Hi! So during the first lockdown, i set up an instagram where I posted photos of every single thing that entered my mouth except from tea, and it really did discourage pointless snacking as I’d pop into the kitchen for a random biscuit but then I couldn’t be bothered to take a photo of biscuit as phone was in the other room, then I realised I didn’t actually really need the biscuit and back it went! It was super effective for a while and along with MFP I lost about a stone, but then I started to follow other instagram account and got some followers back and felt pressure to make everything look pretty, which meant I stopped posting absolutely everything so started having random snacks again, and have now put back on a few pounds! I tried setting up a new private instagram but wasn’t really that motivated! So I’m starting again but instead hoping a mumsnet thread will help!? Anyone fancy joining?!

I’m for a calorie deficit of around 500 per day, so eating about 1750-2000 and burning 2250-2500 (i have a fitbit alta which estimates total calories burnt). I walk a lot (1.5-2 hours a day with dog plus i walk to work) but am going to try getting into running again too! Trying to not be too restrictive food-wise as I’m having problems overeating by quite a bit some days! (when I don’t track while eating and then add up after I can easily put away 4000 calories a day without realising Confused )
I’m currently about 9stone (havent checked for a bit so possibly more!) and aiming for about 8st4.
So yes, please do join and we can look at eachother’s non-instagram-able food! Halo

Ps. a tip I never knew about MFP which makes life sooo much easier, is you can click edit, and check all ingredients for a meal if you’re batch cooking for example, then do ‘save meal’! Saved sooo much time! But maybe everyone knew this already except from me Grin

Todays food for me:
Breakfast: banana bread muffin, microwaved with frozen berries, biscoff spread, 2 crumbled biscoff biscuits (fully recommended, tastes like berry crumble!), 200g greek yoghurt mixed with cinnamon, plus a small mocha ~ 508 cals
Lunch: chicken paella leftover ~ 410 cals
Snack at work: Almond bounce ball - 158 cals
Snack after work: mini hersheys bar plus 2 mini cinnamon biscuits - 78 cals
Dinner: Vegan burger with cheese, sweet pot fries and salad - 800 cals
Lots of tea with oat milk! - 44 cals
Total cals: ~ 1954

Hello @Friedbanana and everyone else! I love this thread and I'm going to join you ☺️ I'm doing the 5:2 diet but like you OP I am hugely greedy and can easily get through 4000 calories in one day. I have about a stone to lose. I'm not going to post my fast day food because that would be too depressing, so I'll start tomorrow with pics of a feast day. I think mostly I love this thread because looking at pics of other people's food is never not fun, and food/eating is probably the thing I love most in the world (and I count DP in that 😆)

Morning everyone I'm back! I put 3lb on but I have now lost that plus another 2lb 😁 so that's 1st 4lb total loss now. I just went completely off track and enjoyed my self around my birthday had some really nice food though. Anyway I'm back at it now.
I hope everyone is well! Not cought up with all your post yet but I'll be having a read later.

Another no so good day yesterday :( I'm feeling quite low about it. When I first started using the CPAP machine last summer I had no bad days. For months. But since the start of this year they're happening more and more frequently and I can't figure out why. I'm going to put on what I've lost at this rate :(

Anyway, yesterday I had:

Breakfast: Danish ryebread with soft cheese and sliced gerkins

Mid morning: an apple and a banana

Dinner: roast beef and cottage cheese salad

Late snack: 2 sleep inducing kiwi. I might have to increase these to half a ton if I don't get this sleep/over eating mess sorted.

@Yeval I'd love to see your fast days as well as your feast days. Genuinely intrigued by the 5:2 plan and would love to see how it works in practise.

Oh OK! I'm doing one on Friday so I'll post it for you. I have a coffee with lots of full fat milk every morning and I can't give it up - I think not having it would make fast days too awful, so that takes up nearly half of my calories. I tend to then just have lunch and no dinner. I need a lot of distractions in the evening, but the more you do it the more you get used to it. And if I'm craving something I know I can have it the following day, which really helps mentally.

I've really enjoyed going through this thread - biscoff is on my shopping list, as are dates!

Hi everyone! I’ve been bad at posting recently so I’ve started using my old food Instagram account again as I find it a bit quicker to post on that when I’m busy and also I can post single photos straight after eating the thing which I think helps me stay more accountable, without worrying about clogging up this thread haha! Also I thought since my goal is no longer weight loss but instead is to maintain my weight, it makes sense for me to stop posting my food on the weight loss board! I love our little thread community and the fact that we all have a healthy and sustainable attitude to weight loss! Some of the threads I see about weight loss on mumsnet are just depressing :( I’ll definitely still be around on this thread, just won’t post my photos anymore!
@FatCatThinCat I’m sure you will get back on it, the sleep issue sounds so tough. I currently have a load of kiwis ripening away, inspired by you 🤪

Also @Alittlebitlostrightnow , like everyone said we are just all different! On all the Instagram food accounts I follow, whenever they post a full day of eating they always put a huge disclaimer asking people to not copy what they eat as everyone has different bodies/activity levels and what they eat won’t work for everyone. I also have a low BMR I think around 1350 cals iirc so if I ate what I ate without doing all the activity I do (which is easier for me than many due to not having children) I would easily put on about 2 pounds a week!

Hi everyone,
I started a new job last week so I've not had as much time to weigh my meals or post on here!! I'm trying to stay on track, I ran my first 5k on Saturday! I'll try to post when I can as I've found this group so helpful
Today I've eaten:
B: Scrambled eggs, small fromage frais; skinny Nescafé sachet;
Snack: pop chips
Lunch: smoked salmon salad; Ryvita thins; lentil curls; 15g Lindt
Dinner: vegetable lasagne; pork sausage; salad;
Desert: 1x Reeses peanut butter chocolate cup;
Not sure of calories eaten, calories burnt will be around 2000, steps 10,500.

Breakfast: pudding rice, yogurt and mandarin slices

Mid morning: banana

Lunch: seafood risotto and salad

Early afternoon: 2 slices of homemade malt loaf with too much butter

Early afternoon 2: finished off the malt loaf, 3 more slices (no pic)

Early afternoon 3: a strip of marabou cookie dough chocolate, which was minging

Early afternoon 3: 3 strips of milka chocolate which is also minging but I can't not eat it.

Dinner: nothing as feeling sick from all the earlier shit

Late evening: cheese on toast (no pic)

Late evening 2: 2 sleep inducing kiwis, although at this point I think a mallet to the head might be a better option.

But today is going better. So far ...

I'm back on it for sure, been on such a spiraling yo yo thing going on with one thing and another but have gave myself a massive kick up my getting larger ass Blush

I'm getting down about my weight and only thing I can do is to sort it out. Today I weighed myself done some exercises too!

I vaguely remember someone doing the 16.8 how did that go?

Hello very windy day where I live today but sun was shining so cant have it all done half hour home exercise and took my children and dog for a walk. Feeling positive started my 16.8 and only thing in really wanted was my coffee Shock but all in all feel fine. So had a coffee and fibre bar, 2 satsumas also lentil curls,today's tea was pizza. Total calories consumed is 1314 and total burned 2773 so looking pretty good. Hope everyone is doin fine Smile

Feeling quite better now I have got back on a eating plan, ran to the kettle at 11 again to make my coffee Grin so far today these are some pics, coffee and kitkat, chicken stir fry for lunch and some fruit for afters..not sure what's for tea yet.
