Well done @FatCatThinCat 10kg is a brilliant loss! Do you see the change in the mirror/in your clothes?

Also, how is the cats weight loss journey going? Grin

notevenamum1 · 06/09/2020 13:23

@EsmeShelby well done on your loss!

fibeee · 06/09/2020 14:14

Many congrats @FatCatThinCat that’s such an amazing achievement!

MushMonster · 06/09/2020 15:29

Well done to all the losses and hard work!
It is a gapin for me this week! Though I have been going to the gym very consistenly. So it lloks like more exercise is making me hungrier! Challenge for nect week is to keep the diet while upping the exercise. So this morning I am 89 kg, so plus 0.3 kg which is 0.66 pounds!
So harder work ahead the week for me!

FatCatThinCat · 06/09/2020 15:51

I can see it in the mirror but more importantly I feel it in my bones. I don't have constant back ache now.

Also, how is the cats weight loss journey going?

Fat cat is still fat but thin cat is filling out a bit and will soon be giving fat cat a run for his money.

SansaClegane · 06/09/2020 16:33

Checking in! It's great to see so much progress - keep at it, everyone.

So my week has been proof that you shouldn't weigh yourself too much Confused as you might remember, I was just shy of 1 1/2 stone loss in total last week. So the next day, I was thrilled to have lost another 0.8lb and had achieved that first milestone.
However, the morning after that I was suddenly up by 1.5lbs! And then everyday it only came down by 0.2lb or so, finally on Friday I was back to Sunday's weight (so basically no loss) and then only Saturday and today it was down.
So today's weight: 12st 12.6lbs, that's -1.5 on last Sun.
I found it a hugely frustrating week though! I'd not changed anything in regard to diet or exercise; however I started back at work FT and the DC started school this week so stress levels were quite high, and my bowels were slightly out of routine Blush I felt so bloated and constipated!! I guess that's why I had the weight loss at the weekend, finally able to shit again Grin
FatCat what do you mean by recalibrating the scales by the way? How do I do that - and to what?

FatCatThinCat · 06/09/2020 17:14

SansaClegane

If you've moved them, to reset put weight on them to turn them on, let it go back to zero, then wait until they turn themselves off, then step onto them and the reading is accurate.

FatCatThinCat · 06/09/2020 17:15

Well done all my fellow losers. We're getting there!

WobbleWhenIRun · 06/09/2020 18:29

Well done everyone. Some really inspiring stuff on here.

@Grimmauldface - if you keep picking yourself up, as you have, then you WILL succeed. That also goes for anyone restarting after a blip.

@FatCatThinCat - great success Grin

@SansaClegane the mantra round here is "weight loss is not linear". If you're eating and moving adds up to a loss then the scales will catch up.

That goes for @MushMonster too. If you've upped your exercise then a 0.5 gain after just a week can be stored water or added muscle, not fat.

I'm down 2.9lbs since last Sunday so that's a total of 32.3lbs. "Just" another 69lbs to go... Grin Grin

notevenamum1 · 07/09/2020 12:08

Lost 2.5lbs after not having lost anything last week! Definitely massive fluctuation issues happening here like you @SansaClegane can be very disheartening but need to keep plodding on.

I am definitely far too influenced by the scale I.e reward myself for the smallest lost and beat myself up for the smallest gain.

I do really need to move my weigh in day from Monday to Wednesday. Monday is a great day to start a diet but a terrible day to weigh in and most people are naturally more relaxed diet wise at the weekend and that shows up horribly on the scale on a Monday.

Everyone is doing so well and this thread is really really helping me stay on track so thanks to everyone who comes on to update and encourage one another Flowers

fibeee · 07/09/2020 14:56

Congrats @notevenamum1 the scales were bound to shift eventually!

Yeah you should try moving your weigh in day and see if that works for you. I refuse to weigh myself on a Monday. I’d rather eat a meal or 2 with family, friends or have a date night with DH at the weekend and reel things in a bit during the week.

morningtoncrescent62 · 07/09/2020 21:08

Oh, well done @notevenamum1 I'm very glad your resolve has paid off. Proof that the theme of this thread - weight loss isn't linear - is true!

Fantastic result, @WobbleWhenIRun. Looks like you're a third of the way there if I've got the maths right, which is a very significant chunk. @FatCatThinCat it's brilliant that you've not got the backache any more. After all, that's why we're all going through this torturous process, isn't it? To improve our quality of life. @Grimmauldface congratulations on deciding to get back on the wagon, always so difficult.

I've had a very small slip-up today, but in the scheme of things I don't think it's worth worrying about so I'm going to try not to. Back at the start of lockdown, when I committed to my current weight loss plan, I bought some snacks that I don't actually like very much, in the hope that they'd be non-addictive for those moments when I just couldn't do without a sweet treat. So I bought a pack of Nakd bars - they're kind-of densely packed dry fruit. I ate two of them a while ago, and the other two have been sitting in the cupboard because as it turned out, they've indeed proved to be non-addictive! This evening, not having had any snacks at all since I got back from holiday two weeks ago, I ate the remaining two. I was hungry after I finished my evening meal and I had a craving for something sweet. I could easily have gone to the supermarket (very close by and open till 10pm) and bought a family bag of Maltesers and a four-pack of Mars bars and wolfed the lot, so in the scheme of things my two Nakd bars are a win. I don't want them to become a habit, but I also don't want to make myself feel desperate and deprived because that's when I fall off the wagon completely.

MushMonster · 09/09/2020 21:57

Keeping on it here! My gain has motivated me a little bit more LOL, so I got an app to count calories just in case I was misscalculating something. I have been going to the gym every day this week bar Monday! Done bike and a new class so far. And have booked gym for tomorrow and Friday after work. Also I am walking to work each day, and then walking around at work quite a lot ( nice change from sitting down previously), so I have done more than 10000 steps each day. I do feel happy and healthier, I love the feeling when I am proper tired and sleep like a log.
(PD This time I am reading my post before posting, sorry last one was horribleBlush)

FatCatThinCat · 10/09/2020 11:55

I slipped last night. I was extremely tired, have been for a while now, and feeling generally under the weather. Cue takeaway burgers and chips for tea instead of having to cook. Not a fast food one, a great big greasy spoon type burger and chips.

Oh well, onwards and upwards, or should that be downwards.

fibeee · 11/09/2020 09:08

I indulged a bit this week too @FatCatThinCat. So no loss for me I just maintained. But I’m just happy the scale is not going up. I know I’ll get to my goal eventually.

Next week will be a better week. I’m determined that it will be.

Total loss -7lb

FatCatThinCat · 11/09/2020 11:11

i'm hoping for a 'maintained' too. We also had a delivery of crumpets, which living abroad is like mana from heaven.

SansaClegane · 11/09/2020 16:16

Oh, where do you live FatCat? And thanks for the scales recalibration instructions ;)
I'm back to perfectly linear weight loss now Grin which is great; today I've hit exactly 24lbs down, and have to say I'm really proud of myself. Because that actually sounds like a lot now and I can feel it, it's noticeable. Clothes fit so much better and I'm starting to feel better in myself.
Hope you're all staying motivated too!

fibeee · 11/09/2020 17:05

Congrats @SansaClegane 24lb is incredible!

notevenamum1 · 12/09/2020 13:29

Well done @SansaClegane that’s some loss!

MushMonster · 12/09/2020 17:16

It will be a maintain the weight for me too. I weighted this morning in the gym. It is weird how now that I am going to the gym I am getting less results in the balance. But I will persevere! I can see my waist line getting thinner and more definition. Also have harder legs, which not sure got thinner this week, but definitivelt got better shape than when I started. Also my arms are starting to get some tone in them.
My belly fat is softer and it looks less bulky to me. So I have the hope that will get burnt eventually!
I have not overdone it with the eating. That I am sure.
So I will keep at it and see how it goes next. At least my heart rate is slower when I exercise and I am doing better with the bike.

FatCatThinCat · 13/09/2020 09:31

129,1 kg this week, same as last week :(

WobbleWhenIRun · 13/09/2020 14:48

3.1lb loss this week - almost all in the first couple of days before the scale got stuck again. Still, I'm not complaining.

35.4lb gone. 66.4lb to go....

For all those that maintained, that is still a win. It might not feel like it, sometimes, but it really is.

MushMonster · 13/09/2020 15:39

Keep going @FatCatThinCat. It is demoralising when the balance is not down, but we are still accomplishing a healthier life style! We will get there.
You hold my hand, and I hold yours, and we will get there!

FatCatThinCat · 13/09/2020 16:35

Indeed, we will get there.

SansaClegane · 13/09/2020 17:04

Don't be disheartened, FatCat! Like Wobble says, it's still better than gaining.
Mush sounds like you are turning it all into muscle Grin losing inches is great!
Wobble well done on the weight loss!

My weigh in today: 12st 8.6 lbs (last Sunday 12st 12.6 lbs) so quite frankly I don't know what happened there, seems a very big drop all in the last few days. That said - my period started Friday - have you guys noticed that you lose more at the beginning of the cycle and then it's clinging on during the last two weeks? Seems to be happening to me.
