18 weeks until Christmas

Readytostartagain · 21/08/2021 07:42

It’s 18 weeks until Christmas and I would love to be 25lbs lighter by then. I want to do lots of self care as well as 50s skin is looking very dry and elephant like.

Plan is 10,000 steps no snacking, lots more vegetables and daily yoga. Does anyone want to join me?

@StickersStickers I am definitely starting today, I can't keep putting it off. I am so fed up with being overweight and not feeling very healthy.

My plan is to cut all the crap from my diet. The amount of chocolate that I eat is embarrassing.

18lbs by Christmas wound be fantastic and is achievable, for all of us.

fingersdoublecrossed · 28/08/2021 10:28

I need to be really careful today and stay on track! Family gathering with lots of buffet food and copious amounts of alcohol. Must stay strong!

Submariner · 28/08/2021 11:26

That's a good idea @WinterWeightlossGoal but to be honest I love all the meals 😆 I think I will try and get into a groove of having something 'brunchy' for my first meal. Mushrooms are always a big favourite for me!

Yesterday I had a stressful day and ate quite poorly, polished off with a bottle of wine. Plus I missed my run! Never mind, I was back on it this morning with yogurt muesli and blueberries, and a nice run. First time after a heavy night that I was craving fruit and not something stodgy! I'm taking that as a good sign. Also, I've had my wine allowance for the weekend now so that'll teach me!

HereticFanjo · 28/08/2021 11:51

Keep losing threads off my TIO list but I lost 6lbs this week- mostly water I'm sure plus it's my lightest week in cycle. As you can guess I have a lot to lose - more like 2.5 stone than 1! Any dent by Christmas will be great!

Roussette · 28/08/2021 12:02

I started this back in April, and on my first week I lost 7lbs! It was the kicktart I needed to keep at it.
3 stones to lose.
10lbs to go.

But it's getting really hard now there is less to lose. And I'm away for a while shortly and that will involve a lot of eating and drinking, so I'm just trying to get my head in the right place for that

Soril · 28/08/2021 13:00

@HereticFanjo well done losing 6lbs. That is really motivating. Happy for you.

sar302 · 28/08/2021 13:18

Well I had a huge Indian take away last night Blush numbers on the scale weren't favourable this morning, but I'm hoping that's just a temporary salt / water blip!

Have been to the gym this morning and cycled 10k with random hills.

Scrambled eggs for lunch and steak for dinner. Plus we'll spend the afternoon walking around a local festival.

ListenLinda · 28/08/2021 20:15

Been a hectic week, kids have been ill, no money until friday so its been a kind of eat whatever is in kind of week, but still managed to lose 2lbs!
Got a family event tomorrow, my uncles memorial and seeing family that we haven’t seen since Dec 2019, so there will be lots of gin! But hopefully can stay on track with the food!

Roussette · 28/08/2021 21:22

Wow, there's some very active people on here, well done!

3GreenPullups · 29/08/2021 07:27

Morning! 13 stone 4.2 today! Down 3.8 pounds!!

Yay!

I am continuining with IF (my eating window is 11 am to 7 pm); watching portion sizes and cutting out alcohol.

woohoo!

fingersdoublecrossed · 29/08/2021 10:01

I didn't do very well yesterday but I did have fun. Drank far too much and ate a lot of cheese.

sparklyglitterball · 29/08/2021 11:18

I'm glad I checked into this thread today as I was just talking myself into having a day off and eating all the carbs/sugar etc.......hearing you guys saying you're gonna be good and not use bank holiday weekend as an excuse to eat everything in sight is inspiring! Myself and DH are both hungover, which is quite rare for us these days. But I have treated myself to scrambled eggs and toast for breakfast which was lovely. I will allow myself some more calories today but not go overboard and will log everything. Hope you're all doing ok.

SnowyMouse · 29/08/2021 12:23

I weighed in today:
SW: 14 stone 4
CW: 14 stone 4
GW: 13 stone 0 (Christmas)

so I haven't lost any this week, but I'm due on.

petalsandstars · 29/08/2021 14:55

I weighed in today too. I’ve not set a goal weight as such as I want to keep this going after Christmas but first week is feeling ok. Trying to exercise 3x week plus walking the dog most days.

CW 14 st 2

StickersStickers · 29/08/2021 18:35

Well yesterday wasn't TERRIBLE.

Today however we ended up in the DCs favourite restaurant. It's an american diner theme and does really good burgers. I had regular chips, instead of garlic cheese chips and a diet coke instead of a milkshake. Also bought ice-cream in Tesco rather than ice-cream parlour ice-cream

So in the grand scheme of things, I was not great this weekend but could have been worse!

School tomorrow!! (In Ireland so it's not a bank holiday)

RussianSpy101 · 29/08/2021 18:40

Hello, please can I join? I would like to loose 2 stone.

lulu12345 · 29/08/2021 21:28

Decent first week for me albeit a bit false as did a juice fast last for 3 of the days.

SW 11.0
CW 10.7
TW 9.6

Fluffyhairdontcare · 29/08/2021 22:50

SW 13st 8.9
CW 13st 8.5

So lost half a pound. Weight has fluctuated this week as I've been on my period, we were at a wedding yesterday and today just been falling back into bad habits of sugary snacks.

Proud of my loss as every time I've looked at the scales in the last few months it's been higher than when I've looked previously.

Aiming for 1lb next week. Need to be firmer with myself. No excuses. Also need to up my exercise now. Just find it so hard to get the motivation up for it. My mum is visiting this week so I should try to fit it in really as she can watch my children. Back to work thurs so will be walking to work.

Haven't had a chance to catch up on the thread for a couple of days but hope everyone is happy with results this week. Slow and steady, small changes!

Fluffyhairdontcare · 29/08/2021 22:53

Just checked and my commute is appx 3,800 steps.

sar302 · 30/08/2021 07:02

Well I am 1 out of 20 lbs down!

Not bad considering some of the food choices. Quite pleased with the exercise side.

Fridge is stocked with decent food for the week, so no excuses!

Happy bank holiday Monday everyone.

Submariner · 30/08/2021 07:52

Well done everyone - another week done! Unfortunately my midweek dip has evened back out again so I haven't lost as much as I thought. Still going in the right direction compared to last week though.

Starting weight: 11st
Current weight: 10st 11lbs
Goal weight by Christmas: 9st 7lbs

My plan for this week is:
Eating window of 9am-7pm (I'm gradually reducing this)
Fruit or veg with every meal, option of a fruit/veg snack morning and afternoon. Protein with every meal.
10,000 steps per day
A run or a walk every day
Alcohol 2 nights a week/1 bottle of wine
I never did do my yoga session so at least one of those this week!!

MiaRoma · 30/08/2021 07:59

I'd love to join in

Two questions :

  1. What yoga do you do? Online? Does it help low back/hip flexor pain?
  1. Any idea for skin care - specifically moisturising. Does anyone use retinol?
LosingItInLockdown · 30/08/2021 08:02

Hi everyone, hope you’re all ok. Please can I join? I’ve been absolutely terrible for the past few months and have just eaten rubbish and done no exercise. I’m not expecting miracles, but I really want to start making better choices and hopefully lose 10lbs by Christmas (although in honesty, I’d be happy to just lose 7lbs - I’ve not really shifted any weight in a year, despite trying on and off, so any loss will be good!). I also really want to sort out my rubbish skin and hair!

Starting weight is 11 stone 11.

EdnaMole · 30/08/2021 08:18

Hello again
Back from my holidays and really struggling to get going! Need some words of wisdom ladies!!
Managed to knacker my (already dodgy) knee on a walk on holiday so my plans for doing lots of “purposeful walking” have been scuppered a bit. Also I feel a bit daunted by the amount of weight I need to lose (about 5 stone) and I really don’t believe I’m capable of it!! Struggling with peri menopausal sleep problems and general weariness (post holiday blues!) so I need a bit of a kick up the bum to get going with this!
Got all the diet recipe books out and a notebook to make the Big Shopping List and I will face the music and weigh myself shortly.
Send me some positive vibes please!

Roussette · 30/08/2021 08:39

We can do it! I have 10lbs to go having lost 2st 5lbs.

Not sure if this is any help to anyone... but I lost one stone in just about 6 weeks, helped by a big drop the first week.
The next stone took longer but it was steady at between 1lb and 1.5lb a week.

It's getting a bit harder now because there is less to lose, but averaging between 0.5lb and 1lb a week.

Keep on keeping on!
