As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fasting and eat twice a day.

My problem is that I rarely like anything the shops have! Ideally I'd dress like it's 1941. It's lots of plain black cord skirts & colour block jumpers for me at this time of year

@TheRealHousewife Gosh that's rough. Re: step counts it's feast or famine for me - I'm either madly dashing about on school runs (I got 2 school places at opposite ends of my city & I'm in a further opposite direction) or if the ex is covering that then I'm working from home in a very sedentary fashion. Plus I don't have my phone with me when I walk around at home. So my recorded steps go from 18,000 one day to 312 the next 😀

I can't share with our mutual friend @8stone13 as I don't know if she knows and we haven't spoken since she moved so we haven't fallen out but not friends as such.

I did know what you meant @buzzofthebumblebee. Sometimes having someone else to support helps as it stops me worrying about DD 24/7 but I am finding it difficult and worrying as well as exhausting. Her child now has covid so that's another worry. They have all had it recently now except the husband. I wish he would get it then he'd know how awful it can be.

I'm sorry you are feeling drained @buzz. You can talk about anything on here. I'd be lost without it and struggle if I couldn't share my troubles and get advice.

I do apologise though if I am bringing things down Sad.

DH had a reply to his message to our daughter today to say he had collected something for her but she hasn't read my message I sent a couple of hours ago yet [worried].

I'm going to try and go in the treadmill tomorrow..

Thanks @TheRealHousewife No snacking today thankfully, and going to do a Les mills class shortly. Tomorrow heralds a new week / we'll see what the scales bring. Thankfully not much planned this weekend so should be able to get back on track.

I'm ravenous today. I had my usual breakfast - lemon curd on toast & a small hot chocolate - then burnt up a load of calories walking & got home starving. Couldn't eat for a while for various reasons & when I did I felt slightly nauseous afterwards which is highly unusual. I had some chicken curry & rice, then some ok loads of chocolate. I've been getting hungrier every since & just had homemade crumble & custard & I'm still not full. I feel like the hungry caterpillar!

My kids have eaten loads & are asking for more & my gf has just messaged to say she's super hungry so maybe there's something going on 🤔

steps...well a friend dragged me out for a 4.6 mile walk yesterday and my hips are speaking to me loud and clear. so i did a shorter version today (obviously if i'm sore it's from disuse ;) ).

i increased my apple watch settings so lets see if i can keep the weight loss rolling.

I've had the worst nights sleep I have had in ages and has pain most of the night but I am going to try the treadmill as I need the mental health benefits so I will try but if it hurts too much I'll stop.

I have had pain in my gum and have been worried my replacement tooth was going to fall out again. I discovered last night I have an ulcer in my gum. Does anyone have any advice for getting rid of it please? I do have a dentist appointment today but thought I'd ask anyway. I'm a bit apprehensive as haven't been for more than two years for obvious reasons.

Had a stupid meeting first thing in the morning and missed my official weight in window. I try to keep the results consistent by weighing about the same time pre breakfast. So I'll record the official result next week. But the unofficial result was being over start weight. However, I feel very bloated so I wonder if there is a little liquid.

Gyms are open again. I've enjoyed going there once I get going but starting again is a pain in the butt. It's also so damn slippery so going out for walks is not tempting.

Today's weigh in was up 1/4lb from last week, which wasn't too bad given the week I'd had. Hoping for a better week on the scales this week, thankfully a quiet weekend beckons!

@SunshineCake1 not getting the zzzzs in suck. Sorry I don’t know what to suggest about ulcer on gum, but probably indicative of being run down. Hope you feel somewhat better soon! Pleased to read you’ve had a response from DD.

I’m a big romantic at heart and I’m planning a valentines meal. It’s going to be Champagne to start, then steak, green beans, pepper & mushroom sauce. Followed by a heart shape Red Velvet cake too ❤️ I am going to shave off some calories each day from today to compensate 😬. Is anyone else celebrating it?

Spoon @Crazzzycat ?!! Hmm, if you are a KK double I can see how that might be hard ; ) Funnily enough I read article the other day about buying jeans for diff body shapes. They were big on skinny flares. My legs too short & chunky for them - not flattering. Khloe Kardashian now has her own denim business - I guess you're not alone !

1/2lb up today to 11 2.5, but I'll take that given my weekend too ; )

Glad you are feeling better @TheRealHousewife. It is weird when I looked last night the ulcer was white and now it isn't there anymore, I can just see a circle where it was. It doesn't hurt when I touch it either.

DH and I have always done valentines and bought cards and gifts and had a nice meal then a couple of years ago he seemed surprised I gave him cards and gifts. He said we never did it. I was most surprised and rather upset and when he went out later he rectified the situation. We have decided this year to just get nice food as it is so close to my birthday and we just don't want more stuff.

I was all excited when weighing as thought I had lost weight. If I go by Monday I have, if I go by last Wednesday I Have Not. Grr.

I did do the treadmill. Only 2.1km and it was sore but I'm glad I did it.

I expected a worse result given what I ate yesterday! I went to bed still a bit hungry, very odd 🤨 Will have to see what today brings, appetite-wise 🤔

Bluntly - no, won't be celebrating. My DH never done the romance thing, valentines or anniversary, or even making me feel special. Even Mothers Day I used to have to go out mid afternoon to buy my own flowers. Disappointing every year & on every occasion - but it's just him. Always been the same!

Glad you are feeling refreshed. And pleased to hear your DD is out doing sport Sunshine. That is REALLY good news. Small baby steps.

My DH is equally unromantic @buzzofthebumblebee. I’m not entirely sure how we ever got married, seeing as he never proposed 🤔 In his defence though, he’s much better at the “showing you care every day” stuff than I am, so that makes up for the lack of grand gestures.

76.1 kg on the scales this morning. My eye is so off the ball when it comes to weightloss, that I’m not even sure if that’s a gain or a loss...I know it’s not where I want to be though. I’m pondering cutting my calories for a week or two, as I really want to make it to 75 kg this month. But I think that might just make me feel more hungry, so not sure if that is the way to go.

I maintained this week. No surprise as I've been sick and barely left the sofa in days. Tried my best to keep an eye on my food but definitely snacked more than I usually would. Feeling quite sluggish now.

Trying to get back to it today and hopefully get some energy back. I'll go for a walk at lunch. Lunch is a bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon, and dinner is chilli and rice.

Pregnant .@8stone13 ?

I'm back from the dentist. Mine has left but the new one was lovely. I have an infection so need some work done. Will cost about £2300. Really angry with previous dentist as he didn't do what I thought he has, didn't explain things and I really wish I hadn't done it. Thankfully DH isn't phased by the bill and I hope it will all go well.

Still in pain when I move sideways. I either need to stay in bed for at least a few days to do nothing so I can heal - which will not be good for me mentally or weight wise or do a bit of exercise and hope it doesn't cause too many issues. I have a headache as well so I am fed up.

Heard from DD. Didn't go too well but I'm not surprised by her response. Disappointed in her doctor and university staff though.

Crikey that's quite a dental bill 😬 I save regularly to pay for any dental treatment but it probs it amounts to £250 saved across the year. £2300 seems a huge amount. I hope you are feeling ok. It seems to be one thing after another for you 😕

£2300? Oooooft. I've cursed genetically on the dental front and I'm always forking out for something or other, but that is properly spendy!

No valentines celebrations here. It's always soon after my birthday which we normally do something for so we can never really be bothered. And actually, I've just realised DH will be away with work!

@Crazzzycat do you get plenty of protein? Are you drinking the water? Little tweaks can help enormously. I find it all easier if I follow those 2 principles. Also since I’ve increased my protein intake I’m getting new hair growth and not losing as I was.
