I found out about this book and audio this week from another thread and poster (thanks @ppeatfruit) and am finding it useful.

I found an old support thread from years ago but I dont think its still active.

Does anyone who is interested in this want to chat and support?
Or anyone who has used it in the past with good results want to give hints and tips?

I have tried every diet going and have had real issues with yoyo dieting but my big aim this year has been to make food not such a battle.

I feel this might just be the way forward for me. But I'm aware I'm in very early days.

OK good luck pontious Grin

You don't need to be thin, just healthy. A healthy weight is bigger than the size actresses are in films, who look underweight. We need to accept that. ''Fat is a Feminist Issue' is worth reading.

ppeatfruit · 14/03/2021 13:15

Seatime If you read my posts about P.M.'s title you will see that I think that the title is the worst thing about his way of eating. I have been to his Show and he commented that he was advised by some women that that is what we want. I didn't and I don't want to be thin just healthily slim.

This is one of the best ways of losing weight. it deals with our emotions mainly and everything AROUND eating not strictly WHAT we eat. Though he does mention we need to eat healthily. Eating really slowly makes it easier to really taste the food (making it harder to eat rubbish because is usually tastes BAD.)

Susie Orbach's book has it's limitations, I know a lot of OW men who don't want to be.

Hello! I'm back after a name change and a fall from the bandwagon. DD has been moved into a new toddler bed and it's all proving rather tiring, so I've ended up falling asleep before the nighttime hypnosis sessions. But I can definitely feel the difference now when I eat to excess in the way I used to.

I did wake up the other night just at the end of the hypnosis and heard PM say "all is well" or something to that effect, and it reminded me of Julian of Norwich. Grin

Unsolicited You haven't 'fallen' you've just had a break, it's not important. Soo easy to just start listening to your body again. Grin

Absolutely, and apologies for the negative word choice! I'm right at the end of the run now and am going to start again at the beginning with a fresh perspective. Most interestingly I haven't beaten myself about this in the way I would've before: I just indulged my body for a bit and am now making the right choices again.
ppeatfruit · 16/03/2021 08:21

Grin Yes and great that it doesn't involve any counting calories HOORAY !!!! Or weighing food fgs!!!!!, Some people can't believe that it can work, but Iam proof and have been for many years, and a lot of posters on here are living proof that it does work very well!!!!!

pontiouspilates · 16/03/2021 16:15

I'm enjoying the App so far.I've fallen asleep each night to the audio and can honestly say that I'm already thinking about food in a different way. Had cheese on toast for lunch - usually a diet no-no, but felt replete after one slice whereas I'd usually have two. Loving this - no weighing and nothing off limits, just learning how to listen to your body!

Winecheesesleep · 19/03/2021 15:05

So I stupidly gave into temptation and weighed myself after a week to 'check it was working' as I was feeling good and thought it would be motivating. Obviously I hadn't lost a pound, felt down about it and gave up. I've just today finished his book though which talks about self sabotage which is exactly what I did, so I am feeling better now and starting the app afresh tomorrow.

For someone who feels like I want to lose weight so much, I don't half make it hard for myself!

ppeatfruit · 20/03/2021 09:00

Oh dear Wine Grin It's only been a week! it might have been time of the month. how do your clothes feel? There's so much common sense in P.M. about weighing!

Winecheesesleep · 20/03/2021 10:39

I know, I'm such an idiot Grin. My clothes feel terrible as I've had a week of over eating but feeling good today. My clothes were feeling good before I weighed myself so I will focus on getting back to that.

pontiouspilates · 20/03/2021 14:59

I'm a week in and gave into the temptation to weigh myself. I'm 5lbs down. I'm astounded and very happy. Even though I'm falling asleep to the audio every night, something is obviously going in!

Winecheesesleep · 20/03/2021 17:22

Brilliant @pontiouspilates well done! I'm glad your illicit weigh in went better than mine Grin. It's nice hearing positive stories.

pontiouspilates · 20/03/2021 19:26

Thanks winecheese I have the book and the App and for me, it's definitely the App that made it all click for me. I really hope I can maintain this way of eating. Good luck!

ppeatfruit · 21/03/2021 09:19

Wine For positive stories mine must be one of the best Grin. I originally lost the 3 stone, that I needed, ,over 6 months or so, that was 15 years ago now Shock At how time flies !! Now i've kept my weight under control both by being vegan and the P.M. way of eating.

Obviously I go on and off PM like at Xmas\b\days etc. but as I said upthread it's so damned easy to start it again, there's no guilt or anything! As I get older I do think that my health and weight is much easier to control with veganism. Not everyone is the same of course Grin

pontiouspilates · 21/03/2021 12:32

Wow ppeatfruit that's really good to hear. What a success story! As you say, Im loving the 'no guilt' aspect of it all

Coconut80 · 21/03/2021 17:15

Couldn't get the CD to play so just purchased the app am about to start. Fabulous losing 5lbs and @peat brilliant loss and maintaining very inspirational. Off to start the app x

ppeatfruit · 22/03/2021 08:28

Thanks everyone Grin I meant to say congrats pontious on the 5ibs.!

Winecheesesleep · 22/03/2021 09:23

@ppeatfruit that's brilliant and very inspiring. That's the dream really, step off the endless cycle of dieting.

ppeatfruit · 23/03/2021 09:19

Thanks Wine I have always been a bit of a rebel though, I've never counted calories or weighed food, given up fruit, esp. not eaten 'diet' food. I did try the Atkins but it made me feel ill so I came off it fast!

pontiouspilates · 23/03/2021 18:21

Ugh yes, the Atkins diet was hell! Bad breath and caffeine withdrawal - I lasted about as long as you ppeatfruit

ppeatfruit · 24/03/2021 08:43

Grin pontius Interestingly it worked well for dh, he's a confirmed carnivore, he must have lost 4 stone Shock BUT it went straight back on, and then some, when he came off it of course Sad

pontiouspilates · 25/03/2021 15:20

That's why I don't want to diet anymore..it comes off, you feel great, you step away from the diet and BAM! It's all back on plus an extra few lbs for good measure!
