18 weeks until Christmas

Readytostartagain · 21/08/2021 07:42

It’s 18 weeks until Christmas and I would love to be 25lbs lighter by then. I want to do lots of self care as well as 50s skin is looking very dry and elephant like.

Plan is 10,000 steps no snacking, lots more vegetables and daily yoga. Does anyone want to join me?

Well the steak was sadly not worth it - my husband can do better! But the company was fabulous.

Have been to Pilates this morning and am now dying after leg day yesterday! Looking forward to some lovely fresh fish tonight. Not looking forward to the (non-fish) scales on Monday, but it will have been a good weekend!

Ironicpentameter · 05/09/2021 08:06

Morning everyone, just checking in & hope everyone is well.

Current weight 69.3 k, down from 70. Not amazing but at least in the right direction! Back at work this week which will help me be more disciplined and going to get back to my swimming too, temporarily paused due to bad back!
Have a good week ahead, everyone, and just keep taking it one day at a time XX

petalsandstars · 05/09/2021 08:45

SW 14 st 4
CW 14st 0

So I’m down another 2lb this week, so pleased but not helped by DH buying treats/ shortbread especially for me even after I said I didn’t want it.

Well done to everyone keeping on, little steps to bigger rewards!

LosingItInLockdown · 05/09/2021 09:12

Well done on the losses! Even if it’s just a tiny loss, it’s a step in the right direction Smile. It’s certainly better to have a small loss than a gain!

I don’t know what I weigh at the moment (first day of my period so I’m refusing to weigh), but I think there’s probably not been a huge movement. Managed to go for a small walk yesterday (12,000 steps) which was something. It’s not amazing, but I’ve had weeks of being desk-bound due to work pressures, so I was pleased to get out and do something!!

Submariner · 05/09/2021 15:32

Well done to all those with losses and well done to everyone setting new habits. I haven't weighed this weekend yet, I will do it tomorrow morning. I've been really happy with how I've stuck on plan this week. I even got my yoga in! I've paid for a year of Down Dog apps subscription so I am going to give some of their HIIT or Barre a try.

My plan for this week is:
Eating window of 10am-7pm (I'm gradually reducing this)
Fruit or veg with every meal, option of a fruit/veg snack morning and afternoon. Protein with every meal. I'm now having far less snacks as my eating window reduces, so I think this week will be the week where I have to shuffle my meals around and see what works for me.
10,000 steps per day (still going strong!)
A run or a walk every day (still going strong!)
Alcohol 2 nights a week/1 bottle of wine (still going ... not strong exactly, but I haven't caved yet!!)
At least one yoga and one Barre session.

StickersStickers · 05/09/2021 19:20

So I fell off the wagon. But I’m getting back on. Fasting window of 16 hours tomorrow and I’m going to do some exercise. Either HIIT or strength or yoga, depends on how I’m feeling tomorrow. There’s still 15 weeks to go!

FrugalFanny · 06/09/2021 09:46

Following a boozy binge on Friday evening, I have spent the entire weekend stuffing myself with crap to try and deal with a two day hangover.

But I'm back on the wagon today, with a coffee and a chopped banana and greek yoghurt for breakfast. I'm also getting back into my exercise routine as of today.

Onwards and upwards.

SnowyMouse · 06/09/2021 13:21

SW 14 stone 4
CW 14 stone 3.2

At least it's a loss of some sort.

sar302 · 06/09/2021 14:05

Well the 1lb from last week appears to have made its way back on 😂 although looking back at my food diary this last week, I'm not surprised.

Fasted this morning and now about to dig into a salmon, cream cheese and rocket bagel.

Need to remember:
Exercise for toning
Food for weight loss

Keep going everyone!

SnowyMouse · 06/09/2021 16:13

Good luck all!

SheepBaah · 07/09/2021 19:51

Hi.. I've totally plumbed it and will be starting fresh from Thursday when youngest dc starts school.. we have been doing all sorts of treats to make the most of our last free time together and tomorrow is baking a cake at her request so Thursday it is!

Hope everyone is getting on ok.

FrugalFanny · 08/09/2021 10:47

Everything has gone tits up here. Was really good yesterday then sitting watching TV last night sipping green tea and my stomach rumbling like hell, so I caved. First a packet of crisps, then cookies and milk, all before bed!

So here I am again back at square one, but determined this time. Weighed myself this morning and will do so weekly from now on. So next weigh in will be 15th September.

SnowyMouse · 08/09/2021 16:54

I'm sorry to hear that @FrugalFanny , I hope you get back into it. I've dropped to 14 stone 2.25.

sar302 · 10/09/2021 07:21

I can't believe it's nearly the end of another week!

Happy with my exercise.
Less happy with my food choices. Although they haven't been that bad I suppose apart from a monster burger last night.

Period time so I want all the crisps 😭

FrugalFanny · 10/09/2021 11:08

Morning all!

FINALLY had a good day yesterday, really pleased, kept on the programme and feel far more in the zone now. Also 7 days booze free now as well, so happy on both fronts.

SnowyMouse · 10/09/2021 13:26

Well done on the exercise @sar302

Good for you, @FrugalFanny

I've stuck to it for a week, will be interesting to see my weigh in on Sunday.

SnowyMouse · 10/09/2021 18:25

I'm doing ok:
SW 14 stone 4
CW 14 stone 2
GW 12 stone 13 (Christmas)

SheepBaah · 11/09/2021 21:41

Right, I've weighed in again, so I can start...again. I'm so done with this circle. I want to be a nice straight line!

I've ran out of clothes that I can still squeeze in to and I'm too poor and stubborn to buy more so I really do need to lose some bloat.

Huff.

Ironicpentameter · 12/09/2021 07:32

Morning all - doing my weekly check-in after weighing.
SW 70
CW 68.2. Down a kilo from last week.
Well done to everyone for losses or even maintenance!,
I keep thinking about the Christmas goal and needing smaller clothes & what I can buy!
Memo to self : must resist workplace treats
And cheese…

Have a good week everyone, and take it one day at a time.

NeverRTFT · 12/09/2021 07:41

I'm in!
I'm not massively overweight on BMI but my shape has changed a lot since turning 40 (I'm now 43). Big tyre of jelly round my middle making any trousers or skirts look rubbish. Most of my favourite clothes don't do up any more.
I'd like to lose 2 in off my belly. I do have a modest weight loss target too but for me it's more about the inches around my waist.
It's got to be done by late Nov as I always gain again in December!!

SnowyMouse · 12/09/2021 11:50

Here's my weekly check-in:
SW: 14 stone 4
CW: 14 stone 0.25 (week 3)
GW: 13 stone 0 (Christmas)

So I'm roughly on target for 1lb/week.

Congrats @Ironicpentameter

I've ordered some dresses from fat face, one to slim down into, the others should fit now.

petalsandstars · 12/09/2021 12:51

I’ll have to check in properly tomorrow- pup woke me up at silly o clock and I came downstairs to keep him quiet and automatically had breakfast before stepping on the scales so I can’t possibly weigh now 😆 (has to be straight out of bed before eating anything for me). I have done a body pump session this morning though 🏋️‍♀️

Well done to everyone for working hard.

SnowyMouse · 12/09/2021 16:58

Me too @petalsandstars (weighing first thing before breakfast).

I hope you get a better night tonight.

Ironicpentameter · 12/09/2021 20:55

Totally get you @petalsandstars - I have to weigh absolutely first thing or it doesn’t happen. I’m finding, psychologically, it’s best for me to weigh every two days. If I just do it once a week I’m more likely to slip up as I’ll think I have time to rectify gains before weigh-in!

Well done @SnowyMouse - that’s a great, steady loss, so keep it up! Excellent idea about the dresses - a real motivation.

I did a bit of weights this evening, just a simple 15 min workout on YouTube. Going to try to do one each evening this week.

sar302 · 12/09/2021 21:36

I'll be avoiding a weigh in tomorrow as it's that time of the month.

Spent a weekend entertaining friends, so a bit too much food and wine once again 😭 but I did manage to get to the gym late afternoon today.

I heard an interesting chat on radio 1 in the car on the way about binge eating disorders. They mentioned something about "last suppers", which is when you tell yourself you're starting a diet "on Monday", so you need to have a big meal Sunday night, or "clear out (eat)" the bad food in the house so you're ready for Monday. Im not sure I would say I have a disorder, but boy did I recognise the description of that "last meal"....
