOW of the month is a very surprising 58.7kg! I'm finally at my much coveted 9st 3lb!

SW: 68kg last summer
CW: 58.7kg
GW 55kg

I have the day off today so less walking. I was over 11 miles by bedtime yesterday. I've got a shopping delivery coming this morning and on the way back from school I'm going to stock up on various veg and stuff locally as it's cheaper. Then I'm making a huge batch of marinara sauce, a huge batch of mashed potatoes for my mum, and some soup of some as yet undecided vegetables.

B: porridge as usual
L: yogurt and berries possibly
D: maybe fajitas (with wedges for the children)

Have a good day and good luck to anyone WOWing.

AutisticLegoLover · 01/03/2023 06:58

Hope you get the choices you want with the schools!

slytherinabout · 01/03/2023 07:23

How is it March already?!

Well done @AutisticLegoLover

Good luck to all those waiting for school places 🤞

SW: 75.1 kg
CW: 72.9 kg
TW: 60 kg

Just under 2 kg lost this week. Still enjoying exercise and getting used to smaller portions!

WolfMother326 · 01/03/2023 07:55

Good morning. WOW was a bit surprising for me, I weighed in at 66.4. I was expecting closer to 68 as I was around there two weeks ago (67.8). I have been putting in a big effort but it still seems like a big loss for two weeks. Anyway, I'm motivated to keep trying!

Its good we only weigh once a week as it will keep me from getting obsessive. I also will avoid counting calories and just focus on balance and healthy food and exercising regularly as that's worked for me in the past and kept me in a good mindset about weight loss.

TheRealHousewife · 01/03/2023 08:02

Good Morning Everyone

Welcome to the new members and existing members alike. If you commit to being more mindful of what you're eating and move more (if possible) you will lose weight by this time next month 👍

Sharing Marchs Action for Happiness calendar. We all know our mental health is woven into our weight/loss/gain and sense of well-being. Get in the right head space & prioritise decent sleep it'll all help you reach your goals.

Don't forget:-

  • Eat enough protein
  • Include a wide variety of fruit, veg, legumes, spices etc (try for 30 different ones, it's doable) a week
  • Meal plan.
  • Stay hydrated
  • Get good deep sleep
  • Manage stress
  • Exercise including yoga, strength based and cardio
  • Don't ban anything but be mindful of everything
  • Try to not drink calories (alcohol)
  • Reduce sugars
  • Remain realistic and don't give up. Slow progress is better than no progress.

I'll not be around much as away but will try my best. Enjoy yourselves ❤️
