Aww gen sorry to hear that. Can you question how other clinics do it?

Wolfcub · 17/09/2021 18:06

Oh Gen, so sorry to hear that.

Mrsmadevans · 17/09/2021 18:37

Gen l don't know what to say except l am so sorry , l do empathise hugely . It is such a disappointment. I used to do the tests and kept thinking it might turn positive but of course it never did Sad. Bless you sweetheart. l so wish it was different for you both. As for the Clinic, looking at the rates of success yours is not doing very well imho , l don't know a lot but have a look at this if you haven't already, something seems off imho Flowers

@Not2bObvious

Ahh no, sorry if I misled you mrs - things are open here (we have to have vaccine passports to eat indoors) I mean Christmas Day you can't eat out in Ireland except if you're booked into a hotel, you never could. Spain for Christmas sounds excellent. And I've decided there will be no more lockdowns, even here they are talking about relaxing more next month & we've been proper under the cosh for the last 18 months. Gastro pub sounds fab, all the best for tomorrow 🤞
Ahhh not to worry Not my bad Grin Truth be told l don't think l could bear to host Christmas this year , l need a break Smile
Gensola · 17/09/2021 18:43

Thanks all 💜 my clinic made me retest as the test I took was apparently not a negative but faulty/inconclusive and I got a very faint line on a first response early result test. They’ve said to take this as a positive and have booked me in for a scan on 2 October. However the line is so faint, I really don’t think they’re right and funnily enough I think it’s for their statistics as they will now count this as a clinical pregnancy even if it comes to nothing. Planning to test again tomorrow and Sunday and see if line darkens or disappears- sadly my consolation wine is going to have to wait a couple of days. It’s all very strange and annoying, dragging it out like this.

Aw Gen I so hope you are Smile I know how stressful this waiting is don't l just Hmm Please Please let you be pregnant Smile It's just another wait. another stress for you both Flowers Wine in abundance if negative..... for sure!
Gensola · 18/09/2021 06:48

Wine tonight it is!! Stark negative on this morning’s test so I must have caught the end of a chemical pregnancy.
Sorry to be going on about this so much - back to the point of the thread now, how can I lose the 3kg I’ve gained during this cycle of IVF?!
I’m thinking 5:2? Any tips gratefully received.
Thanks all for being so lovely 💜

Not2bObvious · 18/09/2021 08:04

Ahh feck it anyway gen - would have loved you to have gotten the good news you deserve. You get yourself the nicest wine and food today, and tomorrow. Diet can start Monday.
Ok, if you want diet distraction - go for it! Bloody hate 5:2 but it does work if you can stick to it. Boring as it, consistent calories deficit will see the 3kg off in 6 weeks. 1500-1600 a day isn't too tough and if you could get 45-1 hour a day exercise plus generally more active it'll chip off nicely. You can do it no bother💕

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/09/2021 08:14

I agree with not start the diet Monday I’m on sorry sweetie and if it helps keep talking about it. We are happy to hold your hand
I’m starting Monday . Promise

Happierwithouthim · 18/09/2021 09:29

Gen talk away here the point of this thread is to support each other, and if you need us we're here.
I've been told that the clear blue test are more sensitive than those at the doctors, they're a little more expensive would you try one of them?
You're in limbo really aren't you?

I weighed same as yesterday so 198.2, yesterday happy scale still said -1lbs in last 7 days now it says - in last 7 days. My week to week comparison for Unislim saw me down 2lbs. Hmm 🤔 anyway I feel lighter & better in my clothes.
Have 3 occasions one weekend after the next starting 16th Oct, so I've a month of progress to make before then.

Not2bObvious · 18/09/2021 11:01

I'm weighing the same as last Saturday, 167.2 - although that's after having breakfast/biscuit bar/numerous teas. Couldn't weigh first thing as the birthday child was in looking for presents at 7am. Lying down now, would love to go out somewhere nice but have dinner planned later so can't overdo it. This is one of my relaxed days on my 7 week plan, nearly 600 cals in already 🤦‍♀️ Relaxed can't been binge although I'm tempted

OP posts:
northender · 18/09/2021 18:03

Oh that's a horrible situation Gen. Sending a virtual hug.
I've had 5 days of extravagance while we've been away and alcohol every day, but no junk, no snacking and was just a pound up compared to Monday. Really pleased with that but am away again next weekend so no rest, back on it for the week.
Have got the slow cooker filled with bolognese made with mince, lentils & veg so as healthy as I can and a pan of chunky veg soup on the go. Trying to get ahead with batch cooking

Happierwithouthim · 18/09/2021 22:27

North well done. I've the veg bought will you make my soup too?

Happierwithouthim · 18/09/2021 22:28

Watched someone's insta stories today & she roasted the butternut squash and peppers in air fryer & just blended with the stock after removing skin from bns

Gensola · 19/09/2021 09:02

I really want an air fryer but we are not buying stuff Atm while we clear the IVF credit card. We have almost cleared mine (400ish to go) but DH has over £4K on his, will take a while.
Dinner a friends last night was so lovely but I drank too much. I have escaped a hangover just about Grin The wife is an excellent cook, I was in awe of the food - nothing pretentious just really yummy and the DH had chosen lovely wines.
We are going for a long walk today maybe with another friend who is feeling low, and I am going to try a spin class - it’s been a few weeks since I did one.
I’ve done a meal plan but it’s more end of the month, using stuff up than particularly low cal!!
Irish stew (lamb) with red cabbage
Bean and pepper fajitas
Fake chicken and pea pesto pasta
Veggie curry and rice

Most of this is using up store cupboard or freezer stuff so we need to buy very little.
I also need to drink more water - any tips?! Unless it’s hot outside I find it hard.

Not2bObvious · 19/09/2021 10:33

I add squash to my water, not a lot but it helps. I also love to leave a glass chilling in the fridge - something about it appeals. No hangover here today either, although I did eat a lot of chocolate last night once I stopped with the wine. It was one of my allotted days off from diet so it's fine.
167.8 this morning, so still just under 12. I had a few 166'ish this week so aiming for 165'ish for the coming week. Lovely sunny day here, giving kids lifts, family visit, then more lifts. Shall keep busy. Had a decent sleep and then fell back asleep til nearly 9! Unheard of for me

Happierwithouthim · 19/09/2021 11:43

Gen I was always a good person for water until the hot water & I got out of the habit. Now I fill a litre bottle in the morning and aim to have it gone for lunchtime and fill it again then. Pint glasses can be more manageable in the beginning one when I get up, one when I get to work, one mid morning, one for lunch, one with dinner and one after exercise.

Meal plan sounds good

I've had a actifry first since 2008 & then a halo when that gave up, bought an air fryer for here & sold it I just prefer my halo, so will have to save for this.

This morning I had an Aldi croissant in it & put Aldi biscuit spread on it Grin
Walked 3.5 miles, now shower & maybe poached egg then or else I'll wait & have lunch after getting small grocery shop.

Not2bObvious · 19/09/2021 19:01

Ok day, should finish at around 1600 so decent for a Sunday, make up for the 3k+ of yesterday!
Lying in bed already, got a walk in earlier and some shopping centre walking too.

Not2bObvious · 20/09/2021 11:13

Morning all - we all raring to go this week? Dragged my arse up & got weights and first c25k session done before school run. 167 this morning which is encouraging, was 169.2 last Monday. Of course that was a big flux so no illusion that I've lost 2.2 since last week. I'm going to cut back on the chocolate this week, in a bad habit recently
Anyone else got any mini goals this week?

OP posts:
Happierwithouthim · 20/09/2021 12:15

Nice to have a flux that way on a Monday morning not my flux was 2 the opposite direction, but like you I don't think I put on 2lbs overnight! I did however have noodles & a mug cake yesterday eve so that's the cause, think my scales know when it's Monday too.

I'm all for it, HIIT classes booked for Monday & Wed, this weekend I don't have dc on Fri eve/Sat morn so I'm going to book into the Sat morn class too.

Bf brought half a chicken with him yesterday because he wanted a chicken sandwich so I've got a roast chicken sandwich for lunch today out of it!

Not2bObvious · 20/09/2021 12:43

I'm firmly convinced my scales knows what day of the week it is, my flux's are pretty consistent - this mornings ok weight was down to weighing after my weights/jog with only a sip of squash - I can't drink a lot before the jog, so I was probably dehydrated. The class plan sounds ace. I might go for a walk on my way home from work, it's lovely today be a shame to waste it. Who knows how much longer the nice days will last.
Woohoo, bonus chicken sambo😉

Hello everyone Smile

Gen bless you , l know how disappointing it is Flowers
l have been trying for a couple of days to get back on MN. I had a laptop update and it wiped all my passwords off . l have been nearly crying over the damn thing . l have been ages trying to get all my sites back. I have been so stressed l nearly changed my name on here to be able to come back on !
Anyway l am back at last , went to Food Festival on Sat , only cost me £10 and it was fab lots of tastings of Gin Grin
Sunday meal out with Dh lovely only 30 for 3 courses Smile
I have just eaten and eaten this weekend Hmm
Dh said he will come on it with me next Monday Smile
Hope everyone is ok , l have missed you all Flowers

Not2bObvious · 21/09/2021 06:29

Nice to have you back mrs, tech updates are traumatic! Computer says no and all that😉 Sounds like a lovely weekend with lovely food/drink - glad you enjoyed it.
Awful sleep, ate something with an artificial sweetener that didn't agree with me and I've been awake for hours with cramps. Was so bloated I looked even more pregnant than usual! Uggg, mostly ok now. Scales up .6 on yesterday but down on last Tuesday so still overall improving. I ended yesterday on under 1700 and no chocolate except for a half a cup of hot chocolate which was yuck. I feel like it's going to be a very bloody long day, but need to snap out of the negativity

I’ve started tracking again

Not2bObvious · 21/09/2021 20:29

I wonder if I'll ever stop tracking 1621 days, bloody ridiculous, still a heifer.
Closing the day at a bit under 1700. Just a couple of short walks so no great calorie burn there. Slow going.
