Food Doctor says
Eat fat to lose fat (oily fish, nuts, seeds etc
Drink plenty of water
No simple carbs with evening meal (pasta, rice, potatoes)
Eat 3 meals & 2 snacks a day
All meals & snacks to include carbs & protein (so oatcakes & cheese, carrot sticks & hummus, I put cottage cheese and oats in fruit smoothies for breakfast)
Exercise
3 others that I can't remember offhand
Final one is follow the principles for 70% of the time (or 80, can't remember!)

It works really well for me when I put my mind to it

Not2bObvious · 24/09/2021 13:58

That's brilliant north, 15 pound over that spaces is ideal. Did you ever see the program with the Food Doctor (Ian Marber I think?) years ago now, was on Discovery Home & Health. I loved him, I think it's 80% from my recollection. Under 250 is excellent

Tired day today so need to reset tomorrow

Mrsmadevans · 24/09/2021 17:53

North that is Amazing. Well done lovely 💐
Great stuff Not 💐😀
Well l am sailing very close to the wind. It's 12 weeks to Christmas day tomorrow and I need to shift myself! Here's to it !

Not2bObvious · 24/09/2021 18:56

Seriously? 12 weeks, ahhh shite. I've had some wine (stopped now) but quite a light Asian dinner.

OP posts:
lifelongfrugaleer · 24/09/2021 20:10

12 weeks, bollocks

Gensola · 24/09/2021 21:08

Omg 12 weeks! Blush maybe I could lose 6 pounds. after I eat this icecream sandwich
north that’s fab progress!
I got in a big strop today about how shit IVF has been and how unfair and had a cry but then went for a walk and now I have ice cream.
Weigh day tomorrow Shock

Mrsmadevans · 24/09/2021 21:21

I know such a shock!
Gen AHH sweetheart 💐 not surprised you had a strop !

Not2bObvious · 24/09/2021 22:39

At my current rate, I could be down 8 pound...or more likely 8 ounces going by my usual progress. Ended the day just under 2,200 - I think that's a smidge over maintenance so tomorrow will need to be better.

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 25/09/2021 07:23

Down another pound to 165.2, no doubt just a brief foray into the 165's but happy to see it after eating a fair amount of sugar/salt last night.
12 weeks though, flip, that snuck up. I'd like to feel a bit more comfortable in my skin by Christmas, 7 pounds would do beautifully. I think all my skinniest of jeans fit around the 158 mark. Surely, that's not too lofty a goal. And then the second goal, the one I have every bloody Christmas, not gain 7 pound over the break!

I'm away with mum, dd and my aunty for the weekend. Last night we had a buffet tea and although I ate more than usual, I managed to steer clear of crisps & dips where in the past I'd have happily sat and eaten a whole pack with dips!
No weight updates until Monday. Well done Not, keep at it

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/09/2021 08:55

A well needed strop I imagine gen
Off day today as out for dinner with a pal
Tomorrow on it

Mrsmadevans · 26/09/2021 08:45

Excellent workNot 👏👏
I only had a cod in batter yesterday for my tea , didn't have chips so that's my effort at the straight and narrow yesterday . Must do better !
Have a lovely day everyone ☺️👏❤️

Mrsmadevans · 26/09/2021 08:46

Great stuff North 👏
l get you re the dips and a large pkt of hand cooked crisps 🙄
That's at least a thousand Cals in one sitting saved well done!

Not2bObvious · 26/09/2021 08:58

Wasn't well yesterday, ate a lot of salty food and have been rewarded by a 3.2 gain - did say it was a brief foray into the 165's! Still not feeling great but much improved on yesterday, whether I get out for a bit of air is debatable, will see how I feel shortly. The fact I barely moved yesterday but still slept shows me I'm not well. Sadly it didn't put me off my food! Looking forward to my breakfast.

Flux down finally 196 even Grin stood on scales twice to be certain

Now the dilemma, stay on 2000 calories or not?
Had 2 ritz & lovely gooey choc brownies last night too, so it'll probably go up again tomo.

Put the sweet & nuts carousel at opposite side of table to me when I'd visitors last night so I just had chicken goujons & light mayonnaise Wink

Mrsmadevans that's major restraint there

Yesterday I made chicken Kiev actifry chips & steamfresh veg for my lunch. Chicken wasn't cooked right so ended up eating chips & veg first & then chicken & rest of veg afterwards

Lazy day today it's raining & overcast

Wooo happier well done!
I have gained weight from IVF and pity eating. Alas.
Wine, crisps and ice cream all happened yesterday plus I sacked off my spin class to go to pub with DH.
Hopefully I can turn it around this week.

Not2bObvious · 26/09/2021 13:06

That's brilliant happier, I'd stay on 2000 once you're losing. It seems to take 2-3 weeks to determine what works I'm finding. Hoping my flux fecks off too.
Of course you can turn it around gen, you needed a little blow out after all the stress & strain

Gen my bf stayed on fri night & the temptation was there to skip HIIT class but he would've only been staying another 30 mins so I didn't sack it off! Can't go to Wednesday class though Hmm

Froze remaining brownies but ate the two parts that were leftover from dc last night. Also froze cookie dough mixture to make a giant one some miserable Sunday to have with ice cream

Chicken, carrots & parsnip going into roasting dish now, I've left it a bit late for the slow cooker I think

Happierwithouthim · 26/09/2021 14:18

North thank you for that detailed explanation Grin Sounds like you're doing it sensibly. Well done on the milestones
Not2bObvious · 26/09/2021 20:41

Sounds like you're on the ball happier, fair play getting the hiit done. I'd normally do my jog and weights on a Monday early morning but I'm smothered with a nasty cold. Feel woeful, cannot stop sneezing and my face aches from sinuses. Have barely moved, kept thinking I should go for a walk but was scared I'd collapse or infect someone. I'd say if I've taken 200 steps over the whole weekend I'd done good. My average calories are just over 1820 so 50 a day less than the last 2 weeks. I have 4 days this week with no chocolate, might try that again next week.
Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday

OP posts:
Happierwithouthim · 26/09/2021 21:38

Not you've got to listen to your body, i was like that Friday evening wanting to go for a walk but after an hour of not being able to rouse myself I admitted to myself that I was too tired and continued watching Netflix

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/09/2021 06:48

Rest does no harm not and sounds like you need it,
Great losses happier
My feet hurt after lots of walking at the weekend. Thinking aerobics might be foolish but yoga doesn’t feel enough

Not2bObvious · 27/09/2021 08:30

Down 1 on yesterday's high, took moving the scales around a bit but if that's what it takes for the scales not to be bounced off the wall, so be it. Feeling marginally better but felt that yesterday & got worse over the day so I'm going for cautiously pessimistic. Humour is not good. Anyway, another week, haven't eaten yet as any summon energy or interest but that'll change soon I'm sure as even though my energy is gone, my appetite is strong! I had planned to take today off, but to do nice things. Now it looks like I'll be off and do nothing, sigh....

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 27/09/2021 14:21

It's great that my humour is so changeable! Sorry for such miserable moaning, forgot how shitty a cold can make the humour. Fought every sniffle the last year.
Dug myself up, went for a walk in the wind, got some lunch and now back after 3 hours out. I'm feeling a lot better although I'm back in the pjs & bed, nearly 10,000 steps out & about so I'm a bit knackered.
How's everyone else getting on?
