Hi! So during the first lockdown, i set up an instagram where I posted photos of every single thing that entered my mouth except from tea, and it really did discourage pointless snacking as I’d pop into the kitchen for a random biscuit but then I couldn’t be bothered to take a photo of biscuit as phone was in the other room, then I realised I didn’t actually really need the biscuit and back it went! It was super effective for a while and along with MFP I lost about a stone, but then I started to follow other instagram account and got some followers back and felt pressure to make everything look pretty, which meant I stopped posting absolutely everything so started having random snacks again, and have now put back on a few pounds! I tried setting up a new private instagram but wasn’t really that motivated! So I’m starting again but instead hoping a mumsnet thread will help!? Anyone fancy joining?!

I’m for a calorie deficit of around 500 per day, so eating about 1750-2000 and burning 2250-2500 (i have a fitbit alta which estimates total calories burnt). I walk a lot (1.5-2 hours a day with dog plus i walk to work) but am going to try getting into running again too! Trying to not be too restrictive food-wise as I’m having problems overeating by quite a bit some days! (when I don’t track while eating and then add up after I can easily put away 4000 calories a day without realising Confused )
I’m currently about 9stone (havent checked for a bit so possibly more!) and aiming for about 8st4.
So yes, please do join and we can look at eachother’s non-instagram-able food! Halo

Ps. a tip I never knew about MFP which makes life sooo much easier, is you can click edit, and check all ingredients for a meal if you’re batch cooking for example, then do ‘save meal’! Saved sooo much time! But maybe everyone knew this already except from me Grin

Todays food for me:
Breakfast: banana bread muffin, microwaved with frozen berries, biscoff spread, 2 crumbled biscoff biscuits (fully recommended, tastes like berry crumble!), 200g greek yoghurt mixed with cinnamon, plus a small mocha ~ 508 cals
Lunch: chicken paella leftover ~ 410 cals
Snack at work: Almond bounce ball - 158 cals
Snack after work: mini hersheys bar plus 2 mini cinnamon biscuits - 78 cals
Dinner: Vegan burger with cheese, sweet pot fries and salad - 800 cals
Lots of tea with oat milk! - 44 cals
Total cals: ~ 1954

Dinner - sirloin steak with broccoli and gravy.
Tea - potato croquettes, veggie spring rolls, salt & pepper wings (well done, whoops) salad with mayo and sweet chilli sauce.
Snacks - 4 fig rolls.

Drinks - 2 coffees, Pepsi max, 900 ml squash.

Calories eaten - 1896
Calories burned - 2520
Calorie deficit - 624

Mid afternoon: fruit salad and cottage cheese

Dinner: vegetable bolognaise and spaghetti

Later: 2 kiwi fruit. I tried the 2 an hour before bedtime last night and had the best night's sleep I've had in a long time.

Today’s food
Breakfast: Coffee with sweet freedom syrup;Scrambled eggs; Green smoothie;
Lunch: homemade soup;garlic crackers; Lentil curls;
Snack: 15g Dark chocolate;
Dinner: (Picture from Hello Fresh site as I forgot to take one) Small portion of linguine with courgetti, chicken, bacon, mushrooms, asparagus and creme fraiche- Another Hello Fresh meal (I swapped out some of the pasta for courgetti), it was so nice, I’ve been very impressed with the Hello Fresh meals so far.
Dessert: Apple; 10g Biscoff spread; Small piece of Daim cake;
Calories eaten: 1848 approx Calories burnt will be roughly the same which I’m ok with as I’ve managed to stay fairly low carb today.

Hello all

I took pix today but can't access them on this device.
Will try again tomorrow.
Anyway
Breakfast - two cafetières black coffee
Lunch - m and s king prawns and sun dried tomatoes (v good) on lettuce
Dinner - roast breast of duck, small portions cauliflower cheese and mash, kale, broccoli.
Mid pm snack - two medjool dates.

I am actually quite full and well under my calorie allowance as managed to get out for a brisk walk for an hour or so today. So I might well have the Stray Mousse from yesterday later.

Hi everyone! Welcome @Fooooooooood! I’ve had a busy/stressful week and have gotten into bad overeating habits like I always do when I’m busy/stressed/tired, and I know if I carry on like this I’ll put all the weight back on in a couple months, so I’m posting as a commitment to get back into taking photos and being more accountable from tomorrow :) hope you’re all doing well!

Hi everyone,
I didn’t get a chance to post yesterday but I did 14,300 steps- a combination of a lot of walking and I completed w9r1 of the couch to 5k! I never thought I’d get this far with the programme 😮
Today’s food-
Breakfast: I treated myself to a take away croissant and a coffee to have on my walk (no photo)
Lunch: Chicken Caesar wrap; lentil chips; 1/4 of a tub of hummus; ryvita thins and crackers; square of chocolate;
Dinner: Baked potato; smoked salmon; cream cheese, salad

  • skimmed and almond milk hot chocolate+ marshmallows Calories eaten 1727- I’m still a bit hungry so this will go up Calories burnt will be around 2000 by the end of the evening. Hope you manage to get back on track @Friedbanana

Yesterday I ate:

Toast + 2 poached eggs with butter and avocado
Snack: piece of chocolate & oatcake and Moroccan hummus
Lunch: mushrooms pak Choi prawns brown rice and soy sauce
Snack: chocolate biscuit
Snack: millionaire shortbread & latte
Dinner: chicken garlic onions cavolo Nero aubergines brown rice

Morning everyone! Trying to resist breakfast so I can start intermittent fasting again, it’s really hard on the first day back to it. So I’m starting day with an oat milk chocolate orange cappuccino with a little honey (about 72 calories as it’s oatly barista milk which is higher in cals but worth it as delicious!) . I know with intermittent fasting you’re not actually supposed to have drinks like this in fasting window but I’d be miserable if I didn’t have my morning frothy coffee so I just ignore that rule 😂

Lunch- quorn sausage, cheese, sundried tomato, red onion chutney quesadilla using a wheat and white wrap, with polenta chips and salad, also added some dressing after the photo and ketchup- about 850 cals :)

@Friedbanana are the polenta chips healthier than potato chips? They always look so nice in your photos!
Today’s food-
Pre run Breakfast: smoothie
Post run breakfast: 2 slices of bacon and 2 hash browns in a wrap
Snack:Lentil chips; Pop chips; hummus;
Late lunch: scrambled egg (no photo)
Snack: 2x squares of Lindt
Dinner: Homemade chicken, ham and leek pie with spinach and broccoli.
Yesterday I discovered a new Biscoff ‘recipe’ I melted a small spoonful (6g) and added it to Greek yoghurt - it was so good!! It was like eating a caramel yoghurt..
Biscoff is like the gift that keeps on giving!
I completed w9 r2 of the couch to 5k and did quite a bit of walking today.
Calories eaten: 1859 approx (I’ll probably have some Biscoff and yoghurt later so this will go up)
Calories burnt will be around 2000 by the end of the evening.

@raspberrypickle I don’t really eat normal chips so not sure how many cals for a portion, but this portion of polenta chips was only 100 calories so I think they are quite low calories! It is just a ready made block of polenta (www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/251279936) , I use about a quarter of a block per portion and slice into fries, then add paprika, garlic powder, salt pepper, I also added Italian seasoning today, and pop into air fryer so no oil needed :)

Rest of food today:
Afternoon snack- Greek yoghurt with half a scoop protein powder mixed in, cinnamon and melted biscoff (agree this is lovely in yoghurt!) , decapitated mini gingerbread man, goji berries, raisins, and a toasted Easter edition chocolate orange mini soreen loaf (these are so so nice toasted, I promise)

Dinner- quorn nuggets, rice, lots of spinach and broccoli, sugar snap peas and mayflower curry sauce- I also added some leftover salad from lunch after this photo, and I had a bit extra broccoli and spinach. Broccoli and spinach is crazily high in protein I realised the other week! Going to try to always have some in the freezer from now on as find it really filling and helpful in bulking out meals too!

Evening snacks- 4 ruby chocolate almonds
A chocolate soya pudding
Oat milk decaf mocha

About 2130 calories eaten and about 2500 burnt, going to aim for this kind of deficit hopefully for a couple weeks as I did put on a couple pounds when I wasn’t tracking/taking photos, so I’d like to lose that!

Hello everyone!
Didn’t track calories today but I think managed a deficit as I’ve burnt around 2850 calories and done 30k steps, from a 3 hour dog walk and later a 50 min dog walk!
Breakfast- decaf cappuccino

Lunch- bao bun with cheese and hash brown, cappuccino

Snack- same as yesterday yoghurt etc

Snack- 3 cheese and onion corn cakes

Dinner- potato, chorizo, chickpea, peppers, onions hash with 2 eggs and a bit cheese, then had a bit extra with salad

Pudding- 2 caramel cups

Snacks- decaf cappuccino, chai latte, 12g hersheys then about 20g strawberry hersheys (sooo yummy)
