A Warm Welcome to New and existing Members alike! Fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fasting and eat twice a day.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

PS @SunshineCake1 really sorry to hear of your troubles. @ginsparkles hope you're feeling better. Maintaining or damage limitation would both be a win!

campingqueen121 · 16/02/2022 21:32

Well done @TheRealHousewife @Crazzzycat @SingaporeSlinky @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo @RebeccaNoodlesebecca, and anyone I may have missed, on your losses. I've put on 0.2lb since last Wednesday and 1.2 following a sneaky weekend weigh in so a bit disappointed but still approximately 10lb down from starting weight and I never dreamed I'd have lost that so quickly so not going to dwell on it plus I've lost 0.5-1.5" off different areas of my body so perhaps it's muscle. Which reminds me I must get new scales.

@buzzofthebumblebee I think I want to lose another 7lb but I also want to tone massively so who knows what weight I'll be happy at, perhaps the weight I am now but with a different body shape.

Planning on doing my wk 5 run 3 tomorrow as don't want to get blown away Friday, won't be having a rest day in between so hope I manage it.

Keep up the good efforts everyone.

Recycledblonde · 17/02/2022 08:58

I'm late again with posting, sorry. I only put on a pound after my pig out week which included a 19 course tasting menu.Grin
Rowing machine is up and running, I'm starting slowly, up to 800m in 5 minutes now plus my 50 squats a day. I do the first 25 outside while supervising the dogs peeing and pooing, The glamour of my life is too much.
Not looking forward to my 40+ mile drive to work tomorrow morning. Wouldn't it be nice if the wind blew away extra weight? Smile

8stone13 · 17/02/2022 10:54

Day 47 - Thurs 17th Feb - 9s 2 & 3/4lb
BMI 21.3
BF 23.7

That's a better result - nice to see a 2 again! I ate too much chocolate again yesterday, it was another busy day & I couldn't settle to sleep until 2am, so I'm going to have to watch the sugar crashes again today... 🤨

@Recycledblonde Your life sounds as glamorous as mine. We're just like Audrey Hepburn & Elizabeth Taylor really 😉 😀

TheRealHousewife · 17/02/2022 10:56

@RebeccaNoodles well done on your loss! That every week will get you to goal before the end of the year :)

Overall you've done great @campingqueen121. I wish weight loss was linear but unfortunately it isn't, frustrating as that is.

Meal 1 - Spicy Chicken soup.
Meal 2 - Salmon and Vegetable tray bake.
Tea, black coffee, water. Pecans.

Crazzzycat · 17/02/2022 13:09

Afternoon all! Not much to report here on the weightloss front, but I’ve been analysing the data I collected in Nutracheck and am a little surprised. On the positive side, I’m eating more protein and fewer carbs than I thought I did. On the not so positive side, I’m eating more saturated fat and salt than I should. The next step will be reducing those 🤔

It’s odd though. I’m vegetarian, cook almost everything from scratch, don’t eat a huge amount of dairy and never add salt to my food...I guess my love for peanut butter is to blame here, as well as my daily (very small) serving of cheese. Healthy eating is hard! 😣

Foreverlexicon · 17/02/2022 17:16

@ImALittlePea
www.sainsburysmagazine.co.uk/recipes/mains/aubergine-and-halloumi-curry
It’s this one. I haven’t actually made it yet so can’t vouch for it but it’s got halloumi so can’t be bad!

Didn’t swim or have curry in the end last night; friend of mine had a rubbish day at work so went to see her instead and had pasta. I think it was more or less in my calories though. I stayed over and she ordered us McDonald’s for breakfast but I wasn’t hungry for much lunch and have shepherds pie with root veg mash and broccoli for dinner so still in my calories.

No exercise today bar a long dog walk with a friend. Still very conflicted on my job situation; she’s been told there’s potential for a bit more flexibility in the department we both want to transfer over to. So plan to have a chat with someone about that tomorrow but I only have 10 days before I have to hand my notice in. I’d probably stay if they can offer more flexibility…I swear this is one of the hardest decisions I’ve made in my life and it’s getting me very down. Ridiculous how something can seem so simple on paper yet be so difficult in reality!

SunshineCake1 · 17/02/2022 18:01

I think you should stay where you are @Foreverlexicon.

Foreverlexicon · 17/02/2022 18:21

@SunshineCake1 I’ll pm you - I can’t seem to go into it without writing an essay and I don’t want to derail the thread too much!

SunshineCake1 · 17/02/2022 18:24

Ok. Go ahead Smile.

buzzofthebumblebee · 17/02/2022 18:38

Hello everyone. Sedentary day at desk, about to go on 1st walk out with the dog.

Dinner = salmon, wild/long/red rice mix for the boys, sm amount for me, and lots roasted veggies. Yum.

buzzofthebumblebee · 17/02/2022 18:39

for those who may be concerned - DH took dog out earlier ; )

SunshineCake1 · 17/02/2022 18:40

Also, my post was to help @Foreverlexicon use her gut feeling for anyone thinking I was being nonsensical.

ginsparkles · 17/02/2022 19:03

Today hasn't been great food wise. I'm still so tired. I have no idea when this wiped out feeling will go.

Thanks @TheRealHousewife ... I'm mostly better, just very tired, spacey and I have a headache almost all the time! Sure it will get better eventually!

fallfallfall · 17/02/2022 19:25

Decent weigh in this am, certainly encouraging!
Leftovers for supper; pasta dish and salmon
Stay safe and strong people.

TheRealHousewife · 17/02/2022 20:53

Perhaps gargling with tcp or salt water might ease your sore mouth @SunshineCake1.

@ginsparkles it must be draining to have continual headaches, you have my sympathy!

@fallfallfall sounds positive 👍👏

Stay safe peeps! Early night for me 😴

Graphista · 18/02/2022 01:31

I just wanted to wave hello

Incredibly stressed and much craziness going on here which has food stuff way out of whack too I've piled back on most of what I lost SadAngry (at myself)

Hopefully on downward turn at this point

Plan is whatever I weigh I will rejoin you guys end mar/apr when things SHOULD hopefully be on a more even keel for me and I can get back into a better routine again.

I'm so cross with myself (but also the lack of healthy options when eating out!) but I am confident...especially with you guys helping...that I can get back on track, LOSE IT! (Agajn) and this time KEEP it off!

I've not read the thread yet I will aim to do so over weekend to catch up with you all so apologies at the moment I've a banging head!

Take care all of you

fallfallfall · 18/02/2022 02:09

Hello @Graphista, planning is half the battle.

SunshineCake1 · 18/02/2022 07:40

Glad to see you back @Graphista. I was thinking about you yesterday.

I'm not too bad today thanks @TheRealHousewife and the pain in my mouth is 98% gone. Sadly the pain in my wrist is worse so I will put the point back on. Still waiting scan date Sad and pain there isn't getting any better and at times is worse. I keep forgetting to breathe too and when I do again it is quite frightening.

Not weighing for a while. I can't exercise and if I manage to fast the full 18-20 hours I am taking that as a win.

It's wet and very windy here today. Quite scared to be honest. Also, my children are in the red zones as well as us so worrying about them too. We don't need to go out apart from dog walk and dropping off DC3 around 5.30 but we will see if we can even do that. Stay safe everyone.

TheRealHousewife · 18/02/2022 08:54

Good Morning All

Blustery and weathery here 💨 🌧 ❄️ ⛅️ Really weird weather and when it bates for a second you can hear the birds.

Anyways … I had chocolate last night. Whole nut chocolate 🍫 Don’t regret a thing 😈.

@SunshineCake1 Try These Breathing exercises. Every hour. Should help. Set reminder on your phone ❤️

Menu
Meal 1 - Salmon salad
Meal 2 - Chilli & cauliflower rice.
Tea, black coffee, water. Walnuts.

Stay Safe!

ImALittlePea · 18/02/2022 08:57

Well as expected, a gain this week, but only 1lb which I'm actually not too unhappy with all things considered. It's been an enjoyable week with the kids and it's been nice just going with what I want when we've been out at cafes, cinema etc, but my mood is starting to drop now (whether this is diet, half term fatigue, or having missed my CBT this week because of having the kids - probably a bit of everything!) so it'll be good to get back to planning and tracking everything from next week.

Target for next week is to get that +1lb back off. If I can do any more then that'd be a bonus!

Thanks for the link @Foreverlexicon it sounds delish - was it? Unfortunately not something by husband would eat but have saved anyway.

Hope everyone stays safe on the storm and has a nice day/weekend 🙂

TheRealHousewife · 18/02/2022 08:59

Cross posted. @ImALittlePea sounds like a win considering. I think you’re right, the low mood could be an accumulation of everything. Here’s hoping you get into your normal routine next week when the children are back in school.
