Today's food was okayish. Went for a long walk during lunchtime 👍

poorpaws · 04/12/2021 08:38

Hi everyone

I’m just checking into see if you are all ok.

I’ve nothing much to report really. I’m doing ok with food as I know I’ll gain weight over Christmas so trying to do damage limitation before. I’m keeping up to 12,000 steps per day but it’s very cold out there every morning on the dog walks.

I’ve wrapped all my presents (except a couple I haven’t got round to buying). This afternoon I’m starting with the Christmas decorations and hoping I’m all done by Monday (probably wishful thinking). I have found that when I’m busy wrapping presents I don’t think about food so that’s a win.

Three weeks to the big day, we can all lose a few pounds in three weeks if we really try.

@Gennz18, oh it was lovely. Oxford Street isn't what it used to be, but I got some time to myself in Selfridges and on New Bond Street/Bond Street. Really got the sense it's Christmas time - which was completely lost last year. Covent Garden was really vibrant, full of the smells and sounds of Christmas and we had a lovely Chinese meal followed by a long walk around Trafalgar Square and then the South Bank (which hopefully burned off some of the Cals). Walked over Hungerford Bridge - always love the view of the city from there at night time.

Purlsandhooks · 05/12/2021 20:15

I will regret this I'm sure but would anyone out there join me on another superhuman week next week?!? It's early enough before xmas festivities to be possible for me, so I'm thinking one last good run at this weight loss shizz before the man in the red suit truly takes hold...

Gennz18 · 05/12/2021 20:48

Love that @gonelululemoncrazy!! I used to work on South Bank and would walk to work most days, past St Paul’s and across the Millennium Bridge … I used to pinch myself that that was my commute (no wonder I was effortlessly 65kgs compared to now driving kids everywhere). I remember my first day in London, walking along the Embankment and I just couldn’t believe my eyes that I was really there. I’d never been to London before I moved there from NZ, but it never occurred to me not to, moving to London was something everyone did.

It’s Monday morning here so I’ll start …
77.2kg/12 stone 2

Not a bad result considering pubs have reopened for the first time in 4 months and we had a long Sunday session yesterday. I confined myself to gin cocktails instead of wine or beer 😇 😂

poorpaws · 06/12/2021 07:50

SW: 12st 2.75
CW: 10st. 10.25
GW: 10st

I’ve lost 3.25 lbs this week but I did gain 2.25 last week. I did my own superhuman week cos I was so cross for gaining the week before.

@Purlsandhooks
I can’t do a superhuman week this week because I’ve almost just done one and I’ve got a few meals planned. Is starting next week too near Christmas? I can’t see that I can lose too much more before the big day but need to do as much as I can so that I can enjoy the festivities without gaining too much..

Good luck for the weigh-in everyone.

Morning everyone,

SW 13.5
CW 12.7
GW 11.0

Yippee - 2lb loss in a week which involved some Cake!

@poorpaws, sure I will regret this but count me in for superhuman week.

@Gennz18 - know how you feel about moving to the big smoke. I was 18 when I started Uni in London, and for the first couple of months (despite desperately trying to be cool) was literally walking around in a state of awe. Been living in London ever since - although now out in the suburbs with kids. I used to go for a runs in the morning before work along the Embankment - was a great start to the day!

gonelululemoncrazy · 06/12/2021 08:00

sorry meant to be at @Purlsandhooks on the superhuman week Blush

poorpaws · 06/12/2021 08:46

I’m so impressed with two of you starting the dreaded superhuman week so soon after the last one. I’ll do as well as I’m able this week but it won’t quite be superhuman, I will try though. @Bjarnum will be impressed.

Well done @Gennz18 you’ll soon be looking great in that swimsuit.

@gonelululemoncrazy I don’t know how to eat cake and still lose 2 lbs, fantastic result!

gonelululemoncrazy · 06/12/2021 09:38

@poorpaws, - I was very good Halo, it was only a very tiny piece of red velvet Cake.

Purlsandhooks · 06/12/2021 18:17

Well done to all those who had losses this week - some big results there!

@gonelululemoncrazy thanks for keeping me company in this lunacy. What's the plan? I've fallen off the workout wagon recently so I'll be picking that up again, and keeping to 1200cals a day.

CW 10st10
Xmas GW 10st6
UG 10st

It's all to play for!

poorpaws · 06/12/2021 18:22

@Purlsandhooks have you seen how close we are in weight and goal weight? Not Christmas goal weight cos 10st 6 is sooo difficult in the short time we have left. I’d be very happy with 10 st 9.

OP posts:
gonelululemoncrazy · 06/12/2021 18:52

@Purlsandhooks, feel a bit like Thelma and Louise, fingers crossed we don't end up going over a cliff! Xmas Smile

Daily exercise and keeping to 1200 cals a day seems like a plan to me!
CW 12.7
Xmas GW 12.2
UG 11.0

Purlsandhooks · 06/12/2021 19:03

Yes @poorpaws ! We're close in height from what I remember as well.
Haha @gonelululemoncrazy love that. I've just realised I have 2 days this week which might be difficult, xmas shopping with bf and a London trip as well. I promise I'll be good though!!

poorpaws · 06/12/2021 20:59

Superhuman - you also have to post daily, thems der rules.

OP posts:
Gennz18 · 07/12/2021 10:22

What does a superhuman weekly involve apart from posting daily? Sticking to your cals I suppose 😂 Will def give it a whirl.

I’ve been low carbing - I call it keto ish but I’m not that strict - and I must admit I notice a huge difference in hunger. I have 2 rashers of bacon, an egg, 1/4 avo and a couple of cherry tomatoes for breakfast at about 7 and then don’t feel hungry again until 1-1.30ish. Today I actually had a coconut milk flat white about 11 and didn’t eat again until I got home at 5.30 and had a wedge of blue cheese. Normally I’d have toast or something and be ravenous by 11, snack, then have a sandwich for lunch at 12, snack again at 2 - or skip breakfast and then graze all day. You really notice the fat keeping you full vs the carbs and it’s so much easier to stick to 1200 cals. I do love bread and potatoes though 😭

Purlsandhooks · 07/12/2021 15:29

Hello all! And in particular to my fellow superhuman(s!?) this week.
I was SO not feeling it this morning. I had one of those awfully vivid and anxiety ridden dreams that has leached into my waking mood.
However!! I parked that, did a HIIT video and do feel a bit better for it. Well I do now it's done anyway!!!!
@Gennz18 it's basically a week of extra effort, a real push. No excuses, as @poorpaws would say!!! Low carbs/keto is a good plan, as you say you don't have to go hungry. Personally it only seems to work for me if I exercise tonnes whilst at it and I haven't always got the time, or effort levels for that!!

poorpaws · 07/12/2021 17:51

Hi everyone and good luck to the Superhumans this week.

I look forward to hearing your progress Superhumans and sorry I can’t join you this week. I suspect there will be another superhuman effort at the beginning of January.

I’ve talked on here before about how I’ve messed with my metabolism through years of yo-yo dieting and if I want to slim now I can eat very little. Yesterday I upped my calories by one apple and a bowl of crunchy nut cornflakes, it resulted in a half pound gain overnight.

Today I have increased my calories more significantly so I’m expecting an even bigger gain

Anyway have a great week everyone and I’m now off to the supermarket to do my (hopefully meagre) shop.

It’s filthy weather here, hope it’s better where you are.

SW: 79.6kg/12 stone 7/174.5lbs
CW76.7kg/12 stone 1/169lbs
GW1: 76kg by Christmas Eve
UGW: 65kg/10 stone 3/143lbs

76.7 puts me within spitting distance of the first mini goal and into the 160s (as you can see I convert my weight into every possible measure to find any skerrit of progress). The first 3kgs are always the easiest though aren’t they? Motivation is high and lots of water weight. I’m trying to make the most of the summer and daylight here to keep me going - usually I just eat and drink my head off during December. Also have the added motivation of my party not to go completely crazy 😝 ver the next 5 weeks. Would love to be under 74 by then.

gonelululemoncrazy · 07/12/2021 18:58

Evening all, superhuman @gonelululemoncrazy reporting in!

Kept the cals down to 1100 today, but due to the absolutely horrendously foul weather here I couldn't go for a walk. Managed to do a 40min Kayla Itsines exercise routine. Going to use the tried and tested go to bed early trick to prevent unnecessary snacking..

Gennz18 · 08/12/2021 18:37

I tipped off my superhuman day 1 with a few gins and a piece of DS’ leftover birthday cake. Bloody great.

CW 76.7kg so at least it hasn’t shown up on the scales (yet)

professionalcockney · 08/12/2021 21:54

I'm here.
I'm drinking too much and eating too many crisps. 😳
What is superhuman week?

gonelululemoncrazy · 08/12/2021 22:42

Hi all, another day of feeling ultra hungry. Managed to stay just below 1200 cals, had a long walk at lunchtime and 40mins exercise in the evening. Trying not to take the effects of my extreme hunger out on the my two DSs!

@professionalcockney, its a week where you make an extra effort on keeping the cal intake down and exercise as much as you can, also you have to post everyday on your progress (dems the rules as poorpaws says).

Purlsandhooks · 09/12/2021 08:09

Sorry not not check in yesterday. I did intend to and started typing but it was a day of many distractions.
Anyway, well done @gonelululemoncrazy for your efforts so far. Hope the week has been kind to you? I've done fine keeping the calories low and did a sneaky mid way progress weigh in.. which was encouraging!
@Gennz18 you temptress! Alcohol is my main downfall when dieting. If you can still get a result on the scales this week I doth my cap.

Purlsandhooks · 09/12/2021 08:13

Whoops missed your last comment there @gonelululemoncrazy. Long walk and a 40 min workout.. you're putting me to shame!!! It'll be all worth it, keep going!
