New thread combining all the VLC shake diets: Cambridge, Exante, Lighterlife, Slimfast, etc. Everyone is welcome.

If you have any underlying health conditions, please check with your GP first (as I did).

My goals:

  • Get two stone off quickly, then swap to less restrictive healthy/calorie controlled eating.
  • Do 30 minutes of exercise (walking, jogging, lifting weights, whatever) a day.

Would love to share tips and motivate each other as we go!

I had my second shake today for lunch
Slimfast says when having 2 shakes one for breakfast and one lunch you can have 3 snacks of 100 calories each
If i have only one shake do i have 600 worth of snacks

@YourWurstNightmare @MyVisionsComeFromSoup - and indeed all others who are having little battles.... me too - and to be honest I am gently hungry all the time - and sometimes I just dont feel like drinking water BUT am losing weight and havent had a proper wobble yet - so just saying thank you for this thread - cheesy but true .... its good to share :-)

@lockdownrainbow The official Slimfast plan is 2 x shakes, 1 x meal up to 600 calories and 3 x 100 calories snacks.

I cut out the snacks and fit them into my meal allowance if I need more.

Weigh in Wednesday, down 100g 😂😂

I think perhaps I will weigh again on Friday to see what damage I do on a weekend!! Probably need to maintain same regime on those days to keep up the pace.
But at least it’s not a gain.
Anyone else weighing in today? How have you got on?

Weighed in this morning - am down into the 80s rather than 90s kg wise. Which is psychologically cheering - and have lost 2 kgs since last week. Seems for me 2 kgs a week is about the norm. Only 20 or kgs to go.....hungry (despite drinking a lot of water) but heading in the right direction. Hope others doing the same

@Shwighty1 Still a loss! Weekends can definitely derail progress. If you can keep it to a cheat meal, rather than a full cheat day, I've previously found that helps.

Totally blanked and forgot to weigh in and now I've already had a gallon of water. I weighed a few days ago and was down another 1lb at that point. Need to lose one more lb by Saturday to hit this month's target. Will update!

The constipation is killing me! I’ve not been to the bog all week and now I’ve just passed little pebbles with yellow stripes!? I’ve obviously googled but has anyone else experienced this? I suffer with chronic constipation at the best of times but this is really bad now, any tips?

I've stayed the same (obviously one day of not eating all the chocolate hasn't been enough Grin) but I'm not that fussed. Well done to everyone though.

SpottedDog - assuming you're drinking enough water? Otherwise adding flaxseeds to meals/shakes, or (what I've done before) is a gentle laxative at bedtime.

Oh yes I think so, they do your guts the world of god! I’m no Dr, but there is plenty of research out there around improving your gut flora (bacteria) to aid such things and many many many other health issues

@TheSpottedDog You poor thing. If you're that bunged up I'd go straight to 2 x Ducolax (or similar). I know it's hard in this weather, but I find walking REALLY helps, too.

@lockdownrainbow Great start!

I remembered to get on the scales this morning and I'm now officially halfway: 14 lbs down, 14 lbs to go. 1st goal achieved! Star

Next goal is 14 lbs by Easter (or roughly 7lbs in Feb, 7 lbs in March). I'm doing really well with 2 x shakes, 1 x meal so I'm going to stick to it for now, but I might need to move to something less strict before I hit goal.

@lockdownrainbow guess it depends how strict your being? Stick with it and keep strict and you should see a drop off of you consuming less calories

@lockdownrainbow It definitely varies. And you still have a few days left for your first week, right? I wouldn't worry about it until your official weigh in. Until then, make sure you're getting plenty of water.

My goals are to get the last 5 pounds off! Also to stick to my exercise plan and. I’m allowing a glass of wine in the evenings which I’m going to limit to the weekend because it’s just not worth the calories
